So I read a few books about raising 2 year olds lately. I don't feel like I really learned much from them (except for getting some ideas about potty training).
I guess for me the biggest benefit of reading these books was just to realize that some of the behavior that shocks me from my 2 year old is normal!

Decent parenting book for the 12-24 month old period that covers pretty much all the bases, although none in extensive detail. I think the primary use for this kind of book is to reassure yourself that your kid is 'normal' (more or less, and whatever "normal" means) and that you're doing all right with him or her.

I thought this was a pretty good, cover-the-basics sort of book. Not a whole lot of earth shattering information, but there were some good suggestions.

Short and sweet. It was a great check in on where my son should be at and gave some good suggestions... It didn't really go into depth however on things like dealing with tantrums.

A fast, easy read with some helpful ideas for toddlers. Many of the suggestions seem advanced though, more appropriate for closer to 24 months than
12 months.
