This was so much fun. It is a murder mystery, a dead principal of a school, a perfect whodunit, investigated by a award-winning, foul-mouthed, mother of three, Parker

My first book by Dave Cravens, and the first few pages had me laughing with unadulterated joy at the sheer brashness of the main character. I could feel her impudence, her boldness, and her righteousness. The author has done a brilliant job giving me a storyline which is cozy in the outer theme but a pure murder investigation in it

This book was a hoot! Parker really is my spirit animal - or rather person! From the start Parker seems to have one mishap to another happen, with a little swearing here and there (which didn't bother me in the slightest - hello spirit person!) which given the circumstances was understandable. She has moved back to her childhood home town Oak Creek with her three kids following her getting fired, and soon finds herself involved with her children's school PTA, investigating a murder and uncoverin ...more

Recommends it for: PTA members, comedic murder mystery lovers
Entertaining murder mystery. I loved the protagonist and the story line holds your attention throughout the entire book. I laughed out loud at points, particularly when reading descriptions of PTA members. Classic. Also, did anyone else envision Glory as Matthew McConaughey in Dazed and Confused? I was waxing nostalgic as I came across other familiar characters - Klingsborn the piano teacher, Keiser the science teacher, Buck the school counselor, to name a few. And if you missed the Spinal Tap r ...more

I won this book through a goodreads giveaway. It was a fun read. Some of the characters were over the top, to the point of cartoonish, which got to be a it much occasionally. Otherwise, it was a fun mystery.

I was gifted an e-copy of this book in exchange for an open and honest review to form part of the virtual book tour.

Must be honest, i'm not the biggest fan of the cover - but what is that famous saying again? oh yeah - don't judge a book by it's cover.

The early stages of the book were funny and a very entertaining read but I didn't really understand the purpose or the emergence of the main story line. Shortly, this changed and I was immediately hooked in to the book.

I love the mystery that thr

I received a copy for an honest review. What follows is my opinion and mine alone. There was no compensation for this review.

Now that's out of the way, this book . . . well, it took a little bit for me to get into the flow of this book. First off, the size of the paperback felt a bit daunting. I mean this thing looks huge! Turns out, what you see isn't always what it is. Nope, the print is actually a bit large. Which I have no complaints about! I can read it without my glasses and I know my sist

I always like my murder mysteries on the lighter side with a bit of humour thrown in to offset the ugly details of death. Dave Cravens offers just that in Mayhem, Murder and the PTA, his first title in this genre. And as someone ended up unexpectedly home with the kids for many years, I enjoyed the crazy characters offered at the local school - from parents to teachers to office staff - as well as the inevitable political infighting. I also loved that the main character as well as her mother wer ...more

Mayhem, Murder and the PTA is the first book I have by Dave Cravens. It will not be the last. It tells the story of single mother, Parker Monroe, an investigative journalist. She quickly realizes that this town if full of gossip and drama, and finds herself in yet more trouble. Who done it and why?

When a prize winning journalist loses her job, the family moves cross country to live with her mom. They arrive the night before the first day of school and just make it in time for the opening bell. Life from then on just continues to be filled with one adventure after another.
Parker has a throw-down with the vice principal at the PTA meeting, her car is stolen, then returned with the body of the vice principal inside, one teacher beats the crap out of another and is arreste

This book will let you sit on the edge of the couch

As much as I love reading contemporary romance, I admit reading suspense or mystery is my 2nd favorite genre. This book will let you sit on the edge of your couch. It so good that I cannot put it down. My very first book of the author and I become a new fan.

This book is funny. I laugh out loud so many times. There are so many twists and turns. You think you figure out the killer but you were wrong. I never see that coming. This book is an amazin

Mayhem, Murder and the PTA by Dave Cravens was a well written murder mystery that took place in a small town. I really liked Parker as she was a strong woman and a single mother of three that was able to take care of her family. Too often strong female characters are propped up by a male character in fiction books, but that was not the case here as Parker was strong enough to stand on her own. I liked watching Parker trying to figure out what was going on while also being a mother.

Thank you to author Dave Cravens for this Kindle copy of Mayhem, Murder and the PTA. And thanks to Goodreads for hosting the opportunity.

Simply a great read, start to finish. Funny, engaging, nicely paced, with a colorful cast of characters - and some colorful language sprinkled in as well. Well done. Highly recommended.

I received the kindle edition of this book free through a Goodreads giveaway. I really enjoyed this story. It kept my interest throughout the book. I loved the protagonist. She is a bold, funny, and sometimes a bit neurotic, widowed mom of 3. It reminded me of a cozy mystery.

As a child, Dave Cravens planned to grow up to be a superhero, the first person to capture Bigfoot and Nessie on film, pilot experimental aircraft out of Area 51, develop cold fusion, and star and direct in his own blockbuster action movies so he could retire at the ripe age of twenty-five and raid tombs the rest of his life. Instead, he got a degree in journalism, which he hasn’t used at all othe ...more
