This novel is more than a contemporary romance. It's an exploration of a woman from humble beginnings who is determined to succeed, despite the mistakes she makes along the way.

It is also an exploration of soulmates / twin flames from a more existential point of view. As an astrologer, I appreciated the deference to psychic elements and fatedness in this novel, as there are many different energies at work in the universe which we do not completely understand, but which nevertheless do have an

Held my attention for every page

For all who know me I get a book and I speed read from cover to cover. For this novel i deliberately slowed down to savour every seen to hate and love the various characters to bemoan decisions made and to contemplate what could come next. But for all i wish was different, it were the very things that kept me going back to see....What next. I wish it had ended differently but truthfully it couldn't... It an excellent read for those who want a well crafted, well

The Broken Canvas by Stacey Facey portrays Natasha Bishop as a strong, independent, Hollywood screenwriter, whose vocation brings her in contact with arrogant actors. Brody Banister is one of the worse. His system of dating allows him to keep his distance so his heart does not get involved in his relationships. Dating women who are just as detached is his status, until Natasha spends time with him at his family’s Scottish home. Her nurturing spirit and genuine care for others surprises Brody and ...more

Thank you to BookSirens for a copy of this novel in exchange for an honest review.

This book was not for me. Not even a little bit. It was classified as a contemporary romance, but I had a really hard time seeing that.

There was a lot with this book that I had issues with. The first thing was the writing style. I recently read a book called The Seduction Expert which I gave one star to as well, and the writing styles between those two books were eerily similar. I felt like the writing was by

I am not certain why this book received all those good reviews. I must have read a different book then. Because I didn't particularly care for the writing style. It was all over the place and there was no clear timeline of when things took place. The other thing was everything was told in Natasha's voice. So when the Vernon went back to Louisiana, or when it was it was supposed to be Brody speaking, or even Michael or Lauren, it was Natasha speaking and describing events when she wasn't even ...more

Thank you for this ARC review copy I received, now here’s my voluntary review:

The Broken Canvas by Stacey Facey portrays Natasha Bishop as a strong, independent, Hollywood screenwriter, whose vocation brings her in contact with arrogant actors. Brody Banister is one of the worse.

The cover of The Broken Canvas looked pretty however I did not like the writing style at all. I’m sorry to say however I cannot lie for reviews.

It was not consistent at all. The

This was a very interesting story about Natasha, an artist at heart both in painting as well as writing. Her career as a screen writer had brought her many awards and opportunities to work with many different actors. Natasha first love broke her heart and as a result it changed her views on love and marriage.

She has a younger boyfriend Andrew who believes Natasha is his soul mate. Yet while shooting a film she is drawn to the star, Brody.

It does not take long for Natasha to find herself in a
