Ohhhh, I'm really excited to try these! I love the simplicity of the pictured (meal plate) charts. A lot of these recipes sounds good. I was a fan of Aaron's Keto Sweet Tooth Cookbook, so I'm sure these are just as good. I do love the idea of meal prepping for the week. Saves time in the evenings if nothing is planned or short on time.

I received this book at my request and have voluntarily left this unbiased review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

While this book contains easy “Keto” meal preparations, this system can work for anyone who is wanting to plan and prep their meals for the coming week. Of course some things point specifically to Keto, but I find it to be adaptive for those dieting, or just eating healthier (which the recipes lean to), and to those looking for delicious meals.

You’ll find information on Keto of course. However, you will also find instructions on choosing meal prep containers, a shopping day planner, and safe reheating guideline. Each chapter takes you through a week of prep, with there being eight weeks in all. And important to me, there are color photos throughout the book.

Recipes? On yeah. EASY KETO MEAL PREP has the recipes. Check these out . . . Italian-Style Frittata, Broccoli Cheese Soup, Pancake with Strawberries and Cream, Beef Burger Wraps, Chili Con Carne, Pulled Pork with Creamy Slaw, Smoked Salmon and Cucumber Salad, Cheeseburger Breakfast Casserole, Eggroll in a Bowl, Chocolate Mason Jar Ice Cream, Cashew Chicken, and a lot more. See? You’re getting hungry aren’t you?

Author Aaron Day has created an easy to follow book, with clear and concise instructions. I’m happy I took a chance on, EASY KETO MEAL PREP.

Originally published on my blog: Nonstop Reader.

Easy Keto Meal Prep is a new cookbook, tutorial, and recipe collection by Aaron Day. Due out 17th Dec 2019 from DK, it's 176 pages and will be available in paperback format.
The author is a well known keto lifestyle recipe developer and writer of cookbooks for the keto lifestyle.

This book is certainly very well organized. The first 15% of the page content covers the introduction, definitions and concepts involved in meal prep, along with lists of very basic kitchen utensils and storage items. The author discusses some of the side effects of ketosis and benefits of getting through the initial adjustment period. There are also lists of staples with quantities to have on hand for maximum efficiency.

The following chapters contain the 8 weeks of meal plans: recipes along with ingredient measures, shopping lists, yields, prep time and other essentials. Many (but not all) of the recipes are illustrated. The photography which is included is very clear and well done. Ingredient measurements are supplied in American and standard (metric) measurements. The nutritional information: fat, carbs, protein content are listed for the recipes as well as serving sizes. Extra tips or recipe alternatives are listed in sidebars with the recipes. The recipes themselves are fairly straightforward and are made with easily sourced ingredients. Many are very simple, none of them are overly complex. Most of the recipes are photographed, the photos show the meals in their meal-prep containers. The photographs are small, but clear and easy to follow.

This is a beautifully presented very well organized book. I would definitely recommend it to any of my friends who are looking to make their food prep even more efficient and keto friendly. Once a week cooking can be made family friendly, but I'm not sure how easily these meals can be incorporated into a family style meal environment. This would work very well for singles or for one person (or whole family) following a keto-friendly diet.

Five stars.

Disclosure: I received an ARC at no cost from the author/publisher for review purposes.

This cook book is perfect for anyone who is struggling to get back on track or anyone who wants to start but isnt sure where to begin. There were so many things I loved that Aaron Day did in this book. He gives you recipes for the week. He takes out the stress of figuring out what your going to eat! It doesn’t stop there, he even gives you the shopping list, what equipment you’ll need and what to do ON YOUR PREP DAY! And of course he gives you the mouth watering recipes. I loved this book. I plan on getting this for myself and my father. Such a great book to help you get started or get you back on track!

I have not started a keto lifestyle yet but have been researching it to begin in the new year. This book is very well put together and gives you all the tools to jumpstart your keto life.
I love how everything is broken down. It is extremely detailed so basically all you have to do is do it. Once I get started I will definitely be relying on this book to get me going.

Thank you to NetGalley and DK for sending me an e-ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I don’t follow the Keto diet, but was interested in checking out Aaron Day’s cookbook for healthy meal prep ideas and inspiration. Meal prep is becoming all the rage because of its health benefits, convenience and cost-effectiveness. This book is a great resource for anyone who's either a) new to Keto/meal prepping or b) honestly just wants someone else to do the bulk of the work! I know for me, planning what I want to eat, preparing the shopping list, figuring out whether it's healthy or not is the most time-consuming, frustrating part of the meal prep process.

Day starts the book with some basic information (what the Keto diet is, tips for shopping and meal prepping, how to safely reheat your food, a list of healthy snack options etc.) then separates the remainder of the book into eight weeks of pre-planned meals, including breakfasts, lunches, dinners and optional sweet treats. Each recipe tells you how much fiber is included, the percentage of protein, fat and carbs and the number of calories. This information is so helpful to anyone who is trying to eat healthier or lose weight. Each week also includes a shopping list and the kitchen equipment you'll need to complete the recipes. With all this information, I feel like Day has provided a jumping-off point for people to go it on their own after completing the book. (Or I guess they could start back at Week 1!) The layout of the book was well organized and had an attractive, clean design.

The only thing I didn’t like about the book was that there were only a few vegetarian options. If you prefer to eat mainly meatless, then this book isn't for you. That said, Day does a great job of varying the types of cuisines and ingredients to keep you interested and less tempted to ditch your meal prep for something bought or unhealthy. I’m most excited to try the Lamb Koftas, Cashew Chicken, Crustless Quiche and Thai Chicken Laksa.

4 stars: I am on the Keto Diet and like anyone else, I am always looking for fast and easy meals.

Things I liked from this book: I didn't know I could have yogurt ...how did I miss that one?? There were some recipes that I am eager to try out and definitely some of the “Bombs” he mentioned!! I liked that you could freeze most of the dishes. Mr. Day took the guessing out and made up menus for 8 weeks. Most of the foods mentioned were user friendly …I don’t think there was anything that I didn’t want to make.

Things I did not like from the book: Keto can be a overwhelming program as it is …how much protein to have …how much carbs …how much fat??? Ketosis??? I have read a number of books on Keto and either the author goes into too much detail or goes on the lean side. This author was lean on information regarding the macros. When I started the diet a Macros App (download one from App Store) was indispensable in calculating the macros. This author put that down as a side bar …almost as an afterthought. As much as I liked that you could freeze most of the dishes mentioned, there is no way I would go out and purchase that many glass storage dishes ...it just doesn't work for me! I would probably make one dish and hubby would take leftovers to work the next day

What I took away from this book: The author has some really tasty looking recipes and I download almost all of them to use at a future date. There was some foods that I didn’t know I could have and some favorites that I will definitely make up soon!

I would like to thank the author, the publisher and NetGalley for an advanced copy of this book in return for an honest and unbiased review

Hands down the easiest book to use! It provides, meal plans, shopping list for each of the 8 weeks. For each week there are 3 alternative meals you can substitute. I'm now at day 3 of my first week and I've lost 2 lbs. I know probably water eight. Not only am I'm losing weight, I'm saving time. I now only go to the grocery store once a week. And while Sunday, I spent a lot of time cooking and cleaning dishes, I'm reaping the rewards of only having to heat up my meals. So now more cooking and very easy cleanup. The hard part of the Keto diet is calculating the ratios of fat, carbs and protein. For the 8 weeks of meal planning it is all done for you. Since I want to lose 30 pounds, I'm going to have to repeat the 8 weeks several times.

I looked at two other books and I did not think they were easy or desirable to follow. One had you drinking smoothies for breakfast everyday. Smoothies never satisfy me. I want something I can chew. Also it only provided two weeks of meal planning. Since I want to lose a lot of weight, I'd be bored to tears if I had to repeat two weeks of meal for 16 weeks or more.

This cookbook is an excellent resource for Keto dieters the simplified make ahead food prep is a lifesaver and truly simplified this life change for me. I often struggle with this diet because I am the only one in the house that eats using this meal plan. This prep ahead recipe book allows me to make meals for myself that I can have on hand while preparing other foods for everyone else. It is a so much simpler and I am more easily able to avoid temptation and stay on track using this cookbook.

This cook book offers so many great keto meals. The broccoli cheese soup is fantastic the addition of prosciutto is well hugely satisfying adding just enough salty goodness to richly complement the rest of the soup without it being to much. The chicken burrito bowl yum..... I found so many recipes that are so easy to prep ahead so glad I found this one. and you have not lived until you have eaten a Mexican Style Breakfast Muffin... However, I could say that about pretty much any bacon recipe but I love it :)

I received this book from NetGalley and DK Alpha for an honest review.

Eating keto can be challenging, and cooking keto recipes that are satisfying can be even more challenging—you need to make sure you're eating enough fat to stay in ketosis, while still eating food that is satisfying. Weekly meal prep can help ensure that you stay in ketosis while still enjoying fresh, delicious, keto-friendly recipes that aren't the same every week. With Easy Keto Meal Prep, planning and preparing your weekly keto meals has never been easier!
Almost three years ago, I went Adkins/Keto in support of my son having to do it for epilepsy. After 6 months we were done. Now I’m needing to get back on track for myself. Reading through this book helped me remember the ins and outs of living without sugar and how to be successful. I highly recommend.

Amazing. I've recently been looking into keto, but it seems a bit overwhelming. This book, however, makes it seem so easy and tasty! Day provides the essential basics of keto up front and then does all the groundwork for creating meal plans so you know what to get at the grocery store, as well as how to prep, store, and reheat recipes. The plans cover 6 days--same breakfast each day, and a mix of three recipes that alternate between lunch and dinner. He even offers a few extra recipes each week for you to choose from, plus snack and sweet options. You can clearly see the nutrition facts you need, and recipes often have extra tips about other flavour options or ingredient replacements. This book actually makes me excited to try the keto diet!

As the wife of a diabetic, I often find that keto recipes line up with low carb/no carb very well. I stink at meal prepping but this book lays everything out: recommended storage containers and how many, substitutes if you find you don't have something, and a full spread of keto-friendly snacks. Tips on the prep process itself and safely reheating foods are also included! It makes me feel much more confident that (when I do become a meal prepper) this book could help me be successful.
There are 8 weeks of plans included. Everything is laid out step-by-step with lots of color photos and it isn't intimidating at all. It says all the meals you're prepping and a few alternative meals plus recommended snacks. A shopping list makes life SUPER EASY. The recipes all look delicious and easy.

I received a temporary digital Advance Reader Copy of this book from #NetGalley, the publisher and the author in exchange for an honest review.

Anyone on the Keto Diet learns quickly the number one drawback is the food prep. It is simply unavoidable - fresh, healthy, unprocessed food must be prepared to enjoy. I don't know about you but I can only enjoy so much black coffee and hard boiled eggs before throwing in the towel. Variety is the spice of life, right? Done correctly, keto is the healthiest way of eating on the planet. It makes you feel great. There are abundance of reasons to eat keto - but how do you conquer that pesky food prep issue and make it work with your everyday busy life?

Author Aaron Day has a solution contained within the pages of this book. Eight weeks of meal prep plans, set up in one-week increments, all macro-perfect and layed out with clear, easy to follow instructions. There are no weird foods, no crazy expensive ingredients, and sweet snacks are included. He takes all the hard work out of staying on keto. This makes it enjoyable! All you have to do is carve out a few hours once a week and put your meals together. So easy. So simple.

What I Did Like
There is a lot to like about this book. The format is easy to read and follow. The pictures are mouth-watering. The recipes are simple and straightforward. The instructions are clear. The recipe ingredients are not terribly expensive. The plan is laid out for you day-by-day. The macros are calculated and once the meals have been prepped, you can go on autopilot and not have to think about food for an entire week!

The beginning of the book contains a simple, 2-page summary of the keto diet. If you're picking up this book, it's likely you know the layout of the land. It's nice there isn't a bunch of wasted effort put into explaining keto, yet again. Following that, there is a lengthy explanation of how to meal prep for the week; the supplies, the process, etc.  Much of this is common sense for the avid cook but useful for the beginner.

Then, he launches right into the plans. Each week's worth of meals is already planned out for you and presented in an easy to read grid. The ingredients you need for the week are all on one page, along with any equipment you'll need to prepare the meals. Then, there are the step-by-step instructions for prepping all those meals in one 3-4 hour block of time. Each recipe for the week follows. All of the instructions are very clear and easy to follow.

There are some really delicious looking recipes in here; Italian Frittata, Greek Salad, Thai Chicken Laksa, Fruit & Yogurt Bowls, Swedish Meatballs, Mason Jar Ice Cream, Vegetable Curry, Cashew Chicken - the list goes on and on. I want to try everything in here! Any one of the recipes you can pull out and do individually as well - no need to do an entire week's worth just to get the one dish.

What I Didn't Like
Unfortunately, this kind of meal prep won't work for our family. I would have to double everything - and there's no way 7 days worth of containers (21 boxes times the two of us) will fit in our fridge! That being said, this is a stunningly perfect way to go for singles and those just starting out on their own. My personal use of this book would be a bit different than intended - I'd prepare one meal and double it, making leftovers to pack up for for my husband and myself to have for lunch the next several days.

Should You Read It?
There was a time this book would have been like a Bible to me. I would have used it religiously as a single, working girl, just learning about portions and cooking in general. Additionally, I think it'd be fantastic for anyone living alone - from the young to the old. It takes the headache out of meal planning and has you do it all at once, one time a week. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are all done, if followed as intended. If you're looking for a great help in your meal plans and an easy way to add some variety to you keto meals, this cookbook could really help and is worth checking out.

If you are just starting out on a keto diet, this book is perfect! It starts off with an overall explanation of the diet and the tools you need to live a Keto Lifestyle. The recipes are simple and prep time is minimal, compared to plenty other meal prep books out there. The pictures were simple and looks wonderful!

My only criticism is the repetitiveness of the weekly plans. When meal planning, you often eat the same/similar things over and over again, but this seemed a bit heavy handed. I did really like that the author gave alternatives for each week though to make up for it!

Easy Keto Meal Prep is a great introduction to keto. It covers how the diet works, the important of macros and has 8 weeks of meal prep menus. Not only do the meal plans have alternative meals, they also have additional goodies covering a great variety of food.

Every recipe pictured looks amazing. Unfortunately only half of the recipes had pictures. The more visually stunning a cook book the more likely it will be picked up. Hopefully that will be taken to heart if this is reprinted or the author plans another cookbook.

I've been trying to get back to eating food that is good for me while still being tasty. The cookbook is easy to navigate and everything is organized. I tried my hand at making the meals for week 1. The ingredient list and prep notes were easy to follow. I was able to find all the ingredients in one store. These meals are easy to prep and cook and are tasty! It took me a couple of hours to prep and make all the food needed for week 1. I look forward to trying out the rest of the recipes in this cookbook!

-this book was incredibly thorough with its meal prep guidance. the step by step instructions (prep day plan) has you cooking all the recipes at once, not one at a time. first 3 steps detail all the prep necessary. then you start two recipes, finish the first, start a third and fourth, finish the second, finish the third, finish the fourth. has you using multiple timers to stay on top of it all. very organized.

-sesame beef coleslaw was the only recipe i found interesting in this book.

-i got this book from the library because of the meal prep aspects of it, not the keto aspect.

My husband and I are both retired now, so we don't need to separate food for the week. I've started at the beginning and I'm making everything, breakfast, lunch and dinner. Dinner tonight was Shepard's Pie and it was great. So far everything in this book that we have tried has been outstanding. There's a holiday coming up and I see no reason to go off the diet, week three has Chili so this Chili and all beef hot dogs and hamburgers on lettuce are just the ticket. Aaron Day has done an outstanding job with this cookbook.

This Meal Prep book is full of some great sounding Keto recipes to keep things new and fresh, along with helpful shopping tips. It also goes over the best ways to store the meals you are preparing ahead of time so that they stay fresh longer. These will all help as I tried to ease my way back into Keto with the new year. The recipe I am probably most looking forward to is the broccoli and cheese soup! 3.5*

I received #EasyKetoMealPrep from #NetGalley for my honest review. Unfortunately I never could get the entire book to download properly. What I was able to read of it is thorough and thoughtfully laid out. The keto diet is explained, information on kitchen tools, and storage are laid out and the recipes are good. Perfect for those new to keto, those trying to get back or stay on track. I will actually be purchasing this book because what I did see looks awesome.

This books shows 8 weekly meal plans and over 60 low carb recipes in its description of how to prep meals in advance. The author is an accredited nutritional therapist and clinical weight loss practitioner. He fully explains the Keto diet and integrates intermittent fasting as well as sound nutritional practices. His recipes look great, like the Mexican style breakfast muffins. Of course there are also great directions for each recipe and full shopping lists for each week.

I've been doing keto for a few months now and I'm always looking for new recipes to try out. The meal planning aspect is new to me and would certainly make it easier since I find myself cooking A LOT. There are so many great and easy keto meals that I can do ahead of time (meal prep) or last minute on a weeknight.

Love the recipes and pictures throughout. However the font choice and colour is extremely unfortunate. Fine fonts are hard to read without full light and dark backgrounds (wood for example) is a huge mistake. The graphic designer/editor should have picked this up. An after print review should have taken place to ensure it looks as good in print, at arms length for readability as it does on screen.

The recipes in this book definitely live up to their name. They are easy to make and pretty darn tasty. One of my problems with trying to do a keto diet on my own is that I think the diet is limiting and I can't think of anything to eat other than a salad or grilled chicken, maybe some eggs and bacon. This books shows me how I can keep my food interesting while staying keto.

This book would be helpful as a reference for someone writing an essay about the keto diet, nutrition, or different dietary approaches. It's very accessible and easy to understand. For someone looking to embark on the keto diet, having 8 weeks of plans is really helpful, allowing them to build their keto habits so they can maintain the diet going forward.
