2025 Japanese book reading challenge book 2 (JLPT N3)
An extended adaptation of the Puss in Boots story aimed at Japanese school children that fleshes out the story with a lot more detail, some humour and two alternate endings depending if you want the classic fairystory ending or a bit more action to wrap things up; which amused me.
Fun read, though by the end I just wanted to finish it.
By now I know I can read books of this level in Japanese, but they're going to require a lot of vocabulary checking and using chatgpt to help parse some confusing sentences. The good thing it that once I do that it clicks quickly now and I can see how the Japanese structure works. It is just a case if keep reading and more exposure now. I am alrrdy noting vocabulary, phrases and structures that I know I was hving to loom up last year that I know check to confirm or can just read. This is the curse of the intermediate student, the sheer grind needed to build that level of vocab to naturalise your skill.
