‘The sheriff always seemed to aim at his own foot when he fired off his mouth.’
Angela Ruth Strong continues her super fun ‘The CafFUNated Mystery series with this absolutely delightful offering. Featuring Tandy and Marissa, one a coffee drinker, the other a tea drinker, who open up a part coffee/part tea shop, this one is just so much fun all the way to the very end.
People just seem to fall dead right near Tandy and Marissa. Then they think they are the best ones to solve the case. And they are

3.5 Stars: This is the second book in The CafFunated Mystery series, but the first I read. It can be read as a standalone, but I will go back and read the first to get all the backstory and character development that I missed. This is a light-hearted, fun little cozy mystery, with some inspiration about relationships and communication. I enjoyed the small-town setting with the tea shop/coffee shop as a meeting place for the residents of this small town in Ohio. The main characters, Tandy and Mar ...more

Grab a cup of coffee and a comfy chair! Tandy and Marissa are back and as funny as ever!

A Cuppa Trouble was filled with witty banter, animated characters and excellent comedic timing! The suspense really amped up towards the end, with the culprit remaining a secret the entire time! I was genuinely surprised with the reveal!

This book was a super fun read and positively the definition of a cozy mystery! It’s also quite “punny”! I was excited to read an excerpt from the

Love this one! A "who done it?" that kept me on my toes throughout the whole story. The characters are very interesting people. I laughed and I held my breath at times wondering if all would work out well. Great read. I received a complimentary copy of the book. No review was required.

Let me start with a disclaimer: I didn’t read A Caffeine Conundrum (the first book in the series). I know, I know. All of you who are shaking your heads at me right now have the right to do so but there are only so many hours in a day and even more books!

With that said, it took me a little while to get these two main characters straight in my head (but not so long a while that it became annoying). I’m sure part of that was because I was picturing their personalities opposite of how the author wr

“Choosing to be vulnerable in a relationship was about as scary as being captured by a killer.”

Strong never disappoints me with her stories. Her contemporary novels and novellas always have plenty of charm, wit, mystery, fun and camaraderie between the characters.

A Cuppa Trouble is the second book in Strong's CafFUNated Mysteries and as ridiculous as Marissa is (she is a big-time klutz!), I couldn’t help shaking my head and chuckling at some of the crazy predicaments this girl gets herself into.

Our favorite amateur sleuths are back in this second book of the CafFUNated Mysteries. I enjoyed the mystery and the dynamics between Tandy and Marisa and their love interests. Ms. Strong knows how add a good helping of humor while keeping us guessing in this cozy mystery.

This is a light-hearted, fun little cozy mystery. The tea shop/coffee shop is a great setting for the reader to “meet” the people of this little community. The main characters, Tandy and Marissa, are quirky, but that’s what gives them their charm. The mystery was an interesting one, and the ending was worth reading the book. The author, in a very entertaining way, addresses throughout this story the problem that couples sometimes have communicating well with each other. She gives some good tips ...more

This novel was a fun, exciting, cozy mystery. It had wonderful relationships and strong characters. I was felt feeling like a missed some character development with this one. I now know that it is because this is the second book in the series. But it stood on its own like a standalone. I will say I had the culprit figured out pretty early in the book but it did not take any of my enjoyment out of it. I really did enjoy this. It wasn’t a new favorite or anything. I would highly recommend this boo ...more

From page one, readers will be laughing outload at the hilarious situations in this sweet and charming story. This is the second book in The CafFunated Mysteries series and continues the story of two rivals turned friends and business partners. It’s about how these two friends always somehow get mixed up with some mystery that is going on in town and how they help solve the mystery. Along with the cozy mystery feel, there is a bit of light romance, but it’s not a main focus of the novel. The sto ...more

The second in the series. This book finds Marissa and Tandy having just opened their shop when mystery quickly ensues. A fun, quirky read. Marissa is growing on me.

A Cuppa Trouble is book two in The Caffunated Mysteries. I didn't have a chance to read book #1 so it took me a bit to acquaint myself with the characters. I enjoyed this story. It was a light and fun story. It's a mystery so you'll want to know what is going to happen next. I like that it focused on solving the crime instead of the crime itself. If you like Hallmark mysteries, you'll enjoy this book!

I recommend this to my family and friends.

Marissa and Tandy are back and this time they own a shop together and have become best friends, that alone was fun to read in this nutty sequel. Then a customer is murdered and I was disappointed about who the victim is.

What I didn't like in the story in this caffeinated sequel...
Tandy's boyfriend, wishing she had ended up with someone else
Marissa comes off kind of bratty in this story
I had trouble keeping up with the minor characters

However, those comments are just my preferences, the story nev

I’ve read a couple of Angela Ruth Strong’s books and they are so fun and entertaining. I was given the opportunity to read the first in this series. A Caffeine Conundrum came out at the end of last year and it was such a joy to read.
We were introduced to Tandy and Marissa. Two very different fun women who each LOVE their choice of drink. They decide to open a shop and one thing after another happens to them, including a real live murder. They solved the case and became great friends. Now in thi

Initial Reaction: Blah! Sure this had its moments but as a whole I didn't like this book.

A Cuppa Trouble is about two young women, Tandy and Marissa; Tandy is a coffee lover while Marisa loves tea and together they open Coffee Conundrum a coffe/tea shop. On the opening day of their shop their first customer is murdered right outside their establishment. Being a small town the murder hits the community very hard, leading the women to look for the culprit while also planning for their Valentine's

When I read book, I so often read them as an escape... a break from day to day life to take a peek into a different world. While I tend to lean towards romantic suspense, those can take on a bit of a darker tone at time. Sometimes, we just need a little fun, a little humor and a little cheesiness. 'A Cuppa Trouble' by Angela Ruth Strong provided all of that and so much more.

Reading this book, I was reminded a bit of the Hallmark mysteries that I so adore. While they are murder mysteries, they so

It's Valentine's Day! Finally Tandy and Marissa are ready for the grand opening of Caffeine Conundrum. Both are competing to see who can win over the most customers. However, things go a little awry when their first customer dies. All evidence points to his being mixed up in a car theft ring but things are not always as they seem. Tandy and Marissa feel the need to clear his name since he was their first customer. However, when Tandy's charming ex returns to woo her and too many random people kn ...more

A madcap mystery

My rating is 3.5 stars

Marissa hated the snow boots Conner gave her. After all, they were ugly. If only they were pink, they would have been much better! And of course, these practical yet undesirable boots ended up playing a significant role in this madcap adventure!

As the cars began disappearing, the mystery increased. Author Angela Ruth Strong mastered misdirection as the myriad of murder suspects multiplied. I enjoyed seeing each person and their potential motive and means.

This is another wonderful work of fiction by Angela Ruth Strong. It’s a comedy/romance/mystery joyride. 🙂

A Cuppa Trouble is the second in Angela’s CafFUNated Mysteries series. The first introduced the two main characters–sassy & savvy Tandy and beautiful & klutzy Marissa–and this builds on their relationship and fun dynamic. Chapters switch back and forth be

I remember reading one or two Nancy Drew mysteries when I was much younger. I can’t say that I recall enjoying them as much as I am enjoying The CafFUNnated Mysteries by Angela Ruth Strong. For starters, these stories have so much quirky humor that they are fun to read. OK, maybe some of it is corny but I suppose I have always had a thing for corny humor. However, just the interactions between the various characters at times lead to humorous situations aside from the funny comments they make. On ...more

A Cuppa Trouble was a fairly fun read! I had a hard time getting into it, it is the second book in a series but I would say that you technically don’t need to read book 1. I hadn’t, which was why the first few chapters were slightly confusing, because you just jump right in and there were so many characters and I was like I have no idea what’s going on. But just like any book, it all started to make more sense at time went on and I had a fun time reading it.

There’s a little bit of mystery and so

A Cuppa Trouble by Angela Ruth Strong, book 2 in the CafFunated Mysteries series, is an enjoyable read full of some what quirky characters who find themselves in some, well, quirky situations.

Tandy and Marissa are best friends and together they’ve decided to open a coffee shop together. Wait, make that a coffee and tea shop for one only drinks coffee, the other tea. The coffee shop is on the first floor while tea shop will be in a quaint loft still undergoing construction.

A Cuppa Trouble is a Christian mystery/suspense romance book by author Angela Ruth Strong. This is my introduction to the author, and it’s book two of The CafFUNated Mysteries Series. Isn’t that a lovely cover?!

Angela Ruth Strong’s, A Cuppa Trouble while lacking incredible depth is still mildly entertaining. Strong’s main characters, Tandy and Marissa whose interests range from a fierce rivalry of coffee versus tea to fashion versus sensibility struck this reader as somewhat superficial.

The author introduces many characters with their own mini stories making it difficult to follow the story’s true action. The mini squabbles between business partners Tandy and Marissa along with their significant other

I’m not going to give away any spoilers but this is a cute story filled with mystery and romance. Tandy and Marissa are two girls who are living the American Dream running their own coffee shop with their grand opening fast approaching on Valentine’s Day. Once they found out someone was murdered, they take matters into their own hands when they try to find the killer who broke into their cafe. This isn't my normal kinda of read but the synopsis was intriguing so I decided to try something new. Boy am I glad I did! It was a thrilling adventurous read! My son recently had me watch a movie where a couple has to solve a crime they are being framed for and the wife is a mystery novel fanatic and uses what's she's read in books to help her solve the crime. This book made me see why people like that enjoy this genre. I may have to add mystery thriller to my favorite list of genres!

Another cafFUNated mystery from Angela Ruth Strong. Her main characters Tandy and Marissa are fun and engaging. They open up their coffee & tea shop the week of Valentines Day. Opening day, George drops dead in their new shop. Being the inquisitive pair they are, walk into a series of car thefts in the area. Then, Tandy’s ex boyfriend shows up to complicate things... This one has a lot of plot turns which will keep you turning the pages. But are Tandy and Marissa in over their heads this time? W ...more

This book was so much fun to read! It’s filled with mystery, suspense, twists & turns, and sprinkled throughout with little bits of humor, while still conveying some of the important principles of communication and relationships, like understanding and vulnerability, trust, and recognizing each other’s value.
