Third in the Misadventures of Matchmaking, The Rogue to Ruin, stars the eldest sister Ainsley and her pesky across the street neighbor Reed. I was a new reader to the series and had no problem jumping in here. The author seamlessly involves the reader into the story of Ainsley trying to keep her matchmaking business afloat after her two sisters (heroine

Ainsley Bourne has spent the last two years at war with her neighbor. He is such a cad! Carriages rumble up to his gaming hell day and night and leave trash all over her front entrance. That gaming hell being direct across the street certainly doesn’t garner any new customers for her matrimonial agency – and probably drives plenty away. Almost every day she has some new reason to trek across the street and flay him
Two years ago, Ainsley Bourne and her two sisters left their country home for a London Townhouse, chaperoned by their uncle. Ainsley left a broken betrothal behind, and has determined that she won’t marry, instead she will make the Bourne Matrimonial Agency a success, despite her two sisters breaking the cardinal rule and marrying clients. But, business is slow and few are engaging their services. Ainsley is certain that the gaming club across the street, Sterlings, is to blame and with too much ...more

I had read the previous book in this series and loved it and couldn't wait to get my greedy hands on this one.

I love love LOVED Ainsley and Reed. They're both so stubborn and it made for the best banter and button pushing. I especially loved seeing both of their crunchy exteriors reveal just how soft and marshmallow-y they were. Oh, and don't get me started on their chemistry. I could have died from the delicious UST.

Plot wise, it was a good amount of push and pull, but in a different way. Ain

I wanted to read about Ainsley and Reed after seeing them go at each other in a previous book. They did not like each other ;)

Ainsley is running her matrimonial agency. Across the street Reed is running his gambling hell. These two things to not go together.

Awww banter. Ainsley is the one being mad, Reed just goes along for the ride. And then she declares war. All good things, and they So belong together.

There is a darker side to the story too, but that might come in as a spoiler, so yes there i

I received a free, finished copy in exchange for a fair review, these are just some quick thoughts:

Absolutely amazing banter abounds in this love story between an ice-queen matchmaker and the scruffy-looking, cravat-less former prize-fighter now gaming hell owner across the lane. Plus he has a one-eyed sassy cat!

I adored Reed so much, especially how despite being a big man with rough hands and scars from his past as a prize-fighter, he was the mos

The Rogue to Ruin is the final book in Vivienne Lorret's Misadventures in Matchmaking trilogy. The eldest Bourne sister finds her HEA with her annoying neighbour, Reed Sterling, a gambling hell owner. This book can definitely be read as a standalone, but if you're familiar with this series, then you've probably been waiting for Ainsley and Reed's book just like I have.

Ainsley and Reed are constantly at each other's throats. Ainsl

This enemies to lovers story was a fun read! I’m always a sucker for a hero and Reed fit the bill to a T! Ainsley was a hot mess, but I still liked her-even when she was prickly as a cactus.

I discovered Mrs Vivienne Lorret work with the second book in this series. And since I have read some more as I loved her style and humour.
I confess I do not remember a lot about Ainsley from the previous book, Briar’s story, just she had often raw arguments with their neighbor Reed Sterling and she was rather blunt and had not a romantic bone in her.
My first thoughts were confirmed as she appears as being haughty and having preconceptions about Mr Sterling.
I didn’t like she wanted to put his bu

Oh my this was sooooo good! Ainsley and Reed have such chemistry, their banter is witty and every time Reed’s in close proximity you can almost see the goosebumps that appear on Ainsley. She’s determined to run Reed and his gaming hell out of her neighbourhood, for the good of the Bourne Matchmaking business. This results in some funny antics that don’t faze Reed one bit, to Ainsley’s dismay. But Ainsley is running away from a

This sweet historical romance had it all...
A goodhearted rivalry!
A cranky cat!
A strong man that is actually soft and gets taken down by a teapot!
There was a proper villain that was foiled by our rogue Reed, but Ainsley had a strength of her own. I loved their relationship and seeing some familiar characters. Lorret delivers another fun read with a lot of heart.

But his new neighbor, Ainsley Bourne, and her family's matrimonial agency are about to change all that. In ways that that could cost him both his business and his heart.

Ainsley Bourne may be a breed apart from the brawniest of bare-nuckle brawlers.

I received an ARC of this book to read through Edelweiss+ in exchange for a fair review. The Rogue to Ruin by Vivienne Lorret is the third book in her The Misadventures in Matchmaking Series. It can be read as a stand-alone but I enjoyed the other two books and recommend reading them as well. The story is a very well done tale of enemies to lovers with an excellent cast of eccentric supporting characters, a ragged old tomcat who ends up being a bit of a hero and an extremely nasty villain. We finally get the oldest Bourne sister’s story and this was the best one in the series. The little war Ainsley starts with gaming hell owner across from her matrimonial office was a delight to read. Reed never really retaliated against her, but was there for her whenever she needed. I loved the banter between the two & their chemistry is off-the charts! The author did an amazing job, with little scenes full of sweet tender moments that bring the two characters together. Ainsley’s traumatic ...more

The Rogue to Ruin is the third in the Misadventures in Matchmaking series. A wonderful series about three sisters who run a matchmaking business. Ainsley Bourne has been at war with the owner of the gaming hell across the street, Reed Sterling, since opening the family business. These two are happiest when they are arguing and annoying each other, at least until the first kiss, when other pursuits take the lead. Ms Lorret has such a smooth writing style its a pleasure to read. The characters and ...more

Really enjoyed this with the sole exception of the inevitable part where things fall apart and he does something wrong and they're no longer speaking. It just didn't feel quite real to me. I couldn't reconcile Reed being both so observant and understanding and then so dense in this one particular area. Other than that, I loved it.

4.5 Yay! Enemies-to-lovers is one of my favorite tropes and Ms Lorret does it well in this wonderful historical romance. Ainsley Bourne, the matchmaker, and Reed Sterling, the gaming house owner across the street, have been sparring for years (and through two books of her sister's romances) and finally go toe to toe. I loved the prickly/flirty dialogue and the surprise of Reed's mum was excellent. Great end to this series of the Bourne sisters!

Enemies to lovers is still my favorite trope and Lorret nails it!

Ainsley Bourne needs her family’s matchmaking business to be successful. As long as the gambling hell across the street remains open that will never happen. Ainsley, being completely of sound mind decides to do the only thing she can… go to war.

Sterling’s owner, Reed Sterling is determined to become successful. The son of a tavern owner, he deems his worth bas

St. James, London - 1825

Reed Sterling is the owner of Sterling’s a gaming hell. This morning he is met at the front door by Miss Ainsley Bourne, who lives across the street. She is expressing her disapproval as his business is so close to her home. The numerous carriages in the street and the late night noise are huge irritants to her.

Reed had once been a prize fighter and made enough money to open his own business. His upbringing had been rough which is why he is so good at prize fighting.

Ainsley is the eldest daughter in a family of three girls. When they were young, Ainsley became a surrogate mother for her younger sisters. She took care of everything an adult would normally do.

Now, in London, Ainsley is the only sister left in a matchmaking business the family started. Her younger sisters have married well. She lives with an uncle in a townhouse which serves as her business. It is in a fashionable area of town and directly across the street from a gaming hell.

I just want to start off by saying that I hate that I read this book before I read the first and second book in this series. I absolutely loved Ainsley and Reed's love story and I feel like I would enjoy her sisters' stories as well.

Enemies turned lovers isn't a new trope but from their first interaction the sexual tension emanating dripping from their banter makes it almost impossible to put the book down until you're finis

Ok so you guys know how much I enjoyed the first two books in this series and how much I have been looking forward to Ainsley’s story and the close to the Misadventures in Matchmaking series? Well I can say 100% that Vivienne Lorret did not disappoint! This was the ultimate finale book for any series. While this is in fact Ainsley’s happy ending we still get the perfect amount of little continuation tid-bits about Jacinda and Briar to make each of their stories come full circle, making this a be ...more
