Broken things can’t be fixed…

Or can they?

Officer and single dad Mike Harrison doesn’t believe in second chances. Ever. That is, until he learns that his former best friend—gorgeous green-eyed car mechanic Georgie Bennett—is back in town. Unfortunately, she’s also a suspect in a recent break-in! But it’ll take an old classic car to show Mike and Georgie that almost anything

Poor Georgie! She had a lot of things to forgive and move on from in this story! Things from the distant past, the recent past, and even some things from the present.

I enjoyed this second chance love story and was happy to see Georgie gain the strength she needed to grasp hold of what was most important to her.

Harrison had problems of his own to deal with, balancing his growing feelings for Georgie with his demanding boss and the rigors of single fatherhood. I liked seeing how his heart was fina

This is such a sweet read. Mike is a nice guy who made a big mistake in his earlier days. A mistake that sends his best friend out of town, for what he thinks is forever. Imagine his surprise when Georgie makes it back home to help her dear friend in his automobile garage. Although Georgie is not so sure she’s made the right decision because no one trusts her with their vehicles. Will Mike be able to rescue her, causing the town people to finally trust her?

4.5 Stars

In The Sheriff’s Second Chance, Tanya Agler gives readers a story that's not your typical second chance romance.

Georgie is not your typical romance heroine. She’s a tomboy who works on cars and is comfortable with herself despite her mother’s efforts to change her and the suspicions of many Hollydale residents. Returning to her hometown is temporary but people like her former best friend Mike Harrison and his adorable daughter make her question her plans.

I really enjoyed the depth and uniqueness of the characters and the small town of Hollydale in this story!

The main character, Georgie Bennett, has an occupation that I've never seen in all my years of reading fiction--she's an auto mechanic. She is a self-labeled 'tomboy' who is more at home in jeans, a t-shirt, and her old sweatshirt than she is in a dress and heels. There are a lot of obstacles for Georgie to overcome along her path in life, but she is resilient, determined, and ambitious. I a

Happy sigh. Second chances may not be easy, but they sure do make for good stories.

Former best friends Mike Harrison and Georgie Bennett have history, of course. When Georgie returns to town, the pair must consider if a second chance is possible, given the hurt between them. It might just take the restoration of a classic car (and some encouragement from their community) to discover the best way forward.

Tanya Agler’s The Sheriff’s Second Chance is an all-around sweet, fun, charming read. I loved

My Thoughts on The Sheriff's Second Chance:

Get ready to lose yourself and your heart within the pages of The Sheriff's Second Chance.  Georgie is a set in her ways tomboy with lots of past hurts to heal.  Mike is a single dad of a precocious eight-year-old little girl who's afraid to love, yes even her.

I loved getting to know the characters in this novel.  They really felt like some of my new best friends.  I did find that I could not relate to the "shop" talk because I literally know nothing ab

An entertaining, out-of-the box romance!

If you enjoy small town stories with second chance romances, this is a book for you. I found Georgie Bennett’s occupation as a mechanic interesting. Her selfless spirit of helping others is admirable, especially considering the disappointments she’s faced. Law enforcement officer and single dad Mike Harrison is a great hero, trying to balance honor and duty, while providing for his lively daughter, Rachel.

The community of Hollydale, with an assortment of f

This was a fun book to read!
I liked Georgie and her spunk and determination to be successful as a woman mechanic. Even after she returns to her hometown to take care of her mother (who she doesn’t get along with) and has several mishaps with the local townspeople; she is still determined to help others and to make a difference. She runs into her old friend, police officer and single dad Mike but things don’t really go smoothly from the beginning.
I liked reading about Georgie and Mike’ past and c

Tanya Agler’s first book The Sheriff’s Second Chance is a good story with believable characters. Add a little romance and mystery and she has a winner.

Officer Mike Harrison is a dedicated single father to the precocious Rachel. Georgia’s reluctant return to her hometown of Hollydale, carries all the pain it brought her from her childhood and the best friend who betrayed her, Mike. Georgia temporarily works for Max in his auto repair until she can finally achieve her dream job of being on Brett C

Georgie and Mike were close in high school but after a colossal error in judgment, Mike gave up on Georgie ever forgiving him. Now that she's back in town after all those years away, Mike hopes for a chance to make amends but now must put her on the top of a suspect list for break-ins around town.
Georgie has big plans that don't include her small home town or handsome police office Mike, but working in the garage and the opportunity to restore an old car sound appealing. A lovable dog, and ador

Such a sweet story that was a treat to read at night. I loved the characters and the history they had, very relatable to anyone from small town USA. I’ll buy one of Tanya’s other books, an easy and fun read.

Given the average rating and the number of 4-5 star reviews, I was sure I was going to love this book. I didn't. My hatred of Mike was so overwhelming that I actually seethed while reading this book. There were so many things that I didn't like about this book; the town, the mother, the sheriff. GAH. This book gave me a headache. My kindle has 80 notes where I called either Mike, the town, her mother, or the sheriff jerks (or some curse word equivalent). I forced myself to read to the 40% mark a ...more

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy from the Author. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review. The Sheriff's Second Chance by Tanya Agler is a sweet romance about a cop and a mechanic trying to make things right again.
Will Georgie forgive Mike for what he did in the past and present?

Thank you in advance to the author, Tanya Agler, and JustRead Publicity Tours for providing a complimentary review copy. A positive review was not required. All words and thoughts are my own.

This is Agler’s debut album, and she is a welcome addition to the Harlequin Heartwarming line that was published in January.

It’s clear that Mike and Georgie still have feelings for each other. But, neither one can get over their broken hearts. Mike caused G

Mike Harrison just wants to make his daughter's life the best it can be. A difficult goal, given he's her only parent and a bunch of burglaries are keeping him extra busy trying to catch the perps. Oh, and he doesn't want to be sheriff, even though lots of people in town keep telling him he should run for the job. Then there's the Thunderbird his grandfather once owned. No longer in pristine condition, the car calls out to the one mechanic who can bring her back to her previous condition. That m ...more

I really like Georgie, Mike and Rachel. Georgie is such a strong woman and when she comes back to town, everything goes wrong and right. First thing she meets Mike, the one guy she really didn't want to see. He is now a deputy and he thinks she might have stolen some valuable comic books. As if. She and Mike have a past and Georgie really needs to forgive him for something that happened in their youth. They are both old enough to get over it. Mike is now a single father and so much more appealin ...more

A new author to read and such fun to read. A second chance romance with a twist. Best friends Georgie Bennett and Mike Harrison have a second chance? Its a story about acceptance and coming to terms of who you are as a person. A person once asked what a heartwarming was. Its a sweet romance that takes time to fall in love. Not a week but months. That's the joy of each of these books. I love the way Tanya writes this story. For there are little twists to the story that add depth to this story. I ...more
