Simple Soulful Sacred: A Woman’s Guide to Clarity, Comfort and Coming Home to Herself

Rate this book
Simple Soulful Sacred is a guidebook for the modern woman who seeks clarity and guidance on how to live the life of her dreams, on her own terms. It's for the women of our time-the mothers, teachers, healers, light workers, dreamers, creators, leaders-who are ready to find their voice, speak their truth and own their power, whilst living life with less hustle and more flow. For modern women wanting more for their lives, it's the now age definition of having it all.

Women are rising; ready to step out of the cloak of masculine traits that keep them striving for a version of success that is not their own. Ready to stop hiding their light and playing the comparison game. And ready to fully embody their feminine power. Because whilst the feminine may have been disowned and devalued for centuries, we are so done with that story now.

But it's still a paradox. Because within this very rising, women are longing to step out of the noise and chaos, to live more simply. They want time and space for what's most important to them; and the comfort, consciousness and connection that often gets lost in the busyness and distractions of daily life.

This book is the bridge women have been seeking. Written with the time-poor reader in mind, this book includes 200 short-form chapters, the perfect length for dipping into while commuting; during a lunch break or at the end of the day. The perfect gift, or self-gift, for women of all ages.

Beautiful. Elegant. Quietly inspiring.

The title says it all really. This book has been so timely. I started to read it way back in March. The days were starting to get cold and nights to close in early, as Autumn had already arrived. And so had the pandemic. And like countless others out there, this impacted me more than I thought it would.

This book has soothed my soul on more than one occasion. Yes, things can get hard. Yes, you can hit rock bottom. But just as the lows can take you by surprise and change you in ways you can’t imagine, so good can also come in. No state of mind lasts forever. Our emotions are fluid and in constant motion like the waves.

It’s now the tail end of August, and next week it will be September. And Spring. Jasmine is already blooming in the garden. The scent wafts inside of an evening, and makes me smile. I realise that with the change of seasons, so we can grow too. Usually from our mistakes, but that’s a given! The wisdom in this book is unassuming, and comforting. It doesn’t tell you what you should do. It's like a conversation from a friend where a thought just clicks and makes sense.

For me, this is a book to be savoured. To read a snippet here and there. To pause and ponder on it. Take the idea away and potentially work on it.
Loved 💗

Below is my absolute favourite page from the book. Though there are so many pages and quotes which I highlighted. Usually I’m not one that writes in books, but this one begged to be acknowledged and have underlinings and thoughts written in the margins. It’s just that kind of book.

WHAT DO YOU NEED RIGHT NOW
” What do you need right now?
Tune in to your body, your heart, your life force.
Listen. Listen intently.
You may hear the faintest whisper, or the loudest bellow.
Listen for her, she is trying to reach you.
Right here. This moment.
What do you need right now?”

And remember...
Be well. Be kind. Show social responsibility. Look after each other 🌻

A book for the woman who is wanting to reconnect with her soul; her truth and step fully into her power. For the woman who feels lost among the busyness and stress of 21st century living.
It is an inspiring read divided into 10 parts. Each part explores a theme which is divided into multiple subheadings. It’s a book to ponder over. You are asked questions to make you think. There are delightful quotations and positive affirmations that are inspiring and motivating.

It has taken me a good few months to read this. I have sat and thought things through. This is not a book to devour quickly. It is very much a book that requires input from you, if indeed you are wanting to begin a journey of self-transformation. So, grab a journal / notebook and allow this beautiful book, to guide you on your path to reclaim yourself.

Oh my Gosh! This book has literally reached in and touched my soul! The most amazing insight, quotes, hints and suggestions at rising up to become the woman you were meant to be. I must admit that I have be a fan of Megan's for years - and found endless comfort and inspiration in her work, but this book really took me by surprise. The chapters are easily broken down and you can read cover to cover or jump around. The content is so meaningful and really reaches out to you - everyone can relate - no matter what your situation is. I've discussed the book with friends and they have had the same experience. ALSO - if you haven't seen the videos about each chapter - they explain what she has done in each one and they are a great source of info and will definitely make you want more - so buy this! It's a gift to all women, and in my sisterhood I want all of us to rise up and soar as well, so that is why I am writing this review - to encourage you to join in on an incredible adventure - finding your true soul and being brave enough to rise up. AND this book isn't just for women - she writes a touching "everyone is welcome here" in the introduction. A book for all ages, genders, races - truly a gift! Thank you Megan for giving us the 'icing on the cake' of all your previous works!Megan Dalla-Camina

A few years ago, during a career transition, Megan Dalla-Camina provided insight that pointed me in a direction which has brought me to where I am today: getting ready to embark on the biggest and most exciting journey of my career yet. Her care for women in all points in their careers - and life in general - has been an encouragement and inspiration to me. Simple Soulful Sacred is a reminder to be still and reflect, to take stock on who you are (and have become) and to not be ok with just “making do” and getting through life. Megan provides practical tips and soul nurturing to take action to become your best self yet. The first few chapters have been directly speaking to me with words of challenge, comfort and affirmation. Even though I’ve just begun, I can tell that it’s going to be one of those transformative books that I’ll be returning to again and again. The chapters are short yet packed with reflective truths, which make them easy for read for busy women. I encourage you to run, not walk, to get a copy of your own today. You won’t regret it.

This is a brilliant bedside book that taps into our need for bite-size wisdom and offers ways to align to a path of health, happiness and soul-satisfying contribution. It's short jewels inspire, ignite, and sometimes soothe. Megan's writing and journey left me feeling understood in the modern situation I find myself in as a woman, and beyond that, left me feeling connected to something greater than all of us - the desire to rise up and make a difference from a place of alignment to the most sacred part of ourselves. This is a truly activating book for women to rise up and claim their feminine power, purpose and peace within our oft too-busy life. Like a rudder, its inquiry questions can steer us home. I'm keeping it by my bedside and sharing it with my coaching clients already. A must read.

Like chicken soup for the soul! One of those books that you can read cover to cover or just open at random and find something that deeply resonates - complete with a super simple invitation per wisdom and how this might apply in your own life! A book I absolutely love and will frequently refer to as life changes to either calm me or inspire me!

I found this book to be very inspiring and insightful. The short stories that accompany each affirmation really help you to connect with the idea and get a better understanding of why the affirmation is important.

The author's openness to share personal stories helps the reader to see that we are all alike. We assume the grass is always greener on the other side and that someone else knows better and has done better than we have. The author shows us that through our imperfections we can change our lives with a little insight and help.

I found many affirmations that I plan to use and wrote them down as quotes of inspiration for days when I need a reminder that I am more capable than I give myself credit for. I would recommend this book to anyone who is needing inspiration or a reminder that you are perfect and amazing within your imperfections and flaws.

I listened to this on Audible, and I am so glad that I did. Having Megan's soothing voice reading to me was a huge part of the enjoyment of this book for me.
I loved this book! And I know, without a doubt, that I will listen again and again. I use many of the affirmations she shares.
I would encourage all women to read this book! It should be recommended reading for every girl in school!!

A really beautifully written book that provides nurturing, empowerment, healing and connection, all within the written word. I especially liked that this is a dip-in, dip-out format, where you can randomly open to a page or search by theme to find what you're most needing, with each little idea only running 1-2 pages. Very much a book for those who identify as women.

I read this book cover to cover, but I feel it may work better as a coffee table/bedside book that you pick up occasionally and read a page here or there. I appreciated the ideas and encouraging messages, but it felt like it dragged on forever. I found many of the author and her client's 'anecdotes'/stories to fall very flat as there was no depth in their explanation. E.g. one sentence mentioning the person's name and then one sentence their situation and then that was it. Again, lovely message and contained some nice insights and quotes but not particularly memorable for me.
