This book was my first by Jill Weatherholt and it was quite enjoyable. If you like contemporary romance with a good element of faith and forgiveness, you will enjoy this book. The romance between Joy and Nick is sweet and shadowed but also highlighted by their long history. Nick’s twin boys are so much fun and Joy’s niece Bella is a great addition to the storyline. Joy and Nick both have made mistakes and had to endure heartaches but learn to finally triumph over guilt, shame, and doubt. All of ...more

This “second chance at love” story pulled me in from the very first page! The twins were adorable! I loved meeting Joy in A Father for Bella, and now getting to learn her story. She’s harbored a deep grief and given up on her dreams of family. Nick’s back in town, determined to make up for the past, and wants a second chance. Set in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley, ramped with conflict and obstacles, woven with a gentle faith thread, what more could a reader want? Happy sigh…A Mother for His Twi ...more

Look what I found hiding behind my TBR pile! Not quite the season for a snowy read but it was a nice bookish escape from the wretched summer heat. :-)

A heartwarming love story that packs a wallop of emotion. It's both a reunion and second chance romance which just added to my romantical giddiness. Reunion because Joy and Nick were high school sweethearts and second chance because Nick's a widower. His abrupt departure fourteen years earlier devastated Joy and she hasn't seen him since. And while

A MOTHER FOR HIS TWINS by Jill Weatherholt is very much the love inspired story of Joy Kelliher and Nick Capello. They went to school together, were great friends and eventually became high school sweethearts - until Nick and his family moved off in the middle of night virtually vanishing.

Now after 14 years without a word or an explanation, Nick comes crashing back into Joy’s life. She learns of his return when Principal Jacobson brings his identical twin sons, Jordan and Tyler, to her first gr

In Jill Weatherholt's A Mother for His Twins (Harlequin 2019), Joy Kelliher finds the boy she wants to marry while still in high school but for some reason, though he also professes his love, he disappears from her life without any explanation. She struggles to get over his abandonment but can't convince herself to ever trust another man. It doesn't make it any easier when he returns to their small town as a widower with twins In tow. When Joy’s old high school flame returns to her hometown, the trauma of her past rears its head. Years ago, Nick had abandoned her without a word when his family suddenly moved, and what happened that night is burned into her psyche. Nick wasn’t given a choice about the move, and when his letters to Joy went unanswered, he moved on with his life. He married, had children, and then his wife died, something he hasn’t forgiven himself for. He’s returned to Whispering Slopes with his twin sons to st ...more

I read all genres: literary, women's fiction, thrillers, suspense (never horror, though), mysteries, and yes, romance. After reading two hard-edged books (one a memoir and one literary with a tough-as-nails character), I needed a respite. I needed a well-written, sweet, understated but fulfilling book about life and love. And that's what I got when I opened my Kindle to A MOTHER FOR HIS TWINS. The characters came alive immediately. The Shenandoah setting gorgeous (and the same one as the book be ...more
Jill Weatherholt's smooth writing style, attention to detail, and establishing believable characters are the ingredients found in A Mother for His Twins. Set in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia lends a certain homey air to the storyline. With the themes of faith and forgiveness guiding this second time around romance story, Weatherholt delivers a clean read with wholesome characters.

A heart-tugging second chance romance!

Second chance romances are always fun....former sweethearts reconnecting after life has taken the couple in different directions. Author Jill Weatherholt’s newest book, A Mother for His Twins, touched my emotions on so many levels.

Teacher Joy Kelliher must confront a trauma from her past when her high school boyfriend returns to town with his two young sons. Widower Nick Capello is returning to his hometown to provide a new beginning for his twin boys. He i

After reading several of Jill Weatherholt’s 5-Minute Romances in Woman’s World magazine and loving them, I couldn’t wait to read A Mother for His Twins. I love this author’s smooth writing, character descriptions, and story! The fact that it is set in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley, which is close to my home, was amazing!

This story resonated with me and I pulled for the twins to once again have a loving mother in their lives, as I lost my own mom at age three. It’s a difficult thing to deal wi

Love with a Family Touch!
When it comes to romance, Jill Weatherholt knows how to weave together a beautiful story from ragged threads. A Mother for His Twins is the second book in this series of Christian romance novels. I love the first two and can’t wait for more. Love, loss, anger and forgiveness enter the mix as two teachers who fell in love as teens (one returning to home with two young sons) try to work around past mistakes by avoiding one another. If you’re looking for love with a family

This is a lovely Christian romance novel that works well with the first book in the series, A Father for Bella. I love this whole family, and the people around them. They are so hard on themselves, but they manage to forgive themselves (after plot movements!) and move on from past mistakes. I got teary at the end! If you love the genre, you will LOVE A Mother for His Twins.

I loved this clean second chance romance.Got this at Wal-Mart and I voluntarily chose to review it. This was an emotional roller coaster but one that lead to a HEA. I've given it a 5* rating. It pulled me in right at the first and kept pulling me along to find out what happens next. Lots to love about this book and the first of this authors that I've read. I want to read more of her work.

The past and present collide to create the perfect scenario for this superb and engrossing romantic novel. Schoolteacher Joy Kelliher, who is single and has no children, one day welcomes two new students into her class, two boys who are the twin sons of her high school sweetheart Nick Capello.

Fourteen years earlier he disappeared without warning on the evening of one of their dates. An evening that led to a catastrophic experience for Joy. Nick has returned to his hometown following the death of

Novelist Jill Weatherholt’s readers will thrill to visit Virginia’s Shenandoah Valley again in a Mother for His Twins. This time the focus is on Joy, Faith’s twin sister, aunt to the beloved Bella. Once again, as in previous novels, readers can expect a clean read, with wholesome, though conflicted, characters.

Lots of sensory details abound in this novel too: scents of cinnamon, lemongrass and nutmeg hang in the air as readers learn the truth about first-grade teacher Joy Kelliher and her newly

Questioning things that we should, or should not have done, can trap us in guilt and self-doubt. Jill Weatherholt deals with this theme brilliantly, reminding us of the importance of forgiveness of others, as well as of ourselves.
A Mother for His Twins is the second novel in Jill’s Shenandoah Valley series. I loved getting an updated peek at characters from her last book, A Father for Bella. In both stories, the characters are so real they feel like friends, neighbours and family. Her pacing is

A heartwarming story from beginning to end. When the main character blames herself for a past incident, she has a hard time believing she will ever have a family of her own. Unexpected events allow life to change and the possibility of life with her true love and having a family may be found. I enjoyed this story very much. I received a complimentary copy of the book. No review was required.

There’s never been a better time to pick up a feel-good book and A Mother for His Twins by Jill Weatherholt was the perfect remedy for me. Weatherholt’s book is part of the Harlequin Heartwarming Inspirational Romance novels, in which modern characters with real-life problems learn to let go of sadness and past mistakes, to grab that second chance at love.

In this story, Joy Kelliher is a first-grade teacher in the small town of Virginia’s Whispering Slopes, nestled in the Shenandoah Mountains. S
