Nikki Haley

Nikki Haley will in all likelihood become the first woman President of the United States, not because of her gender, but because she is one of the most amazing people ever. Shes tough. Shes no nonsense. And, best of all, she takes names.

Whatever fractures this country has, whatever divisions, Haley may be best positioned to bring us all together. She grew up in a world divided, but one where she was an outsider who didnt fit in to preconceived notions of racial division. And she

Todays bookshelves are overflowing with political books from members of both the Republican and Democrat parties, as well as opinions from those whose views represent those in other camps. Many explode and condemn by names the people who do not follow the same political beliefs. It was a welcome relief to see that type of behavior is not repeated in this book from Nikki Haley. One of the guiding principles

This is a good book about being a publicly responsible, active unifier--the state governor--in the face of a divisive and truly horrible event (the Charleston church murders of 9 African-American worshippers).

Along the way readers will understand the discrimination Haley herself endured growing up in rural South Carolina as the daughter of Indian Sikhs and how that experience continues to inform her approach. We also come to understand how much she loves South Carolina and its people.

In my opinion, when people see who wrote this book and that she is a Republican and if they are left of center on the political spectrum, they will determine it to be not worth reading. That would definitely be their loss. This is a great book for everyone to read IF they want to read about a strong and principled woman who rose to be the United Nation Ambassador for the United States. She is a woman in what typically is described as a mans world yet she not only survived she thrived and America ...more

Very interesting and vey well written. While I am a bit of a political junkie, I must say this book was really a joy to read. It is written in a concise matter of fact manner which makes it easy to read, comprehend and enjoy.

Admittedly, that was not the feeling at the outset. The book is written in first person, by Nikki Haley, so naturally there is a lot of I did this and I said that. It originally rubbed me the wrong way with a little too much chest thumping. But, when you consider the

While the book is well-written, and probably paid to be ghostwritten, is full of B.S. Ms. Haley is widely known for being stubborn, rude, and a war-monger. The idea that she would attempt to draw attention to the hawkish scoundrel that she is shows no shame ... and she has the balls to defend such horrible views on economic policy and immigration. If you're a scum-like person, you might identify with this book, but for the humanist and futurist, it was a read of simmering bile.
It's ok. The United Nations sounds like a complete and futile mess to me.

She's hard headed, and that's a take here. Difficult job all around.

I'm not sure other than the "grit and grace" that's there is core Nikki here in full exposure. I'm just not.

This is copy record to place herself for a future run for top spot perhaps. One thing is that I do believe she can express herself without the vitriol or habits of strongly partisan politico. Including NOT having any inclination for being a long,

I read this for two reasons. First, because I have thought since her role in the Emanuel Church tragedy and her role in inventing a good solution to an emotional issue on the Confederate flag - that she is a very smart and principled politician. Second, I wanted to understand her background and her thinking. Like the last book I read by Andrew Yang, Haley presents are very clear picture of herself.

When Haley was governor she almost immediately found herself immersed in a tragedy where an

Concise and Readable

If you are looking to read this book for gossip and details of some nonsense going on within the Trump administration, you will be disappointed. While the current news is full of one particular soundbite, that issue is relevant in this book within the larger scope of the authors time at the UN.

If you are interested in learning more about the author and her efforts as ambassador to the United Nations, then this is the book for you. The first 1/3 provide some family

Excellent. Her observations on the Obama admin/foreign policy as well as characters in DC today are spot on. She will make a great president.

Nikki Haley is not a politician that I agree with on the whole but I was interested to hear about her experience as an ambassador at the United Nations (UN). She is also rumoured to want to run for office in 2024 so I wanted to learn more about her experience and politics.

Learning about Haley's experience as a woman in government and as an ambassador with no foreign policy experience was interesting. Listening to the horrific things she's seen across the world was difficult to get through but I

I bought this after I heard President Trump had recommended it. Now I am convinced he hadn't read it or gotten a good summary. While Haley does everything she can to paint a positive light on her time in the administration it is clear that she experienced the undermining of the President during her work.

By the time I was 50 pages into the book I realized it was her attempt to position herself for future office. I started think of it as the "I" book. A quick glance through almost any page and

Wow! I highly recommend this audiobook!

My respect for Nikki Haley has increased through the reading of this book. She has deep convictions of right and wrong. She has always stood for justice and the hurting, no matter what the cost to her personally.

I appreciated her stories from being governor of South Carolina. And I greatly appreciated her stories from traveling the world as our ambassador. Her interactions at the United Nations, especially on the security council, were highly educational. I
Hmm I only know of Nikki Haley as a peripheral character in Trump's folly's cast of characters, so I can't really speak to the gulf between her rhetoric in this book and her actual actions (possibly a big gulf), or her possible sins of omission with regards to issues she could be associated with that might dim her moral shine (like the omission of commenting on the Trump jails for children of illegal immigrants). I read this book because I wanted to know what it feels like to be a UN ambassador, ...more

First, Nikki Haley is an amazing women. I have had the pleasure of hearing her speak several times.

There are two types of reviewers for this book. The Trump haters and the I am less concerned with Trump. For the first group, there is not much this book could have done to please them.

In fact the question is did they really read the book or just gloss over it and then run to bash the book. She must have drunk the kool-aid as many have written. She had the audacity to agree with the President on

Focused on her time as US Ambassador to the UN, Nikki Haley explains her mentality and decisions in negotiating dilemmas in Russia, China, Syria, Iran, and South Sudan. She is a proud defender of the US and its constitutional values, while she is also humble and wise. She describes times disagreeing with the President while also carrying out his wishes because he was elected by the people in our democratic system. In this way, the book would be a good choice for anyone who works in politics, ...more

Three takeaways;

Im more convinced than ever that Haley should be our first female President.

Im also more convinced than ever we should leave the UN, or at least kick them the hell out of the US. It is a joke of an organization.

I was never an Obama fan but I didnt realize some of the truly disturbing things he did/allowed to happen. I guess thats to be expected when you elect someone with absolutely zero executive experience to the highest office on the planet.

Nikki Haley is a strong, thoughtful leader who has a warm feminine voice that is both pleasing and diplomatic. This book gives insight into the backstory of recent events. The only thing wrong with the book is it isn't long enough! I dare say Nikki will be back in public service at some time. I hope soon.

so here it is. I think the UN is so interesting and I miss model UN more than words sometimes. And I LOVE Nikki Haley. Like honestly a big role model for me.

So thats it. Much love for Nikki Haley.
Great read. Concise telling of her UN experiences.
Would be great first female POTUS.

I don't particularly like Nikki Haley and I think her book helped solidify for me where we differ on our points of view on a variety of topics, not just political. The book itself was better written than many celebrity or political memoirs and that made things easier, but I frequently had to put it down and take a break from the propaganda. It felt like this was published (and very likely was) to later prove how she was not just another Trump-lackey while working as a member of his Cabinet and ...more

Ive long respected what little I knew about Nikki Haley, but this book brought new appreciation for her character and service to our country. I lost count how many times I was moved to chills or tears by her recollections of events while governor and at the UN. I also appreciated her candor in discussing her dealings with Trump, his administration, as well as friends and enemies of the US on the world stage. Simply put, her conservative standings and insight are refreshing. Should she continue ...more

Unapologetically AMERICAN. Must read!

I very highly recommend this book! It is absolutely timely with todays events. Haley gives a first hand account that Media has hidden from us. Haley recalls her time as Governor of South Carolina as theUS Ambassador to the United Nations. She is candid in her criticism of the UN - the hypocrisy that has always been evident to her (and to me) but seems to be an accepted norm. She is also critical of the eight year apologist tour of the Obama administration and

Without question, the most honest and inspiring political biography Of such a turbulent & divisive time in our political history. I can see Nikki Haley being a vice president in 2020 should Pence want out,and quite possibly br the Republican candidate for President in 2024.
If you read the book, you will see that neither of my forecasts are a stretch.

This book is a good reveal into the duplicitous strategy of the Republicans. We are a divided nation and this book tries to sound as if she was not part of the problem and that liberals and the media are, as always, to blame. On one hand, her exemplary compassionate reaction as South Carolina Governor to the horrific shootings at the Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church was to throw herself behind removing the confederate flag and pole at the State House. No mention of laws to restrict or ...more

Nikki R. Haley served as United States Ambassador to the United Nations from 2017 to 2019. She had previously served as Governor of South Carolina from 2011 to 2017, and in the South Carolina South Carolina House of Representatives from 2004 2010. While somewhat interesting, I felt this book featured limited insight. It only scratched the surface of who Nikki Haley is and that seems like a shame.

Haley is known for her direct communication style. During the 2016 Republican Primaries, her bless your heart response to a Trump Twitter attack was widely admired. With All Due Respect is very much written with this characteristic bluntness.

Haley begins with the tragic shooting at Mother Emmanuel Church and ends with her exit from the UN. The
