Another fantastic book from one of my favorite series. Janie Crouch never fails to deliver thrilling, funny, amazing chemistry and suspenseful stories. Shadow was no exception.

Once again, there are some intense scenes and heartbreaking moments, but the strength of everyone involved was fantastic. It was so wonderful to see so many of the characters from the other books in the series and also the connection to Bree and Tanner!!

There are so many secrets and surprises in this story that it was imp

Heath was more down to earth then I was expecting! In previous stories, he flowed in and out of the shadows, utilizing his skills where best needed and came across as a machine. Here, he’s got heart, frustrations, and actually played emotional back-up to leading lady, Lyn, quite well! He was also smart enough to let Lyn stand up for herself and didn’t treat her like a fragile piece of glass.

I loved Lyn’s introverted personality, love of books, and her obsession for languages made her a book bes

Janie Crouch is back at it again with the next book in the Linear Tactical series. Shadow is book number six in what is becoming one of my all time favorite romantic suspense series to date. The guys who make up Linear Tactical are hot hot hot… melt worthy hot!

Heath Cavanaugh, code name Shadow, has been in the shadows for quite some time, often away and out of the country mainly helping with overseas negotiations and kidnap/ransom cases. Now, he is back in Oak Creek finally ready to get so

Action, danger, and threats, mind manipulations and international crimes, sweet yet passionate romance with your best friend's baby sister - Shadow have it all, and it is wrapped into an entertaining and fast-moving tale that holds your attention.
The oldest and most ardent Crouch fans (waving my hand vigorously) might recognize some of the base storyline from a novella, Covert Intents, that she first published 2015. There was a scene that triggered the recognition for me, yet it just whet my ap

I have been hooked on this series and the characters from the very first book!!

Heath and Lyn’s story was exactly what I was looking for when I started reading. It had intrigue, romance (of course), suspense and much danger!!!!

Heath Kavanaugh was working undercover for the FBI. It wasn't a glamorous position but as a janitor at Wyoming Commonwealth University he might be able to find out who was selling government secrets at the university. If he was successful, he could stop the sale of this information. It would be very dangerous if it got into the wrong hands. Doing this job while there was constant murmuring in his head wasn't easy, but he pushed through anyway. He'd been trying to get answers about the noise in h ...more

I don’t know what it is about Janie’s writing, but once you start reading, you can’t stop. The plot always sucks you in; the characters always grab you, and Shadow is no exception. Lyn is such a great heroine, with flaws she’s aware of and valiantly trying to overcome, and with some really likeable traits, too – loved the swearing in foreign languages! Heath is awesome as well, trying to deny the attraction for a woman who is “not his type” and then dealing with the aftermath. The plot is fantas ...more

Shadow by Janie Crouch is Book 6 in Linear Tactical series. This book features
Heath Kavanaugh aka Shadow and Jacquelyn (Lyn) Norris as the main characters. They were just phenomenal to read in this story. The plot was great and it was awesome to see other books/characters in the series make an appearance and also the connection to Bree and Tanner in this book.
Without giving anything away, Heath and Lyn make a great couple. Their path to one another is paved with sinister conspiracies & pre
Another short night's sleep thanks to the literary talents of Janie Crouch. Once I starting reading this book, I could not put it down until I finished it. Heath was mostly in the background of the previous books until he took on a major role in Ghost. Like Dorian and Ray, Heath was a victim of Project Crypt, left with voices inside his head that he couldn't understand and couldn't get rid of. He's desperate for answers, but his only lead is literally a dead end. So he buries the voices in the w ...more

Shadow is my new favorite in the Linear Tactical Series. I absolutely love Heath and Lyn. I enjoyed the easy conversation and chemistry between them and their developing relationship. I thought Janie’s choice of giving Lyn the quirky obsession of learning cuss words in foreign languages was brilliant and amusing. I laughed every time she used one! I also thought Janie did a wonderful job on the scenes dealing with the ramifications of Heath and Lyn finding out each other’s true identity and Gavi ...more

YES !!!!! Just when I thought this author couldn’t top the last book....she does it once again. The first book in this series Cyclone blew me away and then came Eagle, then Shamrock, then Angel and we can’t forget Ghost, each book blew me away, and each book easily became my favorite and once again this author doesn’t disappoint...except for the fact that now I have six books vying for the top spot and six hero and heroine couples vying for the #1 spot of all time favorite couples. Shadow is a blend of undercover ops, espionage, and treason. Heath once worked for a black ops arm of the US government-or so he thought. Turns out, it wasn't aboveboard at all and now he has a chip in his head. While the Linear Tactical guys are helping him figure out what to do, he takes an undercover mission for the FBI at a nearby college. His mission? Find out who is leaking biomedical tech info before its too late.

Rescue Required

This book introduces the lead characters in an auspicious manner. A woman of European heritage, who is the only daughter of the state’s Governor, refers to herself as “a black woman” because her grandmother was born in the Caribbean. The author further asserts that the same female character is disabled because she has a medical condition with several permanent treatment options. Huh. I wish that Ms. Crouch could conceptualise the problematic nature of representing an educated, wea

Janie Crouch does it again! Shadow is an amazing story!

I love the Linear Tactical series! Lyn and Heath seem like an unlikely pair! She is a Doctoral candidate, and he is a covert operative undercover (redundant?)! They find themselves embroiled in a sinister conspiracy, and against all obstacles find love! Of course, it entails a lot of ruminating and dangerous events to bring the couple totally together!
The Linear Tactical Team are wonderful characters and one of my all time favorite families!

I just finished reading this book and loved it so much that I hardly know where to start. I do know that it rates a 5+ Star rating from me when Amazon opens up for the reviews.
Let me start with the woman in this story....Lyn Norris. Well, there's more to her name just like there is more to this story. I'm not going to ruin it by explaining that because you can discover it just like I did. Just let me say that this woman was one interesting person and I can say that I have never encountered a mai

I received this book as an ARC for an honest and voluntary review. This is the 6th book in the Linear Tactical series, and all of them have been fast paced keep you on your toes books. In this installment we meet Heath code name Shadow, he's been in the Shadows, (pun intended) of employment at Linear, doing mostly over seas assignments. In the previous book, Ghost we learned about this nasty group called Project Crypt. Heath was also a member of Project Crypt, which started out as a government s ...more

So good, as always the author gives us part of the info we wanted and just makes us want more. In this book we focus on Heath as he tries to get answers about what was done to him during the secret project he was part of years ago. He does have symptom like Grace or Dorian: nosebleed etc but he has noise in his head that to him doesn't make sense and make him feel crazy.
He can't stop those noises but while working it quiets down

Another great book from this talented author who has caused me many a night of no or little sleep because once you start one of her Linear Tactical books I can guarantee you won't put it down until you turn that last page because who needs sleep

We have met Heat(Shadow) in a few of the books and he had a fairly major role in Ghost as he like Grace and Dorian is a product of the Crypt experiment but where they are deadly killers he has been protected from the action so to speak his problem he has

Let me start by saying I am a big Janie Crouch fan and have read all her books including the entire Linear Tactical series and the Risk Series. This is a standalone book and you do not need to read the others as the author does a great job giving you all the backgrounds as needed so it all makes sense. That being said reading the others not only gives you so much connections and history, but also is a ton of fun as the other books are all amazing. Ok, so that all being said, I really enjoyed thi ...more

I voluntarily reviewed a copy of "SHADOW" LINEAR TACTICAL" OMG!!!! What a brilliantly mindblowing suspense filled storyline full of intrigue, secrets, lies, humor, hot steamy scenes, angst, danger, kidnapping and twists that keep you glued to your seat.

Holy wow. This book led me though more twists, turns, double-crosses, and red herrings than I knew would fit in a single book. Much like Ghost’s story, my highly suspicious nature kicked in and I suspected everybody. Turns out, I wasn’t quite wrong – I wasn’t quite right either. Heath has flown under my radar in this series. I wasn’t paying any kind of attention to him until the previous book, and obviously I was missing out. This man is the same kind of alpha protector, with the same kind of no ...more

I absolutely loved this story!! It was a fantastic read! I was pulled in from beginning to end. Heath, aka Shadow, has hit a dead end on figuring out what the gibberish in his head is all about. He has been hanging out at Linear Tactical and so ends up going undercover for the FBI to stop the sale of a microchip on an university campus. The same campus that his best friend Gavin's little sister goes to. I loved getting to know Lyn. She is a fantastic character. She has been dealing with her brot ...more

A best friend's little sister romance done Janie Crouch style. The trope has been done and done again but add the Linear Tactical crew for some suspense and danger from the past for an unputdownable read. Heath is more talker than fighter, unlike so many of the Linear Tactical family. That's not to say he doesn't know his way around a sparring ring or how to handle himself in dangerous situations. Of course, he gets plenty of chances to show off more than one kind of skill in Shadow. Most of the ...more

This is the sixth book in this series. They are better read in order. Heath (Shadow) is sent undercover to help the FBI. He is poses as a janitor and a university. He knows that his teammate’s little sister goes to the same school but she shouldn’t be anywhere near where is he. Lyn Norris is studying dead languages and hiding it from her family. Another GREAT book from one of my favorite series –Janie Crouch keeps delivery thrilling, funny, smoking hot books for me to fall even more in love with Linear tactical squad.

I absolutely loved Lyn. She knew her limitation but that didn't stop her from doing what she loved and wanted. I loved how she stood up for herself. But what I loved most was the way she
effortlessly loved Heath. As for Heath; I didn't find him as intense I as did Dorian or Finn but that didn't stop me from falling for him

Shadow by Janie Crouch is the 6th book in this series. They are each stand Aline’s but I love a great series. This book is about Heath and Lyn. Heath has nonstop voices uttering nonsense in his head. Lyn is the girl from a house of testosterone. Her father and her brothers are all military/law enforcement and she wants nothing to do with that lifestyle in her love life. Heath is the perfect guy for her. He is part of the janitorial staff at her college where she is working on her dissertation. S ...more

Heath, a.k.a. Shadow, has been living with voices in his head since his recruitment by Project Crypt. Adept at languages and the ability to fade into the shadows during operations, he is an important asset to the clandestine program. With the project new defunct, Heath is left with the damage done to him during his time with the pseudo-governmental group.

Pulled into an FBI operation to protect important and potentially dangerous technology, Heath meets Lyn and, while she isn't his usual type, h
