My daughter and I read this short, illustrated chapter book together at bed time. She really enjoyed the black and white pictures and story line. In this Butterfly Meadow adventure, the butterflies discover a cocoon that is just about ready to hatch. There is a storm brewing, and a strong wind sends the cocoon to the forest floor. Thanks to Skipper's quick thinking and bravery and the cooperation of her Butterfly Meadow friends, the cocoon is moved to safety just in time. These books are Scholastic publications and sadly, seem to be out of print for the most part. Scholastic does sell them in eBook format for $4.99 each, however, and several used copies are listed on Amazon. Good for those ready to begin chapter books OR a quick bed time read.

I liked this book because Buster (the dog) won't pay attention to Skipper because he just cares about getting the sheep into the shed before the storm. I like it because one sheep won't go in because of the beautiful butterfly, Skipper. And then finally, Buster looks up because the sheep says, "What a beautiful butterfly." Buster finally pays attention and you'll have to read the book to find out...

There was a cocoon and inside it was another butterfly fairy.
