A tell all, bare all story of a woman’s terrible childhood within a dysfunctional family - alcoholic father, and cold, distant mother. She describes her terror and feelings of inadequacy along with the search for self acceptance. Sometimes the reader sympathizes; sometimes the author just sounds as if she has some whining to get off her shoulder. Not a strong literary effort.
