Maker of Footprints is a beautifully written novel about love, desire, relationships and passion. The central character Paul Shepherd is a complex troubled hero that you find yourself despising one minute and attracted to him the next. The story takes you on a journey with 2 couples and their relationship with each other. Jenna is a good girl, a clergyman’s daughter who has always seemed sensible and unadventurous. Her boyfriend Adam seems to tick all the boxes, sensible, safe. But meeting Adams ...more

Up for review today is Maker of Footprints by Sheila Turner Johnston. I confess, I wasn’t too sure about this book when I first began reading it because I was a third of the way through it and it was still really slow to me…but then it happened, I was hooked and I finally got into it.

Don’t misinterpret my lack of ability to get drawn into this story immediately as a sign that I found it boring, that’s not the case. It is more that the reader must go through quite a bit of reading about mundane d

This is a slow paced story; full of emotions and feelings that will put your life in perspective and start following your dreams for once and for all.
This is the story of Jenna, how she has a controlled life with her predictable boyfriend Adam; but everything will change when she will meet Paul, Adam’s brother. He is self centered but will make Jenna’s desires to change and make her to want things she never thought she would.
Paul is married and Jenna has a boyfriend, but this would not seem impo

I was intrigued by this book, the cover is very unique and it made me want to know what the book was all about. The characters are all well written and relatable, this is a story that will draw you in from the beginning and wont let you surface until the very end. I wanted to find out the ending but then I didn’t as I knew the book would be finished.

At school I was always disappointed with the essay titles that required factual writing – I wanted to tell stories. "What I did on my holidays" just didn't do it for me, unless I could write lies and make it all up! Filling jotters with stories about my pets and an attempt at a neighbourhood magazine pushed through unsuspecting neighbours' letterboxes led me on to writing mainly poetry in my late ...more

“People think loneliness is absence. It isn't. It's a filling up, a rising, spilling tide that crashes into every gully and chasm of your mind and soul until you're choked with emptiness, awash with desolation, thrashing in the foam of it, reaching for a hand to hold and yet finding no hand, no refuge, no comfort.” 3 likes
