An early aviation title from the author, with a selection of photos intelligently captioned. Clearly aimed at the younger reader, I came across this recently in a second-hand bookshop, and revisited it as I recalled it being possibly the first aviation book I ever had as a child - I was keen to see whether it still had whatever it had to inspire me to a lifelong interest in aviation. I have to admit that the well chosen images still have that 'wow' factor, with one or two exceptions and I was left wondering why kids don't get books as good as this anymore, with no attempt to dumb-down captions. Fantastic.
