This is an intriguing, very grown-up take on the Newbery medal-winning children’s story, The Whipping Boy, by Sid Fleischman.

The constant here is the device of one young man taking the punishment for another’s misbehavior. But with a very different flavor…

“The cuffs felt butter-soft as they closed around his wrists, warmed by the sun, and he rested his forehead against the pole in front of him… the muscles of his back… twitching, anticipating the pain that was to come.”

Excellent. This pretty much epitomizes what I am looking for in a work of erotic fiction. Way too often, books like this turn out to be nothing more than a kinky set up. This is a full story about two genuinely complex leads, with an efficiently drawn fantasy/historical setting that was intriguing and plausible within the confines of the genre. (Another book which will probably have a narrow readership, given the BDSM and explicit sex.)

This is a short read. At first it seems pretty simple in plot, but it actually has a lot of depth if you look below the surface. I can't say much without spoiling it though.

I would love to read more about these two characters, to see how their life together turns out.

This short but fantastic treasure of a book is a keeper to re read over and over ,
Is was just so consise and perfectly written in the very short amount of time. His book is About a prince and his whipping boy, not much sex but eanough to leave you satisfied; this characters are under age characters so if that bothers you are warned .
THis book totally reminded me of another lovely book with heavy bdsm and a Prince and boy also:
THE PRINCE'S BOY by Cecilia Tan .
This one is a bit less gruesome and

This wasn't a bad story, but in my opinion is was way too short. I felt as if there was so much more I needed to know. It also left me feeling a little cheated as I would have liked to have known how the story would continue...what would happen next.

I am up in the air about this book. I liked the concept of it, but would have preferred a much longer story. There was so much that still needed explained and y
