A fascinating look at Don Chipp, his political career and the establishment of the Democrats in 1977. A surprisingly candid account of political life in Australia in the 1960s and 1970s. I like the forthright way the book is written but I found the Democrat's policy prescriptions as set out at the end of this book utopian and simplistic - despite my younger more idealistic self having voted for them several times!
