Along with their new rabbit-eared companion, Hajime and Yue are ready to challenge one of the world's most perilous dungeons: the labyrinth of Miledi Reisen. As one of the ancient Liberators, Miledi boasted tremendous power, and her sadistic, trap-riddled lair won't go down easy. Inside its confines, Hajime and company find themselves unable to use any of their magic -- but he won't back down from the challenge. No matter what stands in his way, Hajime will fight his way back home to Earth!
Everyone in this manga is a smart*ss or comedic support...officially
We have a ton of action again, but the big suprise is almost everything is starting to include at least some degree of comedy, sarcasm to it. It's kind of insane. Not quite sure if it's a good thing or not yet. It did feel like they over did it a bit this time around. We also got a lot more info on the world at large this time finally, so that was good! Finally starting to see the bigger picture a bit.
I enjoy the manga for the most part but there are times where the panel layouts are confusing and the artwork doesn’t help; parts are too dark or the action makes no sense. What keeps me coming back is the characters with Yue my favorite.
I enjoyed the darker aspects of the earlier volumes this becoming light-hearted, or at least less filled with emotional despair. Lets see where this goes.
What can I say, I just didn't feel this one. It was OK. I don't really hate it and can't give you any major reasons why it isn't a 4-star or more except that while going through it I just felt somewhat *meh*.
While examining this *meh* feeling just now and flipping through the book again I would say the primary reason why -- it moves too fast. While the pages are unnumbered it's no more than a couple of hundred and you go through far too much material. Clearing this dungeon was (or should have been) a much bigger, longer pain in the butt than it showed.
When it comes to Arifureta I have a hard time not comparing the manga to the LN and as I've said from the start, the LN are way better than the manga.
Verdict: If you've not read the LN you'll probably dig this one more than I did. Also, pick up the Light Novels, they're entertaining and you'll find out a lot more about everyone.
