Cirone writes with a smart vulnerability that portrays the agony of relationship dysfunction while clinging to optimism in a way that is honest and real without ever either wallowing in self-pity or using humor (which does find its place here) to be dismissive of authentic, difficult feelings and experiences. I loved this hybrid novel of essays filled with passion, love, lust, mysterious Sicilian charms and heartbreak. Bold. Brave. Beautiful! Nicole Cirone is an author to watch—she is on her way. Bravo!
