I enjoyed this and The Good Egg and The Bad Seed went over really well at story time so I'm sure this will too. The illustrations and level of detail are great... except I think they sort of dropped the ball with the whole dyeing eggs and egg hunt aspect? Maybe that's a feature, not a bug. If you want to make this an Easter thing where his friends are dyed eggs and he has to hunt for them you can, but if not you have to fill in your own blanks about why they're decorated.

I had high hopes for this one after reading the other John/Oswald books in the series, but this one disappoints.

Sure it's cute, but it doesn't pack the same punch as far as teaching kids an important lesson about life as the others do.

It will be a fun read aloud for young kids (PK-1).

After the store closes, all the eggs leave the carton to have fun, all that is except Shel he loves his me time away from his roommates. But when the frolicking eggs fail to return at their designated time Shel begins to worry, and is forced to leave the carton in search for them.

The Good Egg stays behind when the rest of the dozen run off for some fun in the grocery store. He takes advantage of the quiet to do things he enjoys - read, bath, relax. Then, he sets off to find them in their game of Hide and Seek. Clever illustrations and humor throughout.

I liked this better than The Good Egg. It is a good holiday book about an Easter egg hunt.

So cute! I love that when each of the colored egg's speaks it is written in their color so you can tell which is talking. The colors and illustrations are awesome like always.

I love the illustrations and characters in this one but the story and the text length loses me a little. I think it would work mostly for Pre/K.

It's cute ... but The Bad Seed/Good Egg/Cool Beans were better. This one didn't seem to have the same heart. It was almost like "How can we capitalize on the success?" "Let's create a holiday book."
