Renowned author Deborah Blaz once again provides practical suggestions to help you engage your students in foreign language learning. In this book, she provides examples of over 90 classroom strategies and activities and links them all to the ACTFL Standards.
Though short on research and lacking depth in parts, the focus of this book is simply teaching the five standards and providing activities based upon them. The reason that this book received only four stars is that the activities listed within were (seemingly) solely geared to Romance and Germanic languages. There were very, very few mentions of Japanese, Chinese, or anything outside of "normalcy" in language teaching, and, in a book geared toward all language educators, this seems myopic at best. More balance would help improve the scope of this book.
Definitely worth reading, even in light of this oversight.
