Eric Gordon Hill OBE was a popular author and illustrator of children's picture books, best known for his character Spot the Dog. His works have been widely praised for their contributions to child literacy. He was appointed Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in the 2008 New Year Honours.
It might be easier to hit my reading goal this year than I thought! The pages introducing “round” and “triangle” are a favorite around these parts, because my baby has taste.
I kind of want to give this 3.5 stars, but since my most common book rating seems to be a 4 I usually round down when I'm in the middle....
An old book of my sister's that my parents brought back out when Gavin was born. We love Spot, so I have a soft spot for the whole series. This one just has Spot showing off different personal possessions and saying what shape they are. (What a lucky dog to have his own kite...)
My sister loves to make fun of the "Spot's triangle is a triangle shape" page. Couldn't they have found anything else that's triangle-shaped? Although it's funny to think of a dog playing the triangle....
