For My Good: My Baby Daddy Ain't Ish

Rate this book
Gina is still piecing together her heart and her life after her break up two years ago with the father of her child, Kayden Senior. It seems that ever since he left her for another woman, Kayden has written both Gina and her son off. He refuses to pay child support and doesn't seem interested in playing any kind of role in the life of Kayden Jr - who still sees his father as his hero. The only consistent thing about Kayden Senior appears to be his desire to make Gina's life miserable. Meanwhile, her girls Melanie and Keisha always have her back. They have a close knit circle, almost like sisters. Melanie and Keisha urge Gina to try something new with her sexy co-worker David, but Gina isn't sure. Her confidence and her trust in men has not been the same since Kayden Sr. abandoned their family. Her faith in men and her inability to choose a good one makes her hesitant to let another man into her - and her son’s - life. Her heart tells her that David is different, but her mind isn't quite ready to let go of her past. The possibility of love and a good man seems too good to be true, when her baby daddy ain’t ish.

I really enjoyed this book once I started reading I didn't want to stop . This Book deals with life ideas.thier are men out here who move on and leave women to. Pick up the pieces. Kaydon was dead wrong he acted like a coward instead telling Gina that he didn't want to be with her any more he left her hurting . I can't wait to read the next book.

Amazing Read

I loved this book from beginning to end. The authors connection with God is evident in this book. It has a nice flow without being preachy. The character ensemble was great also as you connected well with each one. I just want to see Kayden Sr. get some karma. Overall great story!!!

Good story

This was a good story. Gina got right with god and slowly her life turned around. She never gave up and continued to be a strong mom for her son. She ended up with the man of her dreams who treated her like the Queen she is.

Good

This is a very good read that is different from my normal read. Well written with well developed characters. The drama is realistic and the title definitely describes the story.

This book was so good. I absolutely loved it. Tanisha Stewart outdid herself with this book. I really didn't want the book to end, that is just how good it was. I think what I really loved about the book is that it was very relatable to a lot of people. I love that Gina found God, herself and a good man. Kayden was trash and he tried to break Gina but you cant break a strong woman especially when God is her source. Watching her and David's friendship turn into something beautiful was awesome sauce. She has some awesome friends and I cant wait to read their stories. This book had me laughing, crying and feeling so many other emotions. When an author can move you the way Tanisha moved me with this book, you know their gift comes straight from the hand of God. Tanisha keep up the good work love.

Tanisha Stewart is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors. I read her latest work "My Baby Daddy Ain't Ish" in one sitting. While the title may seem salacious, the story is actually quite relatable and the drama is never over the top. I really enjoyed reading Gina's story of dealing with her child's father and being a single parent, all the while working and going to school. It's a story that many out there can connect with. We're taken on a rollercoaster of emotions as we see Gina struggle and then rise. I love how Tanisha Stewart's stories have an uplifting message without being overly preachy. Gina's friends and family are also fun to read about and there's many times where you feel like you're sitting right there with them as they chat away. I'd definitely suggest this for anyone that needs a fun, quick get away from life's humdrums. Great read!

This was my first read by this author and omg she definitely bodied this book. My emotions where all the place with this book. I felt like these ladies were my friends I was so caught up in the book. The tears started to well in my eyes that I was so happy for Gina that she found her true happiness with David. The other ladies Keisha and Melanie were god sent for each other. I don’t wanna tell the story but just know you won’t be disappointed reading this book please give Tanisha Stewart a try she is a good ass author

Good Relatable Christian Fiction

Gina's story was one that almost every single mom can relate to. From the father of the child being selfish and crazy acting to trying to juggle all the pieces of life like a clown in the circus. I read it in no time and once again, not disappointed with this amazing author..now she has two seconds to get book 2 out.....countdown starts...now...

Easy Read

This book was a smooth read. Very relatable to every life situation. I would have enjoyed this as a complete novel instead of a series. Look forward to reading this author's work as she evolves.

I loved this book soooo much! Gina was relatable and reminded me a lot of myself. I went through emotions with her throughout the story!

Once again, the author has nailed it with character development! The storyline held many twists and I loved that every time I thought I figured it out, I was wrong!

I cannot wait for part two!

This is real life!!!

I loved this story. It was very relatable to my childhood as my mom was in nursing school raising three kids. I loved how the author painted the picture of Gina's struggles as a single mom and how she rose above them. Most importantly, she let go and let God intervene. Awesome read!!!

Good story

I was judging this book by the title, but it kept coming up in my recommended kindle reads. I really enjoyed this story. I will say although I felt bad for Gina she annoyed the hell out of me by answering the phone every time Kayden called her. If he did not have her son with him then why answer the phone so he could show his ass (Every. Time.)

Heartwarming and real!

Gina is a struggling single parent just trying to make it the best way she knows how. Between keeping her grades up, a difficult supervisor, and a deadbeat baby daddy, she is truly tested throughout this book. With strong Christian undertones and true life hardships, Gina’s story is one full of inspiration and making a way when there is no way.

I enjoyed the story and the characters. The plot is fast moving and full of inspiration jewels. I liked the friendships and the love interest in Gina’s life. This is an uplifting story that warms the heart and puts a smile on your face. Gina’s struggles are a lot of women’s struggles. Her story can easily be your mother’s, your sister’s, your best friend’s, or even your own.

I recommend this story to fans of Kimberla Lawson Roby’s Curtis Black series and her stand-alones.

This story was very refreshing. Single mother left with a extremely broken heart from her ex who was her son's father. This was a whole different level of a dead beat father. A very determined woman want to make sure her and son had the necessities to survive. In school fulltime, working 25 hours with a determined boss who made it her mission to make her working environment miserable. When a co-worker no longer hide his feelings for her, she still had a trust issues with men because of her ex who continued to degrade her and was stalking her so she wouldn't have a relationship with someone else. Giving her life to God has made her stronger. Her new strength encouraged her to deal with her ex and trust God to guide her into the relationship that she and her son needed.
There are some funny parts but also you can relate to some of the situations.

I probably shouldn’t even read this book. Normally I like this writers work but this book was just OK to me. I meant don’t let this keep you from trying it. I’ve just made too many books like this and I think I’m over it. I gave it four stars for the writing, but had I had the chance I would’ve given it zero for the story. Without giving too much away she’s got a deadbeat baby daddy who doesn’t want to pay her child support. So she is basically scarred and when she meets a nice guy, she can’t let go of the trepidation she has since she is a scarred woman with a child. She has two friends who stick with her. And they are happy in their relationships which makes things difficult for her. Anyway, read this book and come to your own conclusion.

"For My Good: My Baby Daddy Ain't Ish" by Tanisha Stewart

My Sentiments:

This author gave the reader quite a read as we see how our God came in and helped Gina in her way of life. It was a read that showed how these three friends had quite a bit going on in their lives. How will it all come out for each of them? Well, this story takes in Gina and David's story. So, to find out how it comes out...the reader will have to pick up this good story. We will hang out with us needing the next series as we continue with the story.

The life of a single mother

Tanisha gives a detailed account of the struggles of having a child out of wedlock. Gina thought she was in a committed relationship that would grow. She was in for a rude awakening. Every which way she turned, there was stress. She learned that in order to grow, she had to let go of some things and pick up others. The dialogue was extensive, at times, but I enjoyed the read.

Gina and David 💘💘💘

This is my first time reading this author and I must say that I really enjoyed this book. The situation and the characters are relatable. I found myself throughout the book cheering Gina on and hoping for the best for her and her son Kayden Jr. David was a wonderful person and he was attracted to Gina and I'm glad she gave him a chance. I'm looking forward to enjoying more of Tanisha's books.

Loveeeeee!!!!

Love the storyline and characters. Kayden Sr. Is the type of man that doesn’t want you but doesn’t want anyone else to have you either. Glad Gee got her a good man and new financial stability. I was hoping to read from the other characters POV, but I’ll continue to read the series. I’m excited!!!!!!!!

Wow

Love The Sisterhood, I had passed up this book several times, but after reading the prequel I couldn't anymore. Three best friends and their life struggles. The men in their lives, the drama from deadbeat dads, other women, their jobs, but they always had each others back. Hail to Sisterhood💗💗

Let go Gina!

Gina let go and let God! When she did she got her man and a good job! I feel like something is missing from David’s story with Sabrina, because she awfully thirsty and showed up at the wedding trying to act a fool. I hope Keisha is okay and Melanie! I will have to complete this series

This book was good as heck. It was so relatable. I’m so happy that Gina’s life did a 360 once she submitted her life to Christ and remained obedient. I, however wished the author would have told us more about Kayden Senior and his wife relationship. I know they were miserable!!! I say this because nothing good is produced from hurting others.

Wasn’t able to stop reading

I had already read this book but the story is so well written that I had to enjoy it once again. I dislike fathers like Kayden since I have one of those and I was literally in the same child support situation as well. Brought back some memories.

Some people never change...

I enjoyed the story. It will make you laugh and ready to go off on characters. However, there are parts that I wish had more details. Hopefully, there will be more from these characters that will let us know what happens with them.

Wait on God

Gina went through it with her no good BD. Once she sought to build her relationship with God everything else fell into place.
