Nice sweet romance.

Darby and Reid’s love story was enjoyable read.
After surviving cancer, Darby is trying to move on in life. Reid is a wedding planner and he meets Darby in one of the weddings. Their first meeting was cute with the Cinderella reference being thrown in. Then as they get more closer, they realize their love for each other. Naturally neither of them are willing to commit because of the cancer issues.
Though at times the story seemed slow, thoroughly enjoyed the romance. Lovely read

Slow

This is a long book that IMHO would have been better shorter. Interesting plot and characters, but I found it very slow going.

Love Everlasting by Tracey Alvarez
Stewart Island #10

Every single book I have read by this author is a keeper and one that I will revisit. Her characters are people I would love to meet and spend time and the nice thing is that I can do just that when I sit down and read the words that have been written.

One is not given guarantees in life so one should focus on the present and make each day worth living – and that is just what Darby is doing. Sure, she has had to deal with breast cancer but she

Three and a half stars.

Darby Livingstone is a veterinary assistant with a menagerie of cats and a dog, she's had breast cancer but her hair is growing back and she going for life full-throttle, including trying out for the part of Cinderella in a local production to support Sunflower House which provides accommodation to cancer patients while they are having treatment at the local hospital. Unfortunately being nearly six foot tall and a bit of a klutz means Darby is more likely to get one of the

I’m always excited when another Tracey Alvarez novel is announced. So much so, that I shelve what I am reading to slip into the world Ms Alvarez so wonderfully creates.
Her books are pure escapism – the kind you look forward to relaxing into at the end of a busy day, and happily read until you just have to switch off the light.

So, when I read Reid Hudson, MacKenna Jones’ side-kick from Saying I Do, was the co-star in Love Everlasting, I couldn’t wait to read it. While Reid may not be your typic

Darby is many things. She's a vet-nurse, she's a community theater actress, a daughter, a sister, a full-fledged clutz, and a member of the Boobie Sisters. She's a Survivor. Reid is a designer turned wedding planner for Invercargill's boutique bridal shop, Next Stop Vegas. Darby has recently been cast as Ugly Step-Sister #2 and Wardrobe Director for the theater's production of Cinderella and MacKenna, owner of Next Stop Vegas has agreed to donate the material for costumes if they can convince Re ...more

This is a beautiful story of finding the right person to love. Darby and Reid are not looking for love when their lives collide, and even though they both try to fight their feelings love has a way of winning in the end. There are lots of emotions in this book and the topic of cancer is handled in a thoughtful and respectful way, anyone who has had a relative or loved one with cancer can relate, but it has lots of fun upbeat moments. A great read with a cameo appearance from characters from an e ...more

Having been on the sidelines with someone who has had triple negative breast cancer, this story uplifted me in a different way than most romance books. Like Darby, the heroine in the book, my family member is a survivor so I related to Darby more than most. The story and writing is Alvarez good and the characters are wonderful. I loved that the heroine wasn’t perfect and I loved that she was comfortable in that. The fairy tale twist was cute. A lot of fun and a great romance.

Love Everlasting maybe decades long or it may just be until cancer takes you away. This could be a really depressing book, but even though these characters have been ravaged by the effects of cancer on themselves or their loved ones they have persevered. Can they take one more step and take a chance on each other? This touching story is relatable to all of us one way or another, but it is also a sweet sexy romance with so many “feels”. Love, loved it.

Great rom-com uh a message of hope

This is a great rom-com that also touches on the topic of breast cancer (victims, survivors, family).

Darby is part of a community theater group that's putting on Cinderella, and the proceeds go to re-roof a house for cancer patients to stay at while they're getting treatment. Another actress ropes her friend MacKenna into providing fabric for the costumes, and she suggests asking Reid to help sew them. Darby asks him.

I'll admit part of the draw for me to this

A sweet, entertaining read!

If you haven't read Tracey Alvarez before, Love Everlasting would make a great place to start. Its hero, Reid, is best friends with Saying I Do 's MacKenna; it's very much Reid and Darby's book, though, and stands alone very well.

Though there's some heavy duty issues here--ramifications of breast cancer play a pretty big role throughout--there's also an undeniably light-hearted feel to this book too, and many of the si

I thought that this book turned out to be a good balance between lightheartedness and heavy hearted. This book is a good one to read on how to handle your fear of being in a relationship that you know might be short from the start. Darby has had breast cancer and is now on the road to being cancer free, but in the back of her mind is the knowledge that cancer could come back at any time. Darby is involved in a production of Cinderella to help raise money for Sunflower House which is a place for ...more

Some unusual main characters, with some capital "C" fears, show how important living in the now is in Love Everlasting.

I say unusual, since we don't normally see a breast cancer survivor as a main character. I also say unusual, since we don't normally see super-talented men as master sewers. Both Darby and Reid may not typically be the people we see in romance, but they didn't feel awkward or out of place in their story.

There was a lot of push-and-pull between Darby and Reid. Darby, not wanting

Read in a day!

All of Tracy Alvarez’s books are 4-5 star reads for me and this one was no exception. I loved Darcy’s strength and conviction. She is a breast cancer survivor who refuses to let it dictate her life. It’s not something she hides nor is it something that she puts out there.

Reid is a character we’ve met before. To help out a friend, he sews the costumes for Darcy’s production of Cinderella. As they work together, sparks develop. However, once Reid finds out Darcy had cancer, he begins

This is quite a quirky story. Darby had breast cancer at twenty four, four years earlier, and had to have a mastectomy. She meets Reid at a wedding, and there is an instant attraction between them, but she is terrified to get involved, it will be a while before she can say she is cancer free, and she believes the cancer will return; and she doesn’t want anyone to be forced to look after her. Reid has a somewhat similar problem, his mother died of breast cancer, he nursed her through it and his h ...more

This was an entertaining, sweet read.
Reid is a character that we've seen briefly in previous books by Ms Alvarez in a supporting role. Here he takes center stage as our romantic lead. His lovely, if somewhat awkward co star is Darby. From a cute first meeting, to budding friendship, and struggles of acceptance Reid and Darby were both characters that I genuinely liked and wanted to spend time with.
Ms Alvarez has a unique talent for taking serious issues and addressing them in a way that makes

When I first read that Darby had cancer, I was concerned that this would be a depressing book. Then learning Reid's mom had passed away from the same thing, I was really conflicted about continuing the book.

I should have known that Tracey Alvarez would have taken a difficult subject and turned out a sweet, sensual, sexy romance full of emotion.

Neither Darby nor Reid were expecting anything when they started to work together. There was an attraction between them that was very obvious. Darby had c

Ms. Alvarez has a talent for writing about normal everyday people that grab our hearts. Darby is a slightly wacky cancer survivor. She loves bed taking the stage in the local theatre productions but dreams of being the leading lady. She’d love it if her Prince Charming would swoop in & express his everlasting love. She doesn’t think it will ever happen to her though.

Reid enjoys his job masterminding the organization of weddings & other events. He’s used to “bridezilla’s” but they still manage t

Love That Overcomes Fear

Tracey Alvarez has once again written an amazing story that transcends the "traditional" romance genre and yet more than delivers on love, laughter, and true love. She is currently the wardrobe designer for the production of Cinderella. So, enter Reid Hudson, the totally hot wedding planner from Next Stop, Vegas

A wonderfully entertaining Rom-Con

Love Everlasting provides the reader with everything you could ask for; romance, comedy, excellent character development, all while dealing with the VERY serious and long term effects of living with breast cancer! Ms. Alvarez's WICKED sense of humor, not to mention many of her unique turn-of-phrases, will doubtlessly leave you belly laughing as deeply as they did me.😜

Reid, a wedding planner, and sew-er of bridal gowns, is reluctantly roped into doing the costumes for the play, and Darby offers to assist him.

A very moving romance about a twenty-something breast cancer survivor and the man she's afraid to love because of her uncertainty that her recovery will hold. Reid, the hero, is manly and yet he's a whiz at the sewing machine! Plus I fell for the heroine's doggy Duke and loved the fairytale lived on the stage of a community Cinderella production while the story off-stage is so centered on the harsh reality of rebuilding lives post-cancer for survivors and family members alike.

Darcy Livingstone is an aspiring actor, veterinary assistant and breast cancer survivor. As wardrobe mistress she needs costume help and meets Reid Hudson, wedding planner and tailor extraordinaire. They both have a soft spot for the local cancer support house that is sponsoring the play. They work a lot together with tingles along the way, but they
