I really enjoyed this book. When it was given to me by a friend I was a little skeptical to read it as I am no where close to being a role model or a teacher for any sort of martial arts or fight training. If anything I'm only a student. By the exploration of fear as a hinderance to learning, and the importance of fostering safe and comfortable environments was really inspiring. Many thoughts. Obviously, I'm not a martial arts trainer, but I think I can apply some of the ideas to the office I work in, and I have been taking water breaks when needed and communicating when my body has reached its limit rather than trying to push through and injure myself as I go through physical therapy thanks to this book. ...more
