Welcome to Beautiful Beasts Academy, where the only thing more dangerous than the haunted grounds are the students themselves.

Life as the daughter of the city’s most prominent Vampire was tough enough.

Bodyguards with fangs.

Paparazzi everywhere I turn.

Dates with an overbearing Demon.

I hated it all. So when the opportunity to attend Academy reared its head, I jumped at t

Ok where to start, let me firstly say that only these wonderfully wacky ladies could create something this bonkers but brilliant. The book starts off a little slow but this is needed for world building and Characteur definition and once it gets going its a really good storey. Mor is a fantastic lead Heroine as she has an air of vunerability about her and isn't a kick ass heroine from page one. Ava - well what can I say other than I couldn't have guessed what shifter she was and that's where the ...more

When Morwenna Livingstone’s father presents an opportunity for her to attend Bestias Academy, she jumps at the chance. This 99 year old vampire will finally get to experience a normal school life, or so she thinks.

But before Mor has even settled in, she’s quickly making enemies in a school full of supernaturals - vampires, demons, ghouls and shifters. On the plus side the dream friendship she’s been waiting for might just be waiting for her.

Manicures and Mayhem is a great new academy series, w

Ava is like my new favorite character. Her and Chuck need to get busy. Haha this was a really good story. Vampires, wolves, and much more. Really enjoyed it. Cannot wait to read more on the next book.

The authors may be nice people, but resorting to buy fake reviews for their horrendously written book? Hilarious and pathetic. I've seen better writing from 6th graders and that's just judging on technical execution alone, so it was no surprise that all these five star ratings are from accounts that are copying and pasting the same reviews for dozens of books. For example:

Low effort, really, even when buying a dime a dozen reviews. Just change up a few wor

This book was ok. A little rushed in my opinion, but I liked it well enough to want to continue on in the series. I loved the secondary character of Ava (Mor's best friend) she was my favorite character in the whole novel.

The wolf shifters were also interesting and I would love to see more from them in the next book and get to know them a little better. There was not much romance in this story, but the little hints that there were felt a bit forced to me, so I will have to see how that aspect w

I'm so enjoying this series!!! If I thought the prequel was awesome, book one in this series was amazing. Morwenna and her rich people problem, add the facts that she spoiled, she wasn't getting any sympathy points from me. But more and more thorough out the story she changed, she learned, and I loved her. Also can we talk about how awesome Ava is!!! She kind soul and definitely went the extra mile for her friend Mor. Throw in plenty of intrigue, suspense, and action and we had a hell of read so ...more

*I received a free copy of this book which I voluntarily chose to write an honest review for.

Okay I am officially hooked on this new world and its fantastic characters!! We follow Morwenna an important Vamp that is forced to enroll in the Academy. She thinks this will be the perfect chance to get away and live for a moment but life has other plans once she arrives. Full of intrigue, snark, danger, mystery, and so much more that will keep you turning the page until you run out wishing you had mor

Just couldn't get into this story, the heroine is too much of an entitled princess type character for me to get behind & enjoy let alone want to read about. The name dropping of all her designer clothing/shoes/bags was just way out of my comfort zone. Her disdain at the shabby room at the academy was the breaking point for me. No way do I want to read about a character like that. The writing could use more from a content editor & proof-reading.

Good idea but is in desperate need of a good editor! I couldn't even finish the book I only made it 1/3 of the way through before I had to give up.
First off, the grammar is awful. There are hundreds of run on sentences. The thought process is cluttered and clunky.
The author tries way too hard to be descriptive but doesn't actually describe anything. The descriptions don't even match throughout the book. The school looks old on the outside but brand new on the inside yet her dorms are filthy? A

Ok, first the good stuff. Really enjoyed the story. I liked how Mor’s character developed. I liked the different creatures introduced to the story and at the academy. Loved the bestie and how the two girls grew to be the tightest bffs.

On the other hand, the love interests didn’t spark much love or heat. It was more protectiveness. Those relationships did not naturally develop. We know hardly nothing about Judas and his pack other than he loves a challenge and wants to protect Mor. There were lay

Mysterious, action filled fun!

What a fun book this was to read. It starts off with a bang and goes from there. I really liked the unpredictable story line that kept you guessing reading. Looking forward to whats in store for Morwenna and Ava and their potential men!

I'm slightly on the fence about this one. While I understand in the world-building a 99 years old vampire is still considered young, the fact the students act like teens, and immature ones at that, just didn't work for me. There's some really witty dialog, and very interesting characters, but this read like a mean girls/teen high school story--a genre I don't care for. Other readers of YA may find the book more appealing, which is why I rounded up my 3.5 to a 4-star rating.

Manicures and Mayhem by Mila Young and Kim Faulks is book one in their Beautiful Beasts Academy. Prepare to dive into a fun, fast-paced novel that will have you rolling your eyes, giggling, leaning forward in eager anticipation, and begging for more by the end.

Was very excited with the concept of this book, but I was let down by how underwhelmed I was. The plot could have been amazing, but it took a backseat to the teenage drama going on between the characters, which bothered me because the main character is supposed to be 99 years old.

I didn't like the heroine either because, she wants to be independent and says she's not like the snobby rich girls she's always surrounded with back at home, but then turns around and turns her nose at a bedroom (whic

"Did he realize...badge or no badge...we were the predators, and he was the prey?"

I wasn't so sure about this book when I started reading. Academy isn't usually my thing, because I usually think of children and strict tutors and HP universe altogether. And it bothered me (and still kind of does, if I'm being completely honest) that the characters are all around one hundred years old and still considered "teenagers." But I eventually understood that the different supernatural races all age at a v

Vampires, Wolves & Sea Creatures - oh my!

So I totally friggin' loved this book! Mor is not what I expected at all. A pampered vampire mob princess who's on her own for the 1st time in 99 years....well it's been intriguing seeing her handling herself in the "real" world. I love her moments of sass but I especially adore her obsession with 90210. She dreams of finding her Dylan - same girl, same! The wolves - Judas, Nero & Bond, man do I hope we get to know them better in the next book, es

Umm... huge problem. One that I couldn't for the life of me overlook.
Not really a spoiler I don't think.
SHE'S 100 YEARS OLD. Like yeah okay that's cool, but then she acts like she's 15... maybe 16. All her friends are normal high school ages (16 ish?) and they act more mature than she does. It's just a huge issue I have. And I'm up to book 3 (apparently I like torturing myself) and so far her age isn't impacting anything. I would kind of understand it if there was more to it, but I feel like bec

💕WOW💕

This might be my favorite book I have read this year! I was unsure how much I would like Mor since she is a very pampered princess and I almost sent the book back before we got to Bestias. I am so glad I stuck with it because IT BLEW MY SOCKS OFF!!

Mor is the daughter of a vampire mob boss, so she isn’t really a stranger to violence. A dead body makes her heave, so she is kind of delicate for a vampire. Her new roommate at school is a powerful kraken who seems pretty mild-mannered until you

Ok start but needs a lot

Ok read, I liked it but had issues with the underdevelopment of the characters, we get a few references to hair color and eye color but not much else. Also we find out a little about the bff but not much of everyone else, I wanted to know more about the wolves? S**** I even wanted to know about the felines! This story didn't have much of that information I needed in a back story , we get no background into why there is Some kinda hate between these sups, yet at the end th

Another school-oriented story, this time with the vampire daughter of a major vampire figure who has his own enemies. Morweena, the girl, is snobbish and egotistical. That alone can cause her problems in the school, not counting the fact that she has her own bodyguard.

So, unpopular from the start. It doesn't help, of course, that she finds a dead body in her room. Her seemingly only friend becomes involved (Ava, who herself lacked friends.) There's also a werewolf that she becomes attracted to.

Umm

I'll start with saying that the best part of this book was Ava. She made me laugh and was the best best-friend in the hide-the-body and kick-all-the-butts kind of way. I'm way more interested in discovering her back-story and future than Morwenna's.
I didn't particularly like Morwenna. For supposedly being 99 years old, she behaved like a teenager and swung between being immature and really stuck up. Like at first she was all hating her privileged life and wanted to escape and be normal, but t

The best friend ever

At first I thought the main heroine, Mor, was a spoilt vampire princess but I grew to like her by the end. She has her own issues to deal with and turns out to be strong and a true friend. However, I really liked her best friend Ava, maybe even more than Mor, and her developing relationship with Chuck. I hope we get to see a lot more them in the series, and maybe even their own book…You have to read the book if you want to know while I like the friend so much. The three wolv

The author states thus book is for 18+, but I'm not sure why. There is no sexual situations, there is some mild mild, so maybe that's the reason.
I would say this is YA. Morwenna is an interesting character and it looks like her life is just going to get more exciting. The scholl is for all sort of beasties, but also has a couple if humans just to show they can all get along. In some ways the school is typical with bullying, popular kids, and such. This school takes the typical to extremes, so mu

Kracken and werewolves and vamps... oh my!

Manicures and Mayhem centres around Mor (or Morweena amongst her other nicknames!) who is not your average vamp.
She takes her blood organic in a cup, can’t hunt (unless it’s for designer clothes) and binges on 90210 reruns. But she makes up for it in sass, determination and style.
While Mor navigates the perilous halls of Beastias Academy she will encounter friendship, hatred, and the attention of some very determined (and sexy) wolves.

I finished reading this book in one sitting.
The story is auite interesting and hilarious. I just love Morwenna. She's s a different kind of vampire and doesn't really act like a proper vampire. However, she has a strength in her. Ava is her best friend. A princess and one freaking cool shifter of the sea. I loved how you think she's demure but she's scary and cool. I wonder if her relationship with a certain bodyguard will further develop. Speaking of relationships, we have some wolf shifters fo

I have been an avid reader for longer than I can remember, desiring the darker, edgier works of Bram Stoker, Stephen King, Dean Koontz. I first started writing in High School giving that away when my first attempt was nothing more than dribble. I wish now that I kept at it, pursued it with a hunger that I currently possess.

Writing is my passion, it is what fuels the fires inside of me and it is a
