Navy SEAL Sean MacKay’s best friend and teammate is murdered in the line of duty. Before he died, he sent the missing formula to his sister. Now MacKay is ordered to secure the formula and protect his best friend’s sister from the terrorists. Sounds like an easy job for a SEAL, right? Not when the sister is the woman you fell in love with six years ago and broke her heart when you left without a word.

This is a really really good book. Petie McCarty writes with great insight into the thoughts of Mac/Sean and Cory. The story opens with Cory at her lake resort Slowly we are offered glimpses of their past relationship and the reasons for their lack of trust. I loved Mac to bits. A hard upbringing forges him into the man he is. Cory lost her family, everyone leaves.... I don't want to give anything away so I must simply say, read it.... OMG, Petie... That ending.. Totally unexpected. Loved it... ...more
Second chance romance, suspense and that hidden angel watching over it all. Petie McCarty’s THE ANGEL AND THE SEAL brings two lonely souls back together under the worst of conditions, accusations of treason, international terrorism and loss. I have had the pleasure of reading all of Petie McCarty’s Angel Mystery series, and her latest, The Angel and the SEAL is my favorite to date. It is fast pace and action packed from start to finish.

Ms. McCarty has built a good suspense where a run- down lake resort is falling prey to local saboteur as well as a threat of international terrorism. The scenarios are realistically presented, and the author lays out the various threats such that plot tension is high and the question of “who dunnit” i

This book is my favorite in the series – and one of my top favs from Petie McCarty!!!

This is the third book I’ve read from the impressive writer, Petie McCarty. A few months ago I had the privilege of reading her book, “No Cowboys No Angels,” which is part of the Mystery Angels Romances Book Series and I totally loved it, so I was very excited to read her latest work, “The Angel and the SEAL,” which also falls into the same book series.

Petie’s writing only continues to improve, grow, and expand

A man is murdered after he steals a nerve gas formula from terrorists. The Navy believes this man to be a traitor and had the formula sent to his sister, Cory in the States. The Navy sends Seal Sean MacKay aka Mac to Cory’s resort near Mt. St. Helens to retrieve the formula and to find out if his teammate was a traitor or not. Did Cory’s brother send her the formula? Is he a traitor?

There is just one little problem with this plan, Mac is in love will Cory and has been since the day he left. Cor

I really enjoyed this book, I think part of it was the setting which is an old cabin-like resort. While on a lake, although called a resort, it was built many years before as a fisherman’s dream place. Now that the father is dead, his daughter is running it; trying to keep the books on the plus side of the ledger line and really having problems. This has such excellent characters. I especially loved an old manager named Vern who has had more to do with Cory’s upbringing than anyone. He was my fa ...more

There were moments that touched my heart with this story. I loved the interactions between Cory and Mac. The secrets being kept from Cory, the danger surrounding both of them, and the intrigue on a more local level kept this story interesting. I enjoyed all the characters within this small town, and I look forward to more in this series.

I received a copy of this story through Goddess Fish Promotions and this is my unsolicited review.

I really enjoyed this book. The story line is very good with a lot of really likable characters. This is a story that shows that no matter who you are or what your circumstances is, God is always there for you and His time is not necessarily your time. A really really enjoyable read.

"The SEAL's Angel" is a contemporary romance with military elements that combines a reunion story with a mystery and features a sexy SEAL, Lt. Sean MacKay, who has several goals and the determination to achieve them. Unfortunately, what he wants and what he gets may be two different things, especially since he has to deal with not only his superior officer’s expectations but also his own feelings of guilt, and the lack of cooperation from the woman he is determined to protect—from hims

This is a well written, multi-layered, and a highly entertaining romantic suspense. The characters are believable and have depth to them bringing them to life on the pages of the book.

I was really intrigued by the idea of an angel being in the story. Evidently they are working behind the scenes or in secret to be unveiled at the end of the book. I like mysteries also, so this aspect was not unlike figuring out a whodunit. The book started out with telling us a great deal about action that happened in the past. I kind of felt like I would have liked to have gotten to know the brother and his team instead of hearing about it. But then that would have been an action adventure no ...more

The Angel & the Seal gives the title couple 3 challenges: (1) Cory’s and Matt’s second-chance romance that’s on-again/off-again, plagued by insecurities and jealousy; (2) continuing acts of sabotage on Cory’s already troubled resort, aimed at putting her out of business; and (3) a barrage of violent attacks by mysterious Syrians who believe that Cory possesses a formula for a nerve agent, related to her brother’s and Matt’s careers as black-op Seals. That’s enough suspense for any reader! I love ...more

Great story!!!
4.5 Stars
The entire book revolves around Cory Rigatero and Navy SEAL Lieutenant Sean "Mac" McKay. There are three story lines running through this book. The first is after six years and breaking Corey's heart, Mac has come back to town. The second is the threat of treason hanging above Corey's deceased brother's name. And finally, someone wants Cory to sell her resort and is willing to go to extreme lengths to make it happen. If you weave these three threads together it makes for a
I really enjoyed this new-to-me author. Ms. McCarty does an admirable job of portraying her characters, but I think her real strength comes from her description of settings. It was easy to visualize the lodge that Cory was working so hard to save and the very real threat of masked assailants entering her house after dark.
While I like Mac, I thought that some of his actions didn’t properly portray his occupation as a SEAL and the romance sometimes felt forced instead of natural.
Overall, a good re
Oh, I do love a man in uniform, even if it’s on paper. Mac turns up to protect his best friend’s sister, or does he. Problems start as soon as he arrives, and things just get worse and worse. Is he the good guy she thinks or is he there to destroy her life?

Not telling the answers because it would spoil the magic, and this book is magic.

I give this book 5 out of 5 clouds.
