Sharp, smart, and sexy, Brown’s timely new series about the cut-throat world of college admissions is a must-read. As always, Brown’s cast of characters are a delicious mix of sweethearts, scoundrels and the just plain morally corrupt. Never predictable, Extracurricular is thoroughly readable and immensely enjoyable

The synopsis doesn't really give a flavor for what Extracurricular - Book 1 of 3: A Laugh-Out-Loud Series about Young Love, a College Admissions Cheating Scandal, and Parents Behaving Badly is really about. The beginning plays on the college admissions scandal from earlier this year (the one involving Aunt Becky from Full House). Then it goes back in time to when Audrey was in high school and a new, very handsome teacher is employed there. Reeling from a recent breakup, Audrey now has her eye on ...more

This is the 1st novel in Josie Browns new series. The series is based on 2 detectives that are investigating a college admission scandal (sound familiar?) However the 1st novel is mostly the back story about the characters and school involved in the investigation.

I really liked this book, the characters were all authentic, the story line was great and with a few unexpected twists through out it made for a quick fun read. My only complaint about the book is I found the 1st chapter a little

Josie Brown brings it, in this ripped from the headlines romp of a novel set in the world of academia and its shadow world – extracurricular activities that may not be legal. It has romance and intrigue, and a pace that doesn’t let up. Highly entertaining. Sure to delight Brown’s legions of fans.

I loved how Josie Brown set up this book. It opens with two detectives on an undercover operation, the goal being to collect evidence in the biggest admissions scandal ever seen. But this is actually book 2! As one of the (possibly) major players enters the conversation, the book transitions into what is really book 1.

Now for book 1. Book 1 takes place in an exclusive, private prep school. Headmistress Lavinia prefers to focus on students' free will and artistic expression. A large chunk of the

I had the privilege of reading an advance reader copy of Book 1 in the 3-book episodic EXTRACURRICULAR story by Josie Brown and WOW. Just, wow.

Great characters, great storylines. With an opening glimpse into Book 2, readers of Book 1 are introduced to the main characters while knowing the very uncertain future they all must face. We learn their complicated background and watch as one twist after another alters their lives.

Knowing there are two more books before this story is completely told and

Josie Brown has hit it out of the ballpark with this timely tale of family, friends, love and the morally corrupt.

As always, Ms. Brown’s writing is sharp, smart, and oh-so witty. She’ll have you laughing out loud one minute and cringing the next at her characters’ antics and comments. Filled with twist and turns and complicated emotions that lead to decisions that play pivotal moments in the characters lives this story will reach out and grab your attention from page one and not let go until the

I loved it- Can’t wait for the next book

This story got me hooked at the start. The subject is so current. The characters were believably written. I liked that the setting of the story took place in San Francisco. I use to live there and it made me want to come back for a visit. With out giving away to
much of the story, I like how it started out, then went back in time to give a back story of the main characters, then circle back to present time. I can’t wait to read the next installment of this

Extracurricular Extra Special

Josie Brown began this three part series dealing with a college admissions scandal eight years ago and the release now couldn't be more timely. You'll not want to put it down. Can't wait for the next installment. Any book by this author is a great read.

Delicious, hilarious, and addictive, Extracurricular has all the hallmarks of a classic Josie Brown book: fleshed-out, juicy characters, a to-die-for plot, and a ripped-from-the headlines premise. I absolutely loved it and must read the entire series! I received an advance reader copy.

Ah … I really thought this one was going to be for me. I’ve read Josie Brown and I’m a big fan of her novels, but I had a tough time with book one in the Extracurricular series. It started off really strong for me – I thought it was going to be a very timely story of college admissions scandals and I was curious to see how the plot lines would play out, but then it veered in a different direction that I had a hard time following. I do understand that this is a three part series and books one and ...more
