This is one of those books I want to tell everyone to read. Just say READ IT. End of Story. I loved that this book worked perfectly as a stand-alone for me. Not having read the other books in the series, I did not feel as if I was missing out at all. Having said that, now that I have read this book, I am inclined to go back and read both Detective D.D. Warren and Gardner Universe book series. Seriously, how great was it that she combined two of her popular series and combined them? Brilliant!

Lisa Gardner, the queen of crime thrillers writes a brilliant if traumatic addition to the Detective Sergeant DD Warren series as DD leaves her family in Boston, joining a local and FBI task force in Appalachian Niche in Georgia led by SSA Kimberly Quincy. Two hikers discover human bones that turn out to be those of the missing Lilah Abenito, assumed to be a victim of the now dead predator Jacob Ness. Efforts to dig into Ness's criminal past had ground to a halt, but it looks as if they might ...more

Compelling, nerve-racking, & absolutely unputdownable!

Oh my goodness this is exactly why I have been a faithful fan for so many years of LISA GARDNER. She keeps knocking out fantastic books that’s why! I absolutely loved this latest installment in her Detective D.D. Warren series with Book # 11. This is an author that I can always count on that never disappoints and always delivers such fantastic mystery/thrillers that are gripping, emotional, action-packed and packed full of nail-biting
I’ve been a devoted Lisa Gardner fan for years, having read every book she’s released to date.
Her best series' are known to revolve around FBI Special agent Kimberly Quincy and Sergeant Detective DD Warren with the Boston Police department. Now Flora Dane, who survived a sadistic serial killer has being introduced as a new essential character, tying these women together.

When a couple hiking in the Georgia wooded mountains stumble across some bones, it’s quickly assumed to be connected to the

A Complex, Compelling and Taut Mystery/Thriller.

When human bones are found in the deep woods of Georgia, FBI Agent Kimberly Quincy is called in. To her, the findings mean something specific and for this investigation, she needs D.D. Warren and Flora Dane on board.

The bones found belong to the body of Lilah Abenito who was reported missing fifteen years ago and is assumed to be a victim of Jacob Ness. Ness, as we all know is the man who kidnapped and tortured Flora Dane for 472 days.

When You See Me is an outstanding crime detective story that affirms Lisa Gardner as one of the best thriller writers of today. It has so many attributes from location, atmosphere and great characters to an intricate shocking plot that is compelling and keeps you guessing to the end.

It has been a long time since I read Lisa Gardner and I worried about reading her new book without some background to her previous novels in the series. I have to say, in no way did I feel I had missed

This is only the second book that I have read in this series but it can definitely be read as a stand alone. I will tell you that this book scared the heck out of me! It didn’t help that I was reading it at night and way past my bedtime, bad idea, had trouble falling asleep!

At any rate the story is told from three different points of view. Flora Dane is a survivor, she was held captive (kidnapped, raped and terrorized) for over a year by Jacob Ness, until she herself was able

I'm really glad to have discovered this series, even though I jumped in and started from book number eleven. 'When you see me' can be read and enjoyed as a standalone, as there is enough background and characterization to help the reader navigate the world created by this talented author.
We get a glimpse of DD Warren's family life, as she is about to go on a special trip to Georgia where she will join a special FBI task force unit led by SSA Kimberly Quincy that is trying to follow the digital

Another stellar installment in the D.D. Warren/Flora Dane series. Flora is my favorite! This one is scary but so well done. I have not read all of the D.D. Warren books, but I’ve read all of them that include Flora. It’s nice to have books where women are the strong lead characters and don’t have men swooping in to save the day!

This one also has Kimberly Quincy who is with the FBI. The three women are part of a task force put together after a grisly discovery is made. The

Hot Diggity dang!!! Lisa Gardner brings back three of my favorite characters, serial killer survivor turned vigilante Flora Dane, Sergeant Detective D.D. Warren and FBI Agent Kimberly Quincy here in When You See Me. This team go together like tea and biscuits with Flora being the strong bag of leaves here as she faces her worse fears and traumatic past with kidnapper Jacob Ness. The dynamics between these strong characters are fresh, humorous and exciting. Computer analyst and true crime ...more

This is the eleventh book in the Detective DD Warren series. I have been hooked since book one!!

Flora Dane was kidnapped and kept captive by Jacob Ness for 472 days, she is a survivor.

When a mass grave is discovered in Georgia, FBI Special Agent Kimberley Quincy partners up with DD Warren, as they suspect the bodies may be early victims of Jacob Ness. Flora the only survivor goes with the team alongside Keith a Computer Analyst who is close to Flora.

This instalment ticked all the boxes in my crime fiction favourites list:

-out of the way/small/mountain town
-local perp/possible local conspiracy
-many dirty secrets coming to light
-dead people turning up EVERYWHERE
-links to even bigger/historical crimes
-even more dead people

On top of that, D.D., Kimberly, and Flora have got to that point where they come across like a team now. There's a genuine feeling to their interactions, a sense that they have finally accepted this new reality, with the

I loved that three strong women headed this investigation. Normally Lisa Gardner books don’t scare me, but portions of this suspense novel really had me on edge. The parts that really scared the bejesus out of me were the italicized chapters told from the point of view of a young girl, who, at first, we don’t understand what she’s doing telling her story.

FBI agent Kimberly Quincy and Boston police officer D.D. Warren think they are tracking something to do with the dead rapist Jacob Ness. They

Lisa Gardner remains in top form in her latest thriller When You See Me. Detective DD Warren, FBI Special Agent Kimberly Quincy and survivor/vigilante Flora Dane are called together to help solve a murder in the hills of Georgia which may or may not involve the now decreased serial kidnapper, Jacob Ness. We quickly learn that this is not a one murder mystery as there are many strange occurrences that are unfolding in this small town. This fast-paced book keeps you guessing as the

When You See Me is book #11 in the D.D. Warren series. These books are mystery/thrillers.

I adore Lisa Gardner and have read every book that she has written. This was probably my most anticipated read of early 2020. So I was beyond excited to get to read her newest book.

This book brings three favorite characters together: D.D. Warren, Kimberly Quincy and Flora Danes.

Flora is from books 8, 9, and 10 in the D.D. Warren series (Find Her, Look For Me, and Never Tell). Kimberly Quincy is

Bones are found in a shallow grave and this is believed to be the work of a famous serial killer Jacob Ness.
Detective D.D. Warren and her team are trying to find what lead up to this murder.
A young girl is being held by people who use her as a slave, she is mute because of an incident years ago that left her mother dead.
I found the story disjointed but enjoyable in parts.

I'm writing this review before my review for book ten of this series has even gone live on the blog. In that other post, I was effusive and bubbly after rediscovering my love for this series, as the installments before had been good, but not great. Well, we've returned to the good. But that's not a bad thing.

Book eleven feels like almost a direct continuation of the story in book ten. We have DD, Kimberly, and Flora all partnered up, along with Keith, a civilian crime enthusiast, expert in his

Lisa Gardner has become one of my favorite authors who rarely disappoints and D.D. Warren, a Boston homicide detective, is one of my favorite characters. D.D. first met Flora Dane in Find Her. Flora was a college student on spring break when she was kidnapped by Jacob Ness. 472 days later Flora was rescued by a F.B.I. task force headed by Kimberly Quincy. Since then Lisa Gardner has often united these characters and the result is a roller coaster thrill read that keeps the reader on the edge of ...more
When the bones of a woman are found in the mountains in a remote part of Georgia, SSA Kimberly Quincy rounds up Detective D.D. Warren, Flora Dane and Keith to find out if the notorious serial killer, Jacob Ness could’ve been responsible. Flora is the one that got away from Jacob, ending his reign of terror once and for all. If you’ve kept up with the series, you know that Flora has become a sort of self-appointed victims’ advocate/vigilante. Flora’s helped other women in the past books, trying ...more

Believable? Kinda. Sorta. Sometimes, even, not so much. But so what? This one put me on a wild ride at the git-go and didn't let me off till the end.

What makes it extra-special is that it brings together three of the author's characters - Boston Homicide Detective D.D. Warren, FBI special agent Kimberly Quincy and recovering torture victim Flora Dane - characters with whom I've developed a kinship of sorts over the years. When You See Me is the eleventh instalment in the Boston, United States-based Detective D.D. Warren series, also featuring her colleague FBI Special Agent Kimberly Quincy, and I am overjoyed to discover this is a series that is still going strong... and then some! Lisa Gardner is one of those names that I see around so frequently but have not had time to dig into her work. When You See Me was my first experience with her writing and I can definitely understand why she has so much success

I would classify this book as more of a police procedural novel with some hints of mystery more than I would a thriller and the way that she approached the writing very much felt like I was watching an episode of CSI or Law and Order. The author approached the story with

Creepy, creepy and it gave me nightmares. It was definitely a book that captured my attention. This is the first book in the series that I have read so it can be read as a stand alone. The author does a great job of bringing you up-to-date but I suspect it's even more more satisfying if you had read several books before this one. Several? Well, it does combine several different series and does it amazingly well.

I'm between 3 -3.5 stars. I've read every Lisa Gardner book except Find Me. Some I have absolutely loved and others, not so much. This new release which features one of my favorite detectives ever, DD Warren, falls somewhere in the middle. I found it to be a very readable mystery, it was light on suspense, however, and the ending felt underwhelming. This could be a case of the issue being just with me as I read a lot of mysteries, but I did love her last book and found it riveting. This story ...more

This is the first time that i am reading a book by Lisa Gardner and I really feel I may have been living under a rock all these years that i have never read her works. The author has now got another lifelong fan and am slowly and steadily going to be reading all of her earlier published works and am so thrilled for that.

Gardner wrote a compelling story that didn't let up. It had a fast pace, tight plotting, a topical plot, and fascinating characters, even the secondary ones. I read compulsively, swiping my e-reader's screen eagerly to get to the next page.
