Nothing But A Ripple: A Sex Surrogate Story

Rate this book
The book was written with the scorching knowledge that the injured world of sexuality still exists in shadows and is worthy of receiving a legitimate stage. In many, sexuality raises feelings of guilt, shame and even disgust. I use the word 'many' meaning those who admit to it, not those who don't.
The ones that don't are the most of the many, the silent, that in their silence give a hand to the suppression of one of the most powerful and beautiful life energies.
As a woman who believes in creating reality, I ask to call challenge on the fears that clasp us all by our throats and shakes us fiercely.
I ask that this book of mine awaken with love, those who hide under the blanket with their eyes shut, those that are hurt who don't dare expose themselves and those who are just discontent and wish for different. In an aware and free way I choose to expose these stories, they are all taken from reality because I believe with all my heart, that people, we, all of us ask for good.
I give thanks for the privilege that was given me to bestow to the world of myself, after all,
I am nothing but a ripple.

Exceptional! I read it in one sitting.
The subject of surrogacy was foreign to me, it deals with all that we hide in sexuality and life events as well - all the hidden unspoken issues. It is exactly what is happening in the world today - bringing it up to the surface - throwing shame and labels aside.
I say this but Nothing But A Ripple is much more than that.
It is about humanity and human nature, pain, shame, conformity and the courage to be true to oneself. It is our society seen and experienced by the character (Lilly) throughout her life, only to emerge a compassionate, strong, outspoken person that makes a difference in this world. A person that remembers and strives to be true to the lessons she learned throughout life.
I truly can't praise this book enough, it is easy to read and not so easy to go through some of the more emotional and heart-breaking moments. It has humor and shock, tears and frustration. It made me feel, remember and realize much about myself.
The Author writes to us as a confidant, revealing things that I doubt I would admit to myself.
Lilly as the main character, a woman, a mother, a teacher, and her alias Emma as the world saving confidant surrogate.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book, I take much from it with me.
My favorite quote: "I despise lukewarm tea, defaults and mediocre sex."

Nothing But A Ripple: A Sex Surrogate Story
by Seraphina Arden

Americans are notoriously uptight when it comes to sex. Where I live, in one the Fly Over States, this title alone is enough to garner a side eye and possibly a casual mention of said giver of side eye's church of choice, you know, to redeem my wretched soul. I was almost sad I didn't have a physical book to hold in public. Sometimes I like to cause a stir. Sue me.

Unless you delve into the author bio and more in-depth information regarding the book, a reader could be confused as to whether this is a biopic or fiction. Either way, "Nothing But A Ripple" is enjoyable. Arden's style of writing is modern and refreshing and her story telling talent is unmatched. I thought this topic was tackled in a fun and unique way while still making a bold statement about the human reaction to sexuality. Something a little out of the box is nice once in a while.

This book opened my eyes to a world I did not even know existed.

I’ll be honest…. I had no idea what this book was really going to be about when I bought it. I ended up being pleasantly surprised, it’s definitely NOT what I was expecting from the title. Okay so full disclosure I was expecting one of my guilty pleasure smut books. But what I got was a a book that is so much more than I was expecting. It reads kind of like a narrative from he view point of Lilly who is just a normal mother of 2 kids/school teacher, but then she goes by Emma and works with sex therapists as a sex surrogate to help men overcome their sexual struggles whether it’s from childhood abuse or a relationship gone wrong. This book is very interesting and eye opening. To be honest I had no idea that sex surrogacy was even a thing. This book opened my eyes who a whole new world that I did not even realize existed.

Nothing But A Ripple: A Sex Surrogate Story is such a wonderful story. A story of realease from injuries and imprisonment of the body and the mind. So many associate sex with quilt or shame, to be released from that is pure freedom. There is story after story of the freedom that was found after a few hours with a surrogate. I really enjoyed the book, it was well written and easy to read.
