This one was just so good, this is the second book ive read by this author and I have enjoyed both so very much.
This one features at its centre Demyan the head of the Bratva and Larissa.
Larissa and her sister Calina are twins and after a supposed accident kills there hacker father Calini suffering from brain damage is institutionalised, her sister lies low while providing for her the only way she knows how with her less than legal computer skills.
But after her sister not realising the consequences of her actions steals money from the Bratva with a laptop she snuck into her Larissa knows the only way to save her sister is to switch places.
So Demyan is ice cold from the onset.
He is set in his ways and likes order in his life.
He is immaculate and very particular not only in his work but also in his playtime.
He is at heart a sadist and gets off to a degree on his partner's pain.
Training his new kitten in how to please him to pay off her debt is going to be his pleasure.
Larissa is not stupid she is aware that the way to get through this is to behave she is also surprised to actually like the way that Demyan makes her feel.
It's not in my opinion really that dark of a read, maybe a 3 on a scale of 10
This was told from dual pov which is always my favourite.
I do so adore stories where the anti-hero stays true to himself and the heroine accepts him for that so this one definitely didn't disappoint in that regards as Demyan has no intention of escaping his brothers in the Bratva, being originally an orphan they are his chosen family and his bride will now be apart of that extended family.
I also really enjoyed the ending here.
On a final note, this can easily be read as a standalone.
This was a very easy read that I have no issues recommending at all.
I voluntary reviewed a copy of The Bratva's Bride (Wicked Doms #2).

Oh boy Demyan but you really did kidnap the wrong woman???????

Oh how I enjoyed reading Demyan and Larissa's dark and intense story from the beginning till that very moving epilogue. Larissa was nobody's doormat although she would do anything to same her mentally ill twin sister, Calina!

This story was not your predictable story in the least and the twists and turns will leave you guessing for these flawed characters.

After Maksym was kidnapped, I really would enjoy reading his story too. This man has demons but really unclear about his story with his lady love! And what about Calina's caregiver and friend, Glen Gustav? Flilip?

All of these men need their stories told too!

THE BRATVA’S BRIDE D.E.L.I.V.E.R.S! JANE HENRY’S MAFIA ROMANCES ARE LIKE AN ADDICTION AND I’M AN ADDICT WAITING FOR MY NEXT FIX.

I just finished my binge read of The Bratva’s Bride by author Jane Henry and I couldn’t have been more pleased. Demyan and Larissa will steal your breath along with your heart. I loved the plot, the twists and mostly, I just loved this couple.

I’ll start by saying I’m in looooooove with Demyan!!! You will be too. He’s soooo possessive, incredibly alpha, a bit scary and VERY GROWLY!! Everything I love in a dark dominant alpha mafia hero/antihero is jammed packed into this one character.

I mean really, there is nothing hotter than this growly Russian Bratva boss, licking his chops, circling his prey and exacting his power over his newly acquired bride to be.

He’s the whole scary, sexy, swoony, drool-worthy, badass package. I didn't just want to take a big ole bite right out of Mr. Dominate Me while secretly wishing I could take Larissa’s place (which is interesting given the plot twist) while he meted out his hurt so good punishments. I wanted to devour him whole!!

I adored Larissa’s character. A heroine sure to please everyone. She is strong, yet vulnerable. She’s on a mission to save her twin sister and that mission could cost her her own life.

Demyan’s wants what was stolen from his organization. He will make one woman pay for her crime. But what if that comes at a cost to another? Will the debt be paid? Will she submit or forfeit her life? Time will tell.

Jane Henry writes the best Dominant mafia romances and as always, hooked me like a desperate fish in the first chapter and once I was done, she left me floundering on dry land wanting more more more. Her books are like an addiction and I’m already suffering withdrawals and begging for my next fix. So, it’s no surprise that I’m hoping that Maksym’s story is not too far from my greedy little grasp.

Would I recommend this sexy, thrilling and suspenseful mafia romance? You bet I would. So, if you haven’t already, go grab your copy of The Bratva’s Bride and get ready for a fantastic 5-star thrill ride.

Warning: Offensive language towards the disabled.

I’ve never left a review before, but this one left a particularly bad taste in my mouth and that was due to the narrative's treatment of disability. When Demyan takes the woman he thinks is Calina, she is in a mental institution. Though he has his suspicions, there’s no way he could be sure in the beginning that she is not in fact mentally ill. Therefore, he subjects a woman who, for all he knows, might actually be suffering from psychosis to kidnapping, sexual assault, and a beating with a cane. In addition, the mentally ill – legally and morally – cannot consent; therefore Ms. Henry has written a non-consent book (from Demyan's point of view) that may as well have been written about a pedophile (a child can also – legally and morally – never give consent). Finally, at one point, Demyan tells “Calina” that she doesn’t appear to be “a simpleton” and then never apologizes for using this term (never mind that mental illness and cognitive disabilities are not the same thing). This abled slur – which is never challenged by any character in the book and is only one among many offensive terms – I find particularly troubling as Ms. Henry has written about the disabled before in a much more enlightened way (Begin Again).

Ms. Henry is one of the better writers in this genre (by which I mean: her sentences are grammatical; there are few editing/spelling errors; and her characters have some subjectivity) and I appreciate that in a genre suffused with young, white, middle-class, abled-body characters, she added some diversity in the Bound to You series. But this book is awful and not for me.

Suspense, darkness, alpha male, strong female, loyalty, passion, what more do you want in a story? This second book in the Wicked Doms series is a little darker than the first and is oh so good! We met Demyan before, but now we get his story. He takes his job as head of the Bratva very seriously and when it comes to revenge he is a master. Until he meets his match with Calina. She is taken and meant to pay after she steals from the Bratva, but there is something about her that he cannot resist. But will he be able to keep her safe now? Henry writes this suspenseful story, with not only a dark aura, but adds a passion that is unmatched. I love her characters, each being complex, and we get to see all the layers as the story unfolds. this one has some unexpected twists and turns and kept me on edge until the very end. I had to stay up to finish!

With Demyan, Henry needed to pick a narrator who not only can pull off a Russian accent, but do it with an authoritative sound that will not only instill fear, but passion as well. The choice of Wen Ross gave it all to us. His narration is perfect, bringing the dark alpha dom to life, making us cringe and love him all at the same time. To compliment this character, we need a strong female, with emotional baggage and a voice that has the ability to tremor or lovable. Kai Kennicott is that narrator, blending with Ross and bringing this dual point of view story to life. It's one you do not want to miss.

Sigh . . . . Ms Henry once again works her magic in this tale of revenge, retribution, hacking, danger, tension suspense, sizzling steam & more.
Larissa (h) is frantic when she discovers just what her brilliant but mentally injured twin sister Calina has done & just WHO she's done it to: The Bratva. The terrifying & brutal Bratva. And Larissa knows the Bratva will come to wreak payment & she will not let her sister die. And thus Larissa manages to switch places with her sister in time for the Bratva to claim Larissa instead . . . .
Damyan (anti-H) is not only the collector of Calina, he is the current head of the Bratva in this area of Russia. He makes his way into the mental hospital to Calina/Larissa & calmly, coldly removes her to his compound & control. But once he sees the beautiful woman his plans for retribution change; he advises Calina/Larissa she is now his 'property' who will 'service' him at his whim, in any way, at any time & any place he so chooses. She is to be compliant, respectful & submissive or swift & harsh physical punishment will follow. Every hour she 'works' will be deducted from the 3.2 million ruble debt owed to him & his Bratva brethren.
And to prevent Damyan from finding Calina, Larissa agrees to his demands. But she finds it hard to initially avoid punishment, & while she isn't a true masochist, she is confused by how stimulated she is by Damyan's punishments, pleasuring & stern dominance. By how 'right' it feels to be comforted by him, how she begins to look forward to interacting with him. And she soon has to remind herself that Damyan is her CAPTOR & she is nothing but his captive . . . .
The author, as always, does an excellent job in drawing the reader into the minds, lives & situations of her characters through alternating POV's. The reader feels Larissa's terror for her sister's life, her confusion & fear at the situation she's been thrust into & finally her slow realization that she just may be coming to feel more for Damyan then he could ever feel for her. And the reader feels Damyan's denial that his cold controlled mind & heart could in any way be thawing for his slave, his Little One, his Kitten because she is merely there to slake his sexual needs & possibly aid him in acquiring a new & profitable business client.
There is suspense, danger, action, steamy sex & the hope of love between a cold ruthless Bratva boss & a beautiful hacker trying to keep her lovely head above water while surrounded by sharks in this excellent story.

Compelling, STEAMY, yet darkly romantic this is a phenomenal MUST-READ Bratva novel!
I am SOOOOOOOO in love with author Jane Henry’s way of writing. She has the most marvelous way of introducing her characters, who feel more like close confidants by the time the STEAM and action roll in, and who then take Henry’s readers on an emotional roller-coaster ride that is difficult to leave before the last word of the novel is read. So, that is my warning – “THE BRATVA’S BRIDE” is a darkly compelling ROMANCE, with amazing characters who burst with realism through Henry’s prose. Readers may find those characters woven so deeply into their hearts that even a MASTERFUL epilogue like the one Henry gives us in “THE BRATVA’S BRIDE” may still leave them bereft when they must leave this world that Henry has so artfully created. Add all this to author Henry’s skillful use of dual narration to reveal not only the motivations and reactions of Demyan and Larissa but also to tell the story in first person; it is no wonder that her readership is growing exponentially. If you have not read one of Jane Henry’s novels and understand that a storm clears the air so the sun may shine brightly, then I STRONGLY suggest that you start with Henry’s latest release, “THE BRATVA’S BRIDE.” More simply stated, I could not put it down until I’d finished reading every last word! (Sleep is over-rated.) I volunteered to read an advance copy of “THE BRATVA’S BRIDE” and am voluntarily submitting this HONEST 5+STAR review. If I could award more stars, I would. “THE BRATVA’S BRIDE,” like many of Henry’s books before it, will be placed in the FAVORITES collection on my Kindle. Again, I STRONGLY recommend that you get your copy of “THE BRATVA’S BRIDE” today! Happy pages! 😉

I was really looking forward to read the whole series after Sadie and Kazimir's HEA.
The blurb sounded promising and I must say I'm not at all disappointed by the whole book 🥰.

Our Hero was the perfect combination of alpha male yet a sincere heart. I loved all his vulnerable moments where he actually showed who he is.
Larissa is such a strong headed woman with loyalty as her plus point.

I don't normally prefer a dark romance but fortunately in this series its not dark dark, somehow bearable.

[I received a digital arc for an honest review]

The Bratva's Bride is the second book, but can be read as a standalone, in Jane Henry's Wicked Doms series. This is a dark Russian mafia romance that will command you from the beginning and not lose your attention.

"I feel your pulse," he murmurs "Does it quicken with excitement, kitten? Fear of what awaits you? Or both?"

My favorite aspects of dark romances is the bad guy who you can't help but fall for because when they fall they are all in. Demyan is scary, sexy, dominating and absolutely mouth watering. The way he commands and takes control of Larissa is hot as f***. His internal conflict over actually caring about her as she becomes his weakness is just as much of a turn on. Sometimes in dark romances the heroine is naive and lacking and that is far from the case in this one. Larissa is brave, smart, and loyal. What she sacrifices for the safety of her sister is admirable. She even sasses off to Demyan and quickly figures out how far she can push him. Demyan and Larissa are both well written strong characters and together are intense. The sex scenes are dark, rough and delicious!

"I want to be both the one that makes her cry and the one that brings her comfort"

The Bratva's Bride is a fantastic high tension, dark romance. Another addicting story by Jane Henry and I can't wait for more!

"What have I gotten myself into? I'm alone with a man who's both beautiful and terrifying, like an angel cast into hell."

The Bratva's Bride is the second book in the Wicked Doms series by Jane Henry and is told in dual point of views. If you dislike the BDSM trope, this is not going to be the novel for you.

Larissa Brague will do everything in her power to protect her twin sister Calina, even if it means swapping places with her and getting kidnapped by a drop dead gorgeous member of the Bratva. Even if it means being his submissive, even if it means throwing away all her morals and letting this man have his wicked way with her. She'll do absolutely everything to save her sister.

Nobody steals from the Bratva, and those that decide to act upon bravery and thievery get exactly what they deserve. After Demyan finds out Calina stole from the Bratva, he makes it his mission for this woman to become his mistress and his submissive in order to pay back every dime she's stolen from him.

My Thoughts:

Oh my lord, when it comes to The Bratva's Bride my thoughts are completely scattered. I liked this novel but sadly I didn't love it and I'll get to the reason why in a moment. I do want to state, if you are not a fan of BDSM novels, this is not the one for you. Demyan makes Christian Grey look like a softie. Just be warned some of the material crosses a few lines where morality is concerned.

When I first started The Bratva's Bride, I was a tad bit bored. It started with a somewhat suspenseful vibe which usually hooks me in from the start. But this vibe I wasn't buying. I couldn't get into it at all. In fact, It took me a little over thirty percent of the book for me to get into the storyline. When you have a story that involves twins and a switcheroo, you have to write something completely out of this world so it doesn't come across as predictable. For me, I predicted everything from the start and my predictions came out right.

Now let's get to what I liked about this novel. Jane Henry is a new to me author, I was a little worried when I found out The Bratva's Bride was the second book in a series. Have no fear, This one can be read as a standalone. I do have to say though, I was absolutely swept away by Jane Henry's writing style. If anything kept me reading, it was this one simple thing.

However, I loved the writing style and the darkness this novel brought to the table. But I wasn't a fan of some of the material. That's on me, so if you like near to extreme bdsm material, you will probably be a fan of this one. I however was not a huge fan of a few sexy time moments. They weren't at all sexy and made me slightly uncomfortable. When anyone says no, the answer is no and you should stop no matter how angry you are.

Now onto the characters:

Demyan lives with demons, his soul is as black as night, but throughout this novel we get glimpses into the light his soul also holds. This man lets his demon's overrule his every action. He's violence and unending passion all rolled into one package. Which in the end is a very volatile combination. I liked Demyan in some ways, I loved his fierce alpha tendencies he showed towards Calina (Larissa) and his fierce protectiveness over her and any harm (that isn't by his hand) that shall come her way. But I didn't like when he let his demons out to play and they completely took over his sense of control. These moments of pleasure/pain came off as very abusive and were not at all sexy in any given shape or form.

Larissa is a protector in her own sense. This woman put her mind, body, and soul in the hands of a captor in order to save her sister. Now I don't know if that is true bravery or true stupidity in every form of the word. but I really enjoyed Larissa's need to control the situation and I loved those moments she tried to play Demyan.

Overall, The Bratva's Bride was just an okay read for me. There were things I absolutely loved about it but there were those situations that made me extremely uncomfortable. I am a huge fan of dark romances, and this book definitely went beyond material I am comfortable with. The Bratva's Bride is extremely dark, which is a reason why I requested an advanced copy in the first place.

Would I Recommend this book to you:
If you love Captor/Captive romances, BDSM, and insanely dark reads, you should definitely give this one a read. I do think you'll love it. But if you aren't a fan of at least one of the three (Capter, Bdsm, Dark romances) I don't think you'll like this one. That's just my opinion.

There are quite a few trigger warnings that come along with this book. If you are triggered by any harsh sexual material and still want to read this one, I highly recommend you go into this one with your eyes wide open.

The Bratva’s Bride is a stand alone romance set within Ms. Henry’s Wicked Doms Series. Calina stole from the Bratva, thinking that they are the ones who killed her father, and now the Bratva is after her. When Demyan comes personally for her, he sees a beauty and intelligence that must become his; his to claim, his to master, and his to wed. But when her secrets break his trust, will Calina’s future only hold death?

Holy smokes, this book is intense, full of steam, full of angst, full of sacrifice, and full of love. Demyan and his Calina are so amazing and there were twists and turns in this book that just had me enthralled. Some I knew were coming, others I didn’t see, and all of them had me at the edge of my seat. This was definitely a book that the next thing I knew, it was way past my bedtime, but refused to quit because it was just soooooo good! Demyan was extreme. He was dominant, full of anger and distrust, but I loved how he acted around his Calina, and was able to soften some of his harsher sides of himself. Calina... well, I don’t want to give anything away about her, but dang, she blew my mind, everything that she was willing to do for those she loved, and the inner strength she possessed to take care of and love Demyan. I loved this book. I devoured this book. I was reading this book holding my breath just waiting to see what would come next. I can’t wait to see what the next book will bring!!

HELLO my new book boyfriend Demyan. He's just the way that I like them , hot , sexy, nasty, and little OTT. Thank goodness we had Larissa (h) that was not TSTL. She was well matched with Demyan. I hope that there is more to their story because I wanted more of them. Will definitely be reading the 1st and any subsequent books in this series

A good read

I admit that the whole dom/sub thing isn't my jam. I am not opposed to some swats on the behind here and there, but that's the extent of my comfort zone. As such, this exceeded my comfort zone. That said, I chose to read it even after the first book had the same element, so I knew what I was getting myself into. I enjoyed this book outside of the punishment elements.
I can handle a book where the main male character starts out as a real jerk as long as he redeems himself, and is sorry, by the end. Luckily Jane Henry gave us that with this book, and it was delicious.
I liked the suspense of what would happen to the other characters, when (or if) he would find out about her, and how he would react. Would the politician get his hands on her? Would her friend try to save her? There was a lot to keep me interested! I do still wonder what went through one character's head toward the end when he sold out one character for another. I won't name names or get any more specific to avoid potential spoilers, but... I would be very interested in what he was thinking.
Overall, an enjoyable read. I would recommend this book, and its predecessor, to those who enjoy captive/kidnapping/mafia. And I do. I really, really do.

Trigger warning: this contains elements of dubious consent at the beginning, and what I would argue is physical abuse although the book refers to it as "spanking"- caning, strapping, multiple instances of whipping with a belt.

Ms Henry has managed to write another dark, raw and intense book.
She is gifted with the fine art of introducing characters that are truly
compelling and burst with realism. She offers her readers a chilly
portrayal of the dangerous Russian Mafia with its many layers of
brutality.

Larissa Brague's life was thrown into chaos when she had to swap
identities with her twin sister Calina to keep her safe from the
Bratva Brotherhood. No ones steals money from the Brotherhood,
and especially from it's leader,Demyan.Demyan was out for retribution,
he sought out and captured Larissa. She would be his entertainment,a
mouse caught by a cat.He will play with her,toy with her until he he
has his revenge and her debt payed in full.Larissa finds herself in a
conundrum,Demyan is ruthless and cruel but her body demands more.
He dominates her mind, body and soul as she bends to his mastery.

I enjoyed the dynamics between Demyan and Larissa as it added such
complexity to their relationship.A relationship that was raw, violent,
vengeful but with moments of hidden strength.
Ms Henry delivered another incredible book that took my breath away.
She was uncompromising in her depictation of a complicated and at
times a brutal relationship. It was well written, descriptive with a thrilling
conclusion.

FULLY CULPABLE FOR YOUR ACTIONS

Once again, Ms. Jane Henry has spun a tale that had me captivated and intrigued as the story unfolds. Not everything is as simple as it seems and the twists and turns along the way will keep you on the edge of your seat. The story will be about two stranger who will come together when they are caught up in a case of theft—stealing from the Bratva can be deadly. Calina Brague will become the prisoner, property, and pawn of Demyan Federov. How far will Demyan be willing to go to make her pay for her sins?

“Maybe I can use Calina to gain the respect of my peers and associates. Outward, my wife, while she suits my purposes. Behind closed doors, my captive.”

What a roller-coaster ride of intense action, mystery, suspense, angst, and discoveries. A true case of ‘the sins of the father falling on his children’ will have the pages turning as the tale unfolds.

“So now I pay. And part of me wonders if this was always meant to be. That someday, I would pay for the sins my father committed. If some day, I would have to right his wrongs.”

The plot will have Demyan ordering the kidnapping of Calina for stealing money from him and the brotherhood. He will have her locked in a small room, punished, and used for his pleasure. There is no trial for her crimes, she is guilty, and he is judge, jury, and executioner. What he says is the final word. Treating her like a whore to work off what she owes is part of demeaning her for what she has done.

“You’ll have a servant to take care of your needs, but there will be no other luxuries unless I grant them. You’re my prisoner and whore here, Calina. Make sure you understand that. Make no mistake. A gilded cage this might be, but you are caged.”

“I get it,” I say softly, looking away from him. Don’t rock the boat. Don’t push the boundaries. Do as you’re told.”

The story is a fast-paced, action-pack romantic suspense. It has the good, the bad, and the ugly with life and death situations. What happens when things don’t work out as the Demyan expected? Is Calina expendable, now a pawn that is no longer needed? What will happen between her and Demyan? When his best man, Maksym, is kidnapped and brutalized, is this now war and how will that impact them? The story does have explicit sex scenes, along with punishments. It does not end on a cliff-hanger but with the belief that more stories are to come.

“My life is not mine to live anymore. I’ve given myself over to the Bratva—and there are worse things he could do to me than marry me. And the reality is—could I even stop it if I wanted to?”

“Will I do what it takes for me to learn my place in the brotherhood?”

Wickedly Demanding - Another Great Bratva Romance!

Once again, Jane Henry had me hooked with this second tale in the Wicked Doms series that I read it in one sitting. Larissa and Demyan's story is not easy or straightforward and the passion that ignited unexpectedly for both of them seems to soothe both as they develop into so much more than either counted on. Demyan is dark, focused and one of a strong and powerful brotherhood who takes his commitment to 'family' extremely seriously. Larissa is just as devoted but provides the light, innocence, love and acceptance that Demyan needs and desires.

As the dark brutal fight between the Bratva continues in an on going theme that threads it's way throughout this book, it keeps us wanting to see how it all plays out but happy as Demyan and Larissa's story provides light in the darkness. Jane Henry has managed to write a story that can be read as a standalone but one that also weaves a subplot having begun in book one, The Bratva's Baby, that I recommend you read for a full understanding of this world she is creating. I can't wait to see more of the brotherhood and hope we see Maksym begin his journey to finding peace in the next offering of the Wicked Doms series.

Ripping off the Bratva💀, or Russian mob, is never a good idea. Stealing from them inside corrupt Russia, is insanely stupid and dangerous.

Half Russian, half American woman, Larissa, finds out her twin sister👯 has done the unthinkable, she hacks into some Bratva💀 accounts and steals from them. When they come for her, Larissa💃💋 takes her sisters place and becomes the prisoner of the leader Demyan🐺🔪🔫🍆⛲👋. Payback is Hell! Or is it?

ARC Received from Bookfunnel 🌀
I also Got The book with KU.

Demyan🐺🔪🔫🍆⛲👋 is a super intense killer, a man full of seething anger, a man who is used to using women. He's a Spankmeister👋👋, a binder, a man that misses no nuance, accepts no excuses....

I really liked this very Adult Bratva💀🔪🔫 romance!

Does the idea of reading a story about a Russian bad guy get you flustered? Are you eagerly reaching for chocolate (insert snack of choice) at the thought of a tattoo’d alpha male and his innocent captive? Then look no further than Jane Henry’s “Bratva’s Bride” and one-click already because this story is all that and more. So. Much. More. Likes/Loves: I’ll start with the obvious. I loved the premise of the story. The idea of mistaken (or false) identities always makes for good storytelling and Ms. Henry did an amazing job with it. Both Demyan and Larissa are strong characters apart and together, they make for an amazing team. Their scenes together are electrifyingly hot in all the right ways and they keep getting better and better as the story progresses. “Bratva’s Bride” is book 2 in the new Wicked Doms series and Ms. Henry has outdone herself once again bringing readers a swoon-worthy story that you’ll want to read again and again.

I don't know how to start.
1. I kept on reading, because this book is a real paige turner! I couldn't put it down until I finished it.
2. Demyan is hot and so damn loyal and protective to his brothers ... and also to Larissa/Calina. You can see how his wall is cracking up bit by bit for her.
3. Larissa/Calina is also loyal and protective to her sister ... and this is why she were lying to Demyan. But by the time she got to know (and love) him it's harder for her to keep it.

As he uncovers her secret my eyes got somehow wet. Really wet. My heart were blooding for both - Demyan and Larissa - but my heart made a happy dance later and my eyes were drying.

This is how deep you get sucked in by their story and this is what a really good storytelling is doing to you: you feel, laugh and cry with them.

Get your copy and get sucked in.
I highly recommend this book.

This book started intensely. What in the world was going on?? What was going to happen?? I was gripping my kindle with slightly clammy hands and racing heart, worried for ‘Calina.’ And honestly, that edgy feeling stayed with me on and off through out the book. Calina got herself into a nerve wracking situation. I really liked Calina and understood her. However, Demyan was a much harder man to figure out. When he let himself go a little, it was sexy-hot between them, but it was really unclear what he really felt about her. The story was interesting and hard to put down. Near the end it went from a steady pace to moving much more quickly. I wish this was a series and we were reading about some of the other characters in the book. That being said, I really enjoyed this sexy, Russian Bratva read!

This is the first book of this author I read, and despite being the second book in the series, can be read as a standalone.

Here we have the story of the twins Calina and Larissa.
Calina stole from the Bratva, and upon being discovered, is turned into a submissive by none other than the man with the blackest and most tormented soul in the story, Demyan.
Demyan manages to capture Calina and his desire for her body has no limits.

The problem is that he actually captured the twin, Larissa. And that was of purpose. Larissa would do anything to protect her twin, including becoming the object of pain/pleasure for Demyan.

The book is dark, strong and can be a trigger for people more sensitive to the BDSM theme.
The novel itself is interesting to those who like the subject.
I do love the cover.

Can I be a Russian Bride??!!

I’m a lover of Russian Bratva style books and this doesn’t disappoint! When Demyan discovers something going on within the Bratva, and meets Calina, he knows that she is special, but he can’t love or do relationships, so he puts up a barrier. But is Calina who she says she is? Can she put up with a Bratva boss? These two have such major chemistry it’s sizzling! This story kept me captivated from beginning to end and I read it in one sitting, it’s just that amazing! I look forward to reading more by this author as I truly loved her words! A definite must read!

I hadn’t read the first book in this series, but it worked just fine as a stand-alone. Loved the setup, of the heroine sacrificing herself for her sister. Loved the sexy BDSM scenes once she was captured.

It’s always difficult to bring logic and believability to these sorts of scenarios, where a couple goes from perhaps wanting to kill each other all the way to love, but the author managed it nicely.

Demyan’s lair and his Bratva boss persona were quite believable, and very fun. He was an excellent dominating alpha, who slowly begins to discover his heart.

I borrowed the first three in this series around the same time, but after reading the first one, and finding it so repulsively abusive and disgusting that I could not finish it, I only read the first few chapters of each of the subsequent books to verify they were equally disturbing and returned them without completing them. If you have a problem with non-consensual sexual encounters, sexual humiliation, degradation of women, sexual assault, physical abuse, kidnapping and Stockholm Syndrome being billed as "love" then I would stay away from this author.
