I'm working on giving my house a little makeover, and this book was very helpful. It focuses on using things you already have to improve the appearance of your home. It also gives tutorials on how to make certain objects so you don't have to spend the big bucks to buy them. It gave me lots of great ideas, some of which I've already put to the test. Some of the styles are a little outdated, but it doesn't matter because the same principles still apply for things like hanging pictures, arranging decor on a shelf or mantel, and arranging furniture to make the most of your space. My biggest complaint was that the before and after shots were always taken at slightly different angles, so you can't see how everything was changed. They also spoke of some things that were not pictured, which bothered me. I'd still give it 3 1/2 stars.
