... An unforgettable love-story over time.

"We're like intersecting lines. Met to part."

Note: This is a time travel, romantic suspense.

This is one of the best books I've read this year! *standing ovation* Nick, Quinn, Rose, and Sarah were the reason why I lived this one as much as I lived my guitar. They were powerful characters that forever engraved in my heart. I won't ever forget them! I am so happy and sad that this is over. But the good news is, there's so many more kinda stories from this author to read!

“You're my life. You're the only part of it I want”

Intersect is the conclusion in the highly addictive duet, Parallel. This is the continuation of Nick and Quinn fascinating and deeply emotional story. Time? Fate? Death? No. Nothing can tear them apart! But what if someone did, and would do it again?

I loved every twists and turns in the story.
I needed answers, and when they were revealed, I was stunned beyond belief, I shed tears, exhilarated, and was in love. It was everything. I have no words to how brilliant and unique this story was.

“Make no mistake, Quinn: being able to time travel is both a blessing and a curse.”

I really wish I could express everything I love about this book. But I think, recommending this to y'all is the best way to share what I'm feeling for this one!

Overall, I loved this duet. It isn't a perfect stars because I need more. More improvements with some of the twists that I saw coming. It was already the best, but I want it to be the best of the best!

I highly recommend this to those who likes: Elizabeth O'Roark, time travel, romantic suspense, paranormal, romantic fantasy, science fiction, emotional read, and a happy ever after.

"Nick,
I found you before. I will find you again.”

"These tiny moments with him aren’t something ephemeral, they’re something I might get to live again and again. It seems like too much good fortune for one person"

Jumping from a chef-d’œuvre as poignant as the previous book in the Parallel series to honestly, a scarcely constructed and executed one. Synthesis why I’m always a bit reculent to read series with a developing storyline going through them.

"How the hell do you stop someone who can vanish at will? "

Drooping a premise as enticing as Time traveling and only orchestrating the action and mystery/ investigation in the last few chapters with dedicating most of the plot to eye-rolling-drama and endless scenes featuring the protagonists and their sort of developing relationship —when we already knew and were convinced they were soulmates or fate mates from the first book— wasn’t clearly an intelligent move to hook the reader me.

" How did I exist without her? "

The love triangle, that wasn’t really one; it was crystal clear who she would choose was yet an other poorly drawn aspect of the storyline; I hated how the author pulled the failing and falling relationship between Quinn and her ex-fiancé all into the poor guy’s shoulders, painting him as the bad guy when she obviously wasn’t communicating enough with him throughout their relationship. What the hell did she think? That the guy had some telepathy powers or..?. (This part is mostly happening in the Parallel book but I was kinda hopping a better and healthy closure to their 8 years relationship, meh.)

Quinn and Nick were a solid and meant-to-be-couple from the very first pages of the first book but even my love for them couldn’t save the plot-line from being a bit of huge letdown.

" Make no mistake, Quinn: being able to time travel is both a blessing and a curse"

The final point and ultimate revelation at the end were unexpected. Discovering what separated them in each life was light years away from any scenario I had schematized and imagined but again I couldn’t fully enjoy it; sadly the author lost me waaay longer before dropping the shocking bombe.

Parallel's first book is still my favorite out of the two.

That being said, we did get so much more from them as a couple here, and the plot-twists and action scenes of this book were so well written and well developed. As usual, Elizabeth O'Roark can do no wrong.

These two books together are very quick, exciting and fun reads. They are also unbelievably romantic.

The only reason I am not giving this five stars is because the pacing slowed down a little towards the end and I caught myself drifting a little. The first one had a deeper feel of excitement, because everything was fresh and the forbidden relationship helped so much.

I will honestly continue with the rest of the series, since I hear the next two books will be centered around another couple who seem to have an edgier relationship.

Overall, I will definitely recommend this series just from how impeccable Elizabeth's writing is. Even though her flow shifted a little bit with this book, she is still so on point with everything she tries to do.

No repetition, an incredible vocabulary, the best inner dialogues, relatable and down-to-earth characters, the most romantic love scenes ever written and the best banter.

She also expanded so much more on the world building, time traveling, past and present shifts... I feel like I have never read something like this before. The small details she crafted definitely make this book worth a shot. It's a wonderful mix of romance, paranormal and urban fantasy.

Short, sweet, romantic, extremely original plot, and pretty good writing. You're bound to have a good time.

I almost dnf it. I found this part repetitive and confusing, especially with the revelations following one after the other!!! And all those sex scenes didn’t excite me in the least.
I had high expectations for this story but they weren’t met... 🤷🏻‍♀️

This. Was. So. Entertaining. Romance with bits of magic.
I’m just going to put my full review of the duet here so it’s all in one place!

In Parallel & Intersect we follow Quinn, she had dreams as a child where she would wake up and feel like it was real, she’d tell her parents she was married to a man named Nick and that she had a whole life with him. The dreams stopped at a certain point in her childhood, and now she’s an adult, 6 weeks away from getting married, and the dreams start happening again. Only this time, they make her black out and end up in the hospital. And surprise, when she wakes up in the hospital, turns out the doctor’s name is Nick and he’s the SAME guy that she’s been dreaming about her entire life, and he’s been dreaming about her too, and they don’t know why.

YOU GUYS. This duet was amazing. There was so much love between these two characters, and don’t even get me STARTED on the tension!!! I don’t want to say too much in fear of spoiling for anyone, but go in knowing only what I’ve told you. Seriously, going in blind was such a wonderful decision, and I don’t regret it for a second.

NICK REILLY THE MAN THAT YOU ARE!!!!!! This is a love that lasts forever.

my main complaint about the first book was that it didnt feel complete. it had enough spark to get me interested but it didnt have enough story to help me figure out if i actually liked it or not (basically a prequel novella).

and so i totally think that, after reading this sequel, the two books should have been combined into one. if they had, i might enjoyed the story more. neither installment would feel incomplete and the narrative as a whole wouldnt feel disjointed.

while i still think the idea of two people fated to meet each over and over, no matter which timeline or the number of lifetimes, is super romantic, i just cant get over how convoluted time travel plots are. this sequel takes a sweet idea of two people dreaming about each other before they meet and throws it into “super secret spy adventure” territory because of the whole time travel aspect. it just not my kind of thing.

but i think readers looking for a unique romance story with no gripes against time travel will enjoy this!

Dear Ms. O'Roark,

Thank you for this duet. I inhaled it. I love to read, but it's books like these that remind me why. It had ALL the feels. And when I learned the thing about the thing? I sobbed. SOBBED. I lost a full day of writing and two nights sleep, and I couldn't be happier.

I can't wait for Across Time.

Sincerely,
Your new stalker.

4.5⭐️ I am clearly in my Elizabeth O’Roark era, and having finished The Summer We Fell, wanted to read the one series I had not yet read. While I don’t tend to go for paranormal romance, it’s a testament to her writing that not only did I binge Parallel in under a day, I quickly download its counterpart Intersect. The love story at the center of this duet is incredibly swoony and unforgettable.

"We've spent our lives insisting unusual things were normal. Maybe it's time we stopped."

This will go down as one of my favorite duets of the year. The discussions I had with some of my friends that jumped in right after I did were very FLAMBOYANT. I'm pretty sure my comments were pretty theatrical at some point while I was trying to read it and message a friend that had already read it. HAHA!! We were throwing theories around like confetti. There was so much to discuss and plenty to debate. Once again, my favorite part about books. This one was NO different. For the finale in a duet, I am both happy and sad. Happy that I finally got to read more of their journey, but so sad because they are leaving me....just gone. All done. Fin. sigh I am pretty sure this empty feeling I have is akin to a book hangover. I really do miss these characters and the angstiness I felt while reading this epic story.

Nick has got to be one of the most amazing male characters I've read all year. I have read some good ones - not gonna lie, but he was amazing. He made me smile. He grabbed ahold of this connection that had no possible reality to it and he ran with it. He felt it. He accepted it. I loved him so much!! And the strength that Quinn possessed was unreal. To be thrust into another life or world, and not understand what could possibly be happening? I mean, you're basically going in blind to another LIFE. This couple was destiny in all the definitions out there. This wasn't really fate to me....it was pure destiny. It was such a neat story to read and I am so glad I took the chance on it. I am so excited to share it with someone, for sure, because I know the discussions will be so animated. There really was so much depth and creativity behind this story that I couldn't help but wrangle a few friends into a discussion after we all read it. Absolutely in love. I cannot say that enough.

But their chemistry together? It was atomic. Undeniably HOT. Like, ridiculously chemical on every level. Argh!! Their love and devotion, their desire, it was insanity squared. Around each other, it was like being caught up in a storm and watching them unhinge. When they were in each other's arms, it was so awesome to see this unabashed affection pour out. That level of temptation between them was so intense and I read with so much fascination at their pull towards one another. They couldn't keep their hands off each other, and I love how that played into their story as well. It wasn't just a connection they couldn't explain, it was an attraction they couldn't deny. It was meant to be.

"Just promise me you'll wait for me. Promise you'll be here when I get home."

The emotions were on point. The love was all consuming. The storyline was addicting. I was 1000% invested in this story and the characters. I'm also very shocked that I have never hear of or read Elizabeth O'Roark before. I feel like I have to blame someone for that....again. HAHAHA!

I feel like I got a very good look at Elizabeth O'Roark's writing style and voice with this duet, and now I have to go through and check out her catalog of books and see what I can squeeze in. She gave me an amazing story, definitely not a normal one, and allowed me to get caught up and fall in love with not only some amazing characters, but a storyline that is just....different. Her imagination astounds me. I love how she was able to infuse so much reality into an otherwise impossible situation, and just ran with it. I am so sad it's over. I loved it!! Gosh, the scenarios that were described and fleshed out, the possibilities, the mind-boggling potential about everything that was presented was insane. My mind was racing, my heart was falling...and to be able to look back on my theories and know how close I was to being right, but also how far off I was is pretty neat to see now.

This book was shaping up and reading like a favorite book. I won't lie and say that this book didn't put me through the wringer, because it honestly did. It wore me out and my heart was tired by the time I was done reading the whole duet - it was intense in some spots, absolutely heartbreaking in others, but overall amazing. But somewhere along the ride, it sort of lost its edge for a bit. Not in a "this story is ruined now" kind of way....but it slowed down and I don't think I was ready for that. But the way O'Roark tied up every string left hanging from the first book, that was awesome. I feel like it's pretty notable how well she introduced some events, allowed me to come up with some theories - viable ones too, and then she explained it all along the way and cleaned them right up! So much going on, but I wasn't left confused about anything and I was intrigued from the first page of the first book until the very end of the last book. I am literally sitting here on my couch, arms extended, telling you....begging you to read this duet.

This entire book, discussing any part of it would be spoilery because of the slow, methodical unravelling, one page at a time. I do know that this entire duet had me completely fascinated for two full days. I read both books in record time - for the Bee, that is. There were spots that I was so excited about the possibilities, or the unfolding of the storyline, that I couldn't sit still. I was a messaging fool while I was reading this one - my poor friends!! I was excited and anxious, wide-eyed and shocked. The whole time I was reading, I wasn't without discovery. I know I always talk about discovery, but that is my favorite part. I want to be taken away. I want to be enamored with characters and taken for a ride with the story - and this duet did that. After reading my first books by Elizabeth O'Roark, I will be back for more for sure.

I just loved it. I absolutely loved it. I really can't complain at all and I already miss Nick and Quinn so much...someone, please hold me.

"You're my life. You're the only part of it I want."

I guess I just wanted more out of it. The plot is really unique and interesting but it didn’t grab me the way it should have. If the time travelling plot didn’t exist and it was just a story about these two falling in love, I would have been bored out of my mind. I think it relied too much on the unique plot which made the execution fall flat. The time travelling hooked me, but there wasn’t much developing outside of the plot that to make me love it. There were still so many questions and problems left out. Like I wanted more with both their mothers. I wanted to see Nick’s mother meeting Quinn, and Quinn’s mother accepting Nick and apologizing for her part with Jeff. There’s also a few plot holes and confusing part but it can get messy trying to make a time travelling book without any so I’m not too bothered by that.

I know that all made it sound like I didn’t enjoy the book at all but I did. Like I said, it was very interesting and I actually did like Quinn and Nick together, there was just nothing there that made them feel special or exciting to me.

Imputable!!! I couldn't sleep because I needed to read it ASAP!
It was sometimes heartbreaking how this couple was suffering during years. They were meant to each other.

I read the first book and really liked it. The second book was not so good. Instead of sticking with this interesting time travel plot, the author spends the entire book on how much the two main characters want to have sex.

The journey of Quinn and Nick continues in this book, and what a journey it is!!

This is unlike any book I have read before. There are so many twists and turns along the way that I certainly went on a whirlwind of a ride. I had theories all the way along that got destroyed every other chapter. Just when I knew I had something worked out, another turn came along and I was second guessing everything (even though 2 minutes prior I was convinced I had figured out the answers).

I will say that I liked this one slightly less than the first book. I can’t exactly put my finger on it, but I think it was because I felt Quinn and Nick were always pretty clueless. They were always chasing the answer and never got ahead of this until the end. I just wanted to really see them “win” or be “smarter” one time.

Having said that, I think the author did a fantastic job of revealing things along the way. As I said above, there are a ton of twists and turns so it’s not like everything is solved in the last few pages. It all comes together at the end, but there are clues along the way and things come to light as they work through their unusual situation. I didn’t feel like I was bombarded with a rushed ending that tied up loose ends.

However.....there are loose ends that are not wrapped up. This book ends perfectly for Quinn and Nick, but there are some things involving other generations that will most likely be written about in future books.

The author has a link at the end of this book that is a nice little epilogue to Quinn & Nick’s story. Make sure you download it.

Overall, this was a fantastic duet. If you want to read a paranormal that will keep you on the edge of your seat, a story that tempts you to ignore all else so you can devour every word, and characters that you will root for every step of the way, then don’t hesitate to pick this up. One of the best stories I’ve read this year.

🎧 Audiobook Review 🎧

This duet was everything that I didn't know I needed!
Nick and Quinn love story transcends every single timeline that they lived, and they make you believe in soulmates and how if you're meant to cross paths with someone, no matter what happens in your lives, you'll meet someday!

All the twists and turns that lead them to their happy ending are addictive and full of small clues, and you will find yourself gathering them and desperate for answers!

I loved how it ended, how it was all unravelled, and my only complaining here is that I needed more!
More of them with the twins, with Sarah, with themselves.
Just more.

This is also a story that makes me feel like I should navigate through different tropes more often, cause I loved the novelty of an unique storyline.

🎧 About the Audiobook Narration 🎧

Narrated by Samantha Brentmoor and Jason Clarke and again, it was flawless!

This was just as much addictive and thrilling as the first part. I liked that the author tried to preserve tension between them even though they were together.

I was a bit weirded out by the super fertility part 😂 also, the heroine was so insecure at times in the hero's love for her. Girl, he's willing to leave his life, career and everything for you and you STILL think he's gonna find someone new in 2 years time???

Wow, what an adventure with Quinn and Nick. Great ending to the Duology, most questions answered. I was left wondering about the results of Quinn's DNA test taken by Dr. Grosbaum. Other than that, Great Read. Caroline and Trevor win the award for best friends. Quinn, although not a teen, deserves to be an honorary Teen Titan for her heroic efforts. Quinn's mom is the worst supporter. Sarah and Rose tied for the best surprise. Nick added to the shelf of best book boyfriends. Thanks to my Goodreads friend for the recommendation.

A stunning conclusion to Parallel and everything I had hoped it would be and SO MUCH MORE. The connection and love between Quinn and Nick emits from the pages. The tension and heat unparalleled. I loved the suspense and learning the truth of the mysterious woman. It was unexpected and simply a beautiful journey to be on. I absolutely LOVE the possibility of more stories to come out of this series as I’m not quite ready to let these characters go. I am OBSESSED!
I’m in awe of O’Roark’s talent. The way this story was crafted is truly special and unique. I love the idea of that one person who is your true person and soul mate and that no matter time or place or the odds , you will always find each other bec it’s meant to be.
I am absolutely in love with this series, the writing, this new to me author... EVERYTHING! 😍😍

I LOVED THIS BOOK! I LOVED THESE CHARACTERS! I LOVED THIS BOOK WORLD! This duet has easily moved to my TOP FAVORITE list for 2019!

After being left with the cliffy at the end of book 1, I was beyond anxious to read this second and final book in the duet. There were so many questions I was left with and I NEEDED to know how everything was going to play out. Were they going to live THIS life together after so many failed lives before??? I NEEDED them to find their HEA in THIS time!

It's been a while since a story has brought tears to my eyes, but there were moments in this book that had tears trekking down my face. And that was due to a revelation/plot twist that had my heart swelling and plummeting at the same time (you will know what scene I'm referring to when you read it). This twist Elizabeth O'Roark has been building up to for an entire book and it finally was revealed and it was a heart stopping moment. I'm still shocked with it all and I give kudos to Elizabeth for laying bread crumbs the whole way to this revelation, but not making it so obvious you figure it out (at least I didn't) until the moment it is revealed. In fact, most of her revelations were unpredictable, which I LOVE when I'm reading. I don't want to be able to guess what's going on, but I also don't want to be left COMPLETELY lost. With both books, I was able to develop theories of how I thought things were gonna play out (which I was right about some and wrong about others) and I was able to understand what I was reading without having to reread parts. *round of applause* Truly, Elizabeth's story telling with this duet is out of this world. Every time I had to stop reading, my mind would stay in that Nick & Quinn's world.

This is how time traveling romance should be done! I could easily start this duet right back at the beginning and enjoy it all over again. Which is very tempting because now that I know how everything ends up, I want to reread all the breadcrumbs Elizabeth laid down and see what I missed! The angst and love is still there throughout this book and it's still very much palpable. Nick and Quinn were explosive!*fans self* The slow burn continued to kill me slowly, but it was SO GOOD!

This duet consisted of everything that my book loving heart enjoys when I read: mystery, angst, and love. If this is a testament to how Elizabeth writes, then I WILL be reading more of her work. I said in my review for book 1, PARALLEL, that Elizabeth had the potential to execute this duet to it's full potential and SHE DID JUST THAT! The way in which she executed the unraveling of the mystery of this storyline, was FLAWLESS! It can not be easy to write a time traveling story, where what you previously wrote, no longer applies because the characters altered it in the present time. Just trying to wrap my mind around that right now, feels mind boggling and confusing AF. LOL! But like I said, Elizabeth nailed it with this story! This is a binge worthy duet!

What a really interesting follow-up to Parallel.

We continue on this journey to figure out what is going on with Quinn and where does Nick fall into it. Quinn's story is unique, she dreams of different lives, knows things that she couldn't possibly know and has this crazy connection to her doctor. Nick knows he has been missing something in his life and when he meets Quinn he knows who that missing piece is. Except is it for the first time?

This story was really interesting, how the pieces come together and of course the very delicate issue of time-travel. I wanted it to be a bit more supernatural(ish) but there was enough there to satisfy me. The author did a great job of stringing me along, I needed to know who was women was and what part she played. I totally did not see that coming, by the way. I also needed to know what was going to happen with Quinn and her looming diagnosis, it felt like the clock was ticking and that added to the mysteriousness of the whole book.

I am hoping that this world is explored again, as it was interesting and conceptually really cool.

This is my sixth Elizabeth O'Roark book in 3 days...

A cute love story with a hint of time travel. I still think this duet would have worked better as a longer standalone, but I enjoyed it nonetheless.

The plot was a lot more flushed out in this one and I found myself hooked. There were a lot of twists and revelations, and I found the book had a better pace than the first one.

The author has such an easy to read writing style that you find yourself engaged without realising it.

An epic conclusion to this unique Time Travel Romance!

What a wild ride! Intersect is the finale of Nick and Quinn's story, and I loved how everything came full circle!

Their story was addicting, and their love was all-consuming.
This story picks up where Parallel left off, and I was even more invested in this story and the characters.

All the spice missing in book 1 is all here! 😂 Understandable after all this built-up tension between Quinn and Nick in book 1. And it still was integral to the plot, which I appreciated. But no excuses, they just were so horny for each other hahaha

“God, I’ve missed you and it hasn’t even been 24 hours”

What bothered me a little was Quinn. She repeatedly refused to believe the obvious & explanations in relation to time travel. I wish she had accepted the truth sooner and didn't constantly come up with excuses.

While we got to know Quinn and Nick as a couple more, the plot twists kept me on my toes, and I just wanted to know everything that was still in the unknown.
I loved the overall development of the story and how everything came full circle.

“No, it’s worked out fucking terribly. So I say if something you want scares the hell out of you, go for it. Because the other way isn’t working.”

Elizabeth O'Roark dives deeper into the time-traveling aspect and its consequences to the present. I felt like I couldn't fully grasp what was happening and kept guessing until the very end. But I was here for the ride, which made the time of the audiobook fly by fast 😏

Overall the Parallel Duet has a unique story with a very satisfying conclusion!

This is the continuation of Nick and Quinn’s journey.

This duet was a real epic ride for me. I don’t think I’ve read anything quite like it. It’s full of plot twists, mystery, reveals followed up by even more questions. It had me guessing and desperate to get through chapter after chapter because I wanted answers!

Nick and Quinn are finally together but they are most definitely out of the woods. The whole issue with Quinn and time travel are a huge mystery that the book centres around unravelling. Plus Quinn’s serious medical issue along with someone out there trying to kill her. Not to mention all her dreams and memories of all her past lives with Nick that all end in tragedy. They are desperate for answers on how to break this cycle while at the same time trying not to repeat past mistakes. But the both of them are playing with a half empty deck of cards and often times, the story would revolve around them simply living their lives as best they could cause they’d run out of leads. Some of that dragged for me, I wanted them boots to the ground and chasing lead after lead. But the flip side, is that spending that time with Quinn and Nick is also deeply satisfying since you know they’ve been ripped off in so many other lifetimes and they deserve what they can have together.

This isn’t simply a romance between Nick and Quinn. There is a deep deep sense of pure intimacy between these two characters and it’s portrayed so brilliantly in this book. If any book truly describes two people who are true soul mates - it’s this one.

I loved the way the story picks up and how so many questions get answered. We finally get to see Quinn and Nick win. And the end of the book has a link to a bonus epilogue and it was MAGICAL. oh man I loved it.

There are also lots of questions not answered. Mainly centered around Quinn’s relatives and ancestors as well as Nick’s. But it’s clearly done this way as a set up for future books.

I LOVED THESE BOOKS. fantastic and original read I’ll be recommending.
