She got away once... the Marshal will make sure this time she is thoroughly reclaimed.

Ethan McDaniel ("Mac" to his friends) left Arizona and the love of his life, Willa Reynolds, five years ago in order to further pursue his career with the US Marshals. When his team is assigned to chase down a fugitive, Mac returns to Arizona. He is determined to take back the woman he left behind, but never stopped loving.

Willa has convinced herself that Mac was merely an interesting interlude in her life by keeping busy with her gourmet camping business and saving mustangs. When the marshal overhears the man he is pursuing confess his crime to Willa, Mac places her in protective custody and under his care. Willa refuses to recognize Mac's authority and ends up bare bottomed over his knee blushing on both sets of cheeks.

Before long Mac asserts his dominance in all areas of their renewed relationship and Willa finds herself being subjected to the marshal's particular brand of protection - one that includes having her bare bottom spanked soundly and submitting to Mac as he reclaims the woman who has always been his. In spite of Mac's stern correction, Willa is highly aroused and realizes she that surrendering to the marshal in every way is all she ever wanted. Nonetheless, Mac's job is located in Louisiana will he leave again after his fugitive is caught like her left five years before?

Publisher's Note: Reclaiming Willa is the first in the Wild Mustang Security Firm series. It is a stand-alone novel with no cheating and a HEA. It includes spanking and sexual scenes. If this type of material offends you, please do not buy this book... you won't care for it. But if you do, sit back and enjoy the ride!

Strict Witness Protection

Professionally written, fast-paced and engaging, “Reclaiming Willa” features strong lead characters, a second chance at romance, action, adventure, suspense and a dash of humor. As a contemporary western, erotic romance, “Reclaiming Willa” also highlights elements inherent to an unequal power exchange relationship, along with blistering heat and an interesting cast of secondary characters. Ethan (aka Mac) is portrayed as a well-rounded dominant, indomitable but also exhibits care and attentiveness toward Willa. For the most part (at least for me), Willa appeared overly abrasive at times, somewhat compromising the romantic aspect between the lead characters. Overall, “Reclaiming Willa” is thoroughly entertaining with a safe story-line (no cheating), dual perspectives, reads as a standalone and includes a rewarding HEA.

Not worth finishing

I tried, I really did, but at 56% I had to give it up. First, the book reads like you're listening to a storyteller--you're told what happens instead of living it through the characters. Next--even for fiction, it was too unrealistic. She can do more to make a campsite by herself after dark than a whole crew of people could manage. She's an experienced wilderness guide but the bad guy gets the jump on her. The hero is a U.S. Marshall experienced in retrieving fugitives, but he can't get the jump on the bad guy even from behind and unaware. He takes her into "protective custody" and treats her in a way that would cost him his career. And he acts like he has the right to subjugate her without her consent, just because he decides after five years that he now wants a relationship, but on his terms, of course. Just couldn't stomach any more.

WILLA, MAC, AND A SECOND CHANCE

Once again, Ms. Delta James has created a page-turning mystery-suspense tale with a dominant man (US Marshall Ethan McDaniel) and a feisty, strong woman (Willa Reynolds.) Add in her passion for horses and rescuing wild mustangs, a murder with a fugitive, along with a touch of danger, loyal friends, good food, and plenty of passion and you have a great story. While each of the Wild Mustang Security Firm stories works well together, they also read well as a stand-alone. They will have people from other stories, but that is because of their intertwined connections.

Willa is known as a top-notch guide and tracker. She leads guided tours that include her gourmet cooking, even on the trail. Her ranch house in Sedona, Arizona dates back over one-hundred years and suits her needs.

Ethan “Mac” McDaniel is with the US Marshall out of Scottsdale and for a short time moves in with Willa as their relationship progresses. When he is offered to head up the SOG Fugitive Retrieval Group, it comes with a problem they can get past—he will be moving to Camp Beauregard in Louisiana. Willa won’t leave her home and business, and Mac can’t pass up this promotion—this is where they will part ways.

The plot will move forward five years to present day and the US Marshall Service SOG being called to help apprehend an escaped fugitive, Simon Eastwick, who murdered his wife. It will also bring Willa and Mac back together when Willa becomes a material witness, and her life is in danger. Placing her in protective custody under Mac will reignite these two lovers. Mac will also take a lesson out of his friend’s playbook, and place Willa over his knee to show her he means business. Maybe if he had done this when they had been together before, they would never have broken up.

“Give to me, Willa. Accept my dominance while I cherish your submission to me.”

There is nothing meek or submissive about Willa. She can out shoot most men, can track better, and knows the area like the back of her hand. She and Mac are good together, and there is an explosive chemistry of passion when they get together. She is loyal to those she loves and will risk herself for a friend.

The story is part adventure with danger, part a second chance romance with plenty of passion and discipline, and has a happy ending. It will include Mac being forced to accept her help as a tracker to catch their killer. What will happen when Willa puts herself in danger? Will Mac be able to rescue her in time?

“Like you—bright, magical, and full of the promise of what each new day will bring. Be my sunrise, Willa.”

“Only if you’ll be my sunsets—deep, seductive, and with the assurance of comfort and renewal.”

When two strong, alpha-type characters meet, the sparks (or spanks!) are bound to fly

Reclaiming Willa is a very enjoyable read with it's likeable characters and romantic suspense elements. It includes a domestic discipline trope and does have several spanking scenes, so if those are liable to cause you offence, this book is probably best avoided.

The story has an exciting plot and is well paced, enough so that I found it quite easy to engage with. I was neither tempted to skim parts, nor was I inclined to put it aside. Once I started reading about Willa and Ethan I didn't want to stop!

I liked both characters, Willa was perhaps a little abrasive in her 'independence' at times, but I liked that she wasn't Ms Perfect. Ethan was wonderfully alpha but also respectful and caring, a huge must for me, otherwise the hero is in danger of becoming unpleasant. Thankfully he was pretty much the perfect book boyfriend!

I did struggle with believing in their chemistry and romantic connection a little bit. This was partly due to a 'show rather than tell' feel at times and mainly because we meet them as a couple, so never get that 'falling in love' period.

Having thoroughly enjoyed reading this, I would happily recommend it to those who love romantic suspense, spanking/Domestic Discipline, cowboy/girl settings and/or law enforcement officers in a story. I'm looking forward to stepping back in time and experiencing John and Mandy's love story.

Reclaiming Willa is the first book in the Wild Mustang Security Firm series. Willa and Mac dated five years ago, but just as things got serious, they had a difference in opinion about their jobs and they ended their relationship. Now Mac is back in Willa’s life as he protects her from a murderer. Strong wills crash, passion reignites, but will Mac be able to tame his wildcat and keep Willa safe?

This book was fantastic and I really enjoyed reading it! After I started it, I just got sucked into the story line and the connection between the characters, and the next thing I knew, I was already half way through the book! Willa is so strong and independent, fierce even, but I loved her softer side that came out when she was with Mac. Mac was protective, driven, and all alpha male, and I loved how he became the dominant man that Willa needed in her life. At times, their wills clashed because they both thought they were right, but I loved that Mac disciplined because he cared and just wanted to keep her safe. Their reconnection was strong and true and I loved that Mac wanted to come get Willa back before he had his mission. I loved all of the drama of the book with the murderer and tracking and horses, and loved how both Willa and Mac dealt with everything. This book was fantastic and I look forward to more books in this series!

This was a really great book! When I started this book I thought there was going to be a bit of predictability based off of the other ranch/western books that I have read by Delta. However, I couldn't be more happy to say that I was wrong and that Delta James takes us on an adventure that ignites the imagination.

I really like when Willa comes to the understanding as to what is considered success and failure, with the US Marshals, when it comes to protecting her. Mac is a great balance of hard and soft. It makes me melt when he talks about the honey between her legs! mmmmmmm!

This book is down the same lines with intensity and suspense that Delta's Wayward Mates series is, which I loved! I can't wait to see where this series goes and can't wait to hear more on the back story of a couple we are introduced to in this story!

I read the second in the series and then had to grab this

Delta James is a favourite author and I read the second in the series as a stand-alone and I loved it so I grabbed the others in the series including this

An adventure with feisty woman whose self appointed dom trying to get his chosen strong non submissive woman to submit to him. Yup, written with humour, a nice plot, great storytelling and a sprinkling of heat.

As soon as I finished I read the others in the series including this. All with the same formula, and all throughly enjoyed

Make time for this series, it will make you smile

Poor story

Willa and her U.S. Marshal boyfriend Mac are living happily together when he has the chance of a huge promotion. The problem is he must relocate to Louisiana and she refuses to go with him. The story moves on five years when the Marshal's are required to head to Arizona to retrieve a runaway murder suspect. Mac is happy to return, wanting to reunite with Willa. Unfortunately she becomes mixed up with the runaway and needs protecting as a witness.

The plot could have been better, but I thought the author went overboard in trying to insert sex or sexual innuendo into it at every event, even including the runaway. It didn't work for me as it just rendered the story ridiculous.

The dynamics of the relationship between Willa and Mac also seemed ludicrous. Willa's character was strong, independent and self reliant. This was one of the reasons she refused to move to Louisiana. Suddenly, after five years with absolutely no contact, she immediately submits, although reluctantly, to Mac's domination. This just did not gel.

The plot was not allowed to continue for one chapter without the main characters thoughts turning to sex even when in the height of danger. Sorry, a sensual story is one thing, but this was totally poor quality and showed poor writing skills. Does the author really believe if she inserts multiple orgasms in every scene it will improve a poor story?

I struggled to finish this book.

In my opinion Mac is abusive towards Willa and their relationship is all about him controlling her and him getting his way at her expense emotionally and physically.

I enjoyed the plot and the suspenseful story of the US Marshalls seeking to capture a fugitive in Arizona. My issues with this book have nothing to do with the author’s talent or her writing style. I just had an extremely negative reaction/response to the main male character Mac. The rest of the characters and the story are very enjoyable. I do enjoy this genre and have no issues with spanking, and D/s relationships.

I did hesitate to start the next book in the series fearing it would be the same as this one; however, once I started Croft, I loved it!

My opinion regarding this story may not be yours, but do realize Mac is hardcore in his opinion concerning his dominance over Willa and Willa is very much independent and strong willed from way before they meet.

I received an ARC from the author and purposely waited to post a review for over a week after finishing this book because I wanted to really think about what to say and not to negatively influence her release. Delta is a very talented writer, this book just wasn’t for me.

Sexy Spanking Western

I really enjoyed Mac and Willa's story. The plot was well written with no plot holes that I caught. All the characters were interesting and we'll rounded.

There were only a few things that bothered me. The begining of the story was a bit jumpy it was a little confusing to get the time line. Once you got into the main story every flowed well. I would have liked to have seen a little more character growth on both Mac's and Willa's parts. Willa I would have liked for her to come to terms with needing help and submitting to Mac. On the other hand I felt like Mac never really acknowledged the difficulty Willa was having to submitting mentally. Physically yes she did but mentally it was really hard for her. I would have liked him to really have helped her through it rather than just strong arming her. Yes he was dominant but he wasn't being a very good dominant when he ignored her troubles.

Overall, though, an enjoyable sexy story with some real humor in it.

Mac : US Marshal's

The story is decent But you must like a lot of severe spankings of the heroine by the hero to "teach her lessons" on how she should behave. Which means how he wants her to behave. Although his ministrations definitely send them both into the sexual stratosphere, which you will also read a lot about. He's US Marshall Ethan (Mac) McDaniel, she's Willa Reynolds, rancher and haute cuisine chef. They've gotten a second chance together and they are working hard to be together. Their adventure takes them into the wilds of the Suspicion Mountains in Arizona, searching for an escaped murderer, saving wild mustangs, kidnappings and shootings. You can almost understand Mac's frustration with Willa's irresponsible actions, always putting herself and others in danger. But his teaching methods seem harsh and unrelenting. I guess they are made for each other.

Willa is a great character and Mac is a very dominant Alpha Male and when they get
together sparks fly! Delta James `style is easy to read, professional and full of adventure and twists and turns.
Mac left Willa five years ago for his job and when he returns he reconnects with Willa. There is a lot of action and suspense and I loved the sense of humor on these pages. The great scenery of Arizona and Willa's farm was descriptive and visual and the mixture of suspense story and love story was perfect. The story lives with Willas character. She is sassy and handles everything alone, she refuses Macs authority. Sure Mac is hot as hell and a protective character.
I enjoyed this read a lot. It's a great mixture of "Western" and "Uniform - Romance". Great characters , great plot and steamy hot sequences make this book stick to your eyes.

Spelling mistakes, no you can’t have anal sex without lube!

Such a shame that this isn’t brilliant as the storyline was really good. Murderer on the run and she’s saved by her Marshall ex boyfriend. Loved that part of it but the sex scenes are terrible!!
Willa has three or more orgasms with sex (hmm?) then after he’s finished without a condom they cuddle up in bed. Without her going to the bathroom to clean up. It’s gross! Then he gives her oral sex and she has another three orgasms!!!. No lubricant for anal sex and she manages to have the best orgasm ever. Sorry but the sex is sooooooo unreal.
The spelling.... oh sooo bad. I was trying to ignore it as the storyline was really good but then I lost interest and the mistakes started driving me mad! ‘He;re’ was one of them.

Willa’s life is focused on her love of horses, her tour guide business and the man she loves Mac however she is not about to relocate her life to further his career, so their relationship ended. Five years later he is back in town and in her life when she is a witness in his current investigation.

Mac is a US Marshal who receives a job offer that he can’t turn down even if he loses Willa in the process. When he reunites with Willa the chemistry and connection between them is stronger than ever and he will do whatever is necessary to not only protect her that the most important thing in their life is their love for each other.

Two compelling characters, a steamy romance and intrigue make this an entertaining story.

I really enjoyed Mac and Willa’s story. Mac and Willa were in love, when Mac took a promotion that required him moving. Willa, however, didn’t want to move and they broke up. Mac comes back into town on assignment and to protect Willa as a material witness. The attraction and chemistry between Mac and Willa is still strong and Mac is determined to make Willa his again. A really good read and one I recommend.

Not as good as Noah which I read first even though Noah is the 3rd book. I’m new to Delta James I have no idea why because she’s amazing! All of these books are well written and so freaking hot.

In the first book we see Mac and Willa’s relationship 5 years ago and how it was. You’re then 5 years into the future where they run into each other again.

Willa is a fiercely independent and quite capable women. She lives in a remote area and has her own business where she takes people on horseback on camp outs and also serves them wonderful homemade food from her own hands. On the side, she tries to save as many wild Mustangs as she can from ruthless rustlers who want to sell them to factories. Her man is Mac, a US Marshall and he is very alpha himself and they are quite a match for each other. When he gets a promotion that will take him miles away, neither will give in to the other on how to figure out a long distance relationship and they part ways. 5 years later when he is brought back to her area for an operation, he has decided that he is going to reclaim her, and sets about doing so by being extremely dominant and refuses to take no for a response for her. The story is interesting, there is intrigue, a fugitive to be caught, a lot of steamy sex, and an original story setting. But I felt that Willa was such a strong and independent character that when Mac began to assert his dominance over her, that she would have at the very least deeply questioned his insistence. This part of the story was disappointing. There is another part where Willa makes a silly decision regarding trying to catch the fugitive. She leaves a sign hoping Mac will catch it, when all she had to do was tell the Marshalls she was with what the situation was. This made no sense. But it was a good story overall, steamy, and spanky sexy.

Another well written story by Delta James. It was both heartbreaking and
heartwarming with with a whirlwind of emotions that was exciting, fast
paced, nail biting with scintillating sex and spanking scenes.

With their relationship in tatters,Ethan MacDaniels left Willa to further his
caree as a US Marshall. With her love of wild horses and her wilderness tours,
Willa tries to forget Mac and continue with her life. After many years Mac
returns to Sedona,Arizona in search of a fugitive and a plan to recapture
Willa's heart.Willa is in danger and Mac will do everything in his power to
protect her despite Willa extreme relunctance to concede to Macs rules.
Mac has many regrets and his determined not to make the same mistakes
again. In his experience, the truly magnificent women are the ones worth
making a life with, they are feisty and do not allow anyone to run their lives.
Willa puts up a good fight but it feels right to submit to Mac's dominance.
It amps up her desires and his bold words flick a switch within her.Willa puts
herself in danger and in trouble with Mac after he has to save her life once
again and she learns a painful lesson over his knees.

This was a compelling book featuring a hot dominant hero and a strong heroine.
I was captivated by Mac and Willa's story and am looking forward to the next book
in this series

This is an excellent law enforcement/western romance that is guaranteed to capture the reader’s attention & keep it until the very end. It has a well-written, outstanding plot filled with suspenseful incidents. The characters are well-developed with a lot of chemistry although they are inclined to be confrontational at times.
It is about: a feisty independent woman that runs her own business & rescues mustangs (Willa Reynolds) she was involved with the love of her life (Ethan aka Mac McDaniel) but he left her 5yrs ago for an employment opportunity with the US Marshals in another state. Now he is back on the hunt for a dangerous fugitive & to finally claim his woman.
There is: twists & turns, intrigue, suspense, humor, danger, threats, memories, confrontations, protective custody, verbal conflict, confusion, discipline, spanking, domination/submission, manipulations, verbal banter, love, happiness, explicit steamy scenes & a well-deserved satisfying conclusion.
I really enjoyed reading this law enforcement/western romance & would recommend it to people who like to read this genre. I really doubt that you would be disappointed.

Mac is the first book in Delta James’ Wild Mustang Security Firm series. In it, readers meet Willa Reynolds and Ethan “Mac” McDaniel. Willa runs and owns a horse resort ranch specializing in memorable camping adventures. Willa is a remarkable tracker and marksman. Aside from running her ranch, she rescues and relocates wild mustangs from capitalist rustlers whose only desire is financial gain. Mac is a U.S. Marshall heads up a Fugitive Retrieval Team. Both Willa and Mac are strong, obstinate, self-reliant individuals. At one time they were in a relationship; however, lack of communication and misunderstandings catapulted them into different paths. But Destiny brings reunites them together when Mac is assigned the capture of a runaway criminal, Eastwick. As Eastwick attempts his escape on horseback, he encounters Willa. In an unguarded moment Eastwick confesses to the murder of his wife. This new information puts Willa in danger and lands smack in the middle of Mac’s pursuit. What happens when Mac and Willa reunite? Will there be sparks? Can Mac keep her safe? Will they find happiness? You must read this book to see what unfolds.

Ms. James once again does a remarkable job in this romantic suspense. I enjoy her skillful use of conversational dialog, internal monologue, dual POV, and descriptive language. Combining all these literary devices, she adeptly draws readers’ attention with vibrant scenes, rich dialog, and witty banter. Nicely done, Ms. James.

4.5 stars. I wish it had been longer.
Mac was definitely the quintessential dominant male. Willa was smart, sassy, and self sufficient. Mac and Willa together were not only combustible, but unstoppable.

One thing I love about the women in Delta James' books is that they are strong, capable, intelligent, and resilient women. If the woman takes a back seat at any time, it is only for one person, and that is the man that holds her heart.

I started at page one and kept going until I got to the end. Willa could hold her own better than most men. Mac is the only one who came close. The book had humor, suspense, adventure, discipline, sex, and romance. A face paced, western trek through the wilderness.

I always love an epilogue, but this book kept me fully engaged without on. If dominant men, discipline spankings and detailed sex offend you, take a pass on this one.

Willa and Mac used to a couple and lived together until Mac got a promotion and moved away. Mac is back now to find a criminal that is running loose. The hunted man finds Willa as she is making her breakfast while camping out and he confesses to her what he did. Mac arrives in time to keep him from taking Willa and sends him on the run. Mac realized how much he has missed Willa and how she is the only woman for him. He has decided that he's not letting her go again. Mac puts her in his custody to keep her safe and she doesn't like it. Willa doesn't believe she is in any danger and that she can keep herself safe. When she runs away from him, he finds her lets her know she will follow his rules. Will he keep the headstrong and stubborn Willa safe? Must read to find out. I love the book and look forward to the next book.

One of the things I look for in a book is an opening that makes me want to know what’ll happen to the characters, and that is so well done in this book. Willa and Mac’s relationship is established, their split is desperately sad, and there seems no room for compromise or a future – leaving the reader wanting to know how they might get there. While I did find Mac’s attitude unreasonable at times, Willa’s character is written in a way that plays to all his character’s strengths. And there’s the other real strength that I felt in this book – the characters are believable; even the bad guy is believably slimy. Add in really hot heat, and you have Reclaiming Willa. And I’d like to read more from Delta James.

One thing Delta has done well and that is to write about hot cowboys or in this book US Marshals and their feisty cowgirls and as a start to a new series I can’t wait to see where this goes.
Willa is one hell of a cowgirl who runs a business, saves mustangs and a chef, so she is one independent woman who has an alpha personality of her own, she is strong, wilful, sassy and loves her Marshal Mac.
Ethan Mcdaniels or Mac has been in a relationship with Willa but when he leaves her for a job opportunity in another state you wonder what will bring them back together
I love that the characters traits complement each other and it works quite well even the bad guy’s character is portrayed well and is believable.
This book has a few twists in the plot but was one i was reluctant to put down until I finished it...I loved it and can’t wait for the next book in the series.

The cover of the book showed the couple and I liked the background shown. The author wrote a great plot and the characters just worked along with it. The five years that passed after their breakup didn't stop the love they felt for each other. He realized Willow was right to resist leaving the business she worked so hard to build up and was happy with it. Why should she be the one to give up her dream. He also recognized he wasn't as committed to his job as before. The undercover agency he worked for was planning to hunt down a murderer, who Willow knew and was in danger from. You will have to read the rest of the book to know the ending. I received this early copy and in exchange give my honest review.
