Fairy Tale Lies was a compelling and intriguing read. I don't read a lot of contemporary romance so it was challenging at first to get past there wasn't intense fighting or dire situations to deal with. But once I came to grips with the idea these are real-life situations, not fantasy or paranormal, I have to say I really enjoyed this book.
I connected with Jacob. I thought he was the ultimate man's man. A modern day Alpha male who was in tune with what, and who, he wanted. Greta on the other ha

Can we just please start with this cover? Because yes, I very much DO judge a book by its cover and this one is STUNNING! Okay I might be mildly biased because men with facial hair is a BIG weakness of mine. And Jacob certainly fulfills that need for me.

That said... Jacob is basically a walking, talking fantasy all on his own. He has that incredibly enticing level of confidence just bordering on arrogance, but in a stupidly sexy way. Not only that, but he isn't the typical romance story billiona

After I received my copy of Fairy Tales Lies, I settled down one lazy afternoon with a glass of wine and started reading. Three hours and a bottle of wine later, I lifted my head and sighed with longing. Greta was the type of woman I could never relate too. She's frustratingly classy, formal and elegant. Jacob was...an effing GOD. Greta drove me crazy. Jacob made me hungry. Greta tugged at my heart strings. Jacob tugged at other things. Greta was bred to follow traditions, Ja

This is a very good contemporary romance between Greta, a graduate student from a wealthy family, and Jacob, a self-made businessman with a blue collar background.

While desperately attracted to each other, they both carry the baggage of trust issues from their past. They decide to try spending enjoying each other's company casually, but struggle mightily keeping it that way.

First: Wow! I loved this book! This is my kind of story. DK Marie brings it all, the romance, the steam, the hot male MC that captured my heart. Most importantly, I love the heroine. I empathize with Greta’s lack of sophistication, and enjoyed taking the journey with her as she grows into a woman I admire.

The chemistry Greta and Jacob share is hot and fun from the minute they meet, and is peppered with all the obsta

What an amazing opposites attract story!

Greta and Jacob meet one rainy day when he comes to work at her wealthy parents home. An unlikely pair, a blue collar man and this woman raised in privilege, but their chemistry is undeniable. They both succumb to their lust on a stormy afternoon.

They meet again one day when that steamy afternoon comes back to haunt them when Jacob becomes one of Greta’s father’s clients. They try to keep things professional, but their feelings for each other are too hard

If you like imperfect, rounded characters; if you enjoy off-the-charts chemistry between the MCs; if you like a taste of wildfire from the get-go, you’ll want to check out this book.

Fairy Tale Lies follows Greta and Jacob, two people from very different worlds, as they negotiate their differences *and* their similarities. I’m not kidding about the chemistry; it’s what kept me going through the stretches where this book almost lost me. Yes, there were stretches. I was annoyed—at him, at her, at t

Love this story. The best part was the real problems that they had to face that threatened everything. I love a good love story with funny characters. Very heartfelt. I don't want to give away any spoilers but I really loved what happened when we let ourselves be vulnerable. These lovebirds came from different walks and struggled trying to make the pieces fit. This beautiful story is so real u can see it in your mind as you flip through pages. You'll forget your reading and join them as t

I really enjoyed Fairy Tale Lies. Though Romance is pretty far outside the genre I typically write and read in, I follow DK on social media and wanted to give it a shot. I loved DK Marie’s characters here. The dichotomy of their backgrounds worked perfectly to add some conflict to the story and keep me turning the pages to see how it would all turn out. Both of the main characters, Greta and Jacob, were very relatable and easy to invest in. She also builds great chemistry with the pair. If you’r ...more

DK Marie’s Fairy Tale Lies

DK Marie is a writer I stalk…I mean…follow online. I really enjoy her steamy poetry and snippets from her DK Masquerade, a series of flash fiction she is writing about a woman on the run from an abusive husband. Her character Liberty travels all around the world, seeking to find herself, and finds love along the way. Meanwhile, her Contemporary Romance, Fairy Tale Lies, was released in June. This is the first book in her Opposites Attract Ser

Greta is astonished when she attends a meeting being held to introduce an important new client and it turns out to be Jacob – with whom she had a brief afternoon fling but was still vivid in her memories. Neither Greta nor Jacob want to make waves professionally, but can they sort out their complicated personal feelings?

I found this steamy and sensual full length novel was surprising and engrossing. I thoroughly enjoyed the authors’ tone and writing style and found it both modern and easy to rea

I just loved it! The storyline, the writing, the characters. Now and then, I read about someone that is following me and loves to read about new authors. DK will have you turning the pages for more, from chapter one. How two people from a different world or should I say society. The rich girl that always follows orders from her high society mother, Greta, never wanting to be in her mother's matchmaking. Greta did want to follow her mother's rules any longer. This is the first book in a new series, and is Jacob and Greta’s story. Jacob has worked hard in order to have his dream career, and works with Greta on a job for her father, but they had met previously. Can they ignore the undeniable attraction between them though? This is a well written story which is humorous, entertaining and steamy. I was intrigued and hooked throughout and recommend for all.

DK Marie’s first book in the Opposites Attract series left me breathless for sure. This was my first foray into the romance genre, and after reading Fairy Tale Lies, I’ll be coming back for more. Greta and Jacob, are a magnetic, if unlikely pairing. Greta’s down-to-earth chic and Jacob’s working-man sizzle combine to form a cauldron of steaming romance you won’t want to miss. This was so much fun! Nice and steamy (but just the right amount), but sexy in a realistic way. The opposites attract theme was extremely well done and the overall story was contemporary and expertly crafted. This was the perfect read and I can’t wait for the next book in the series!

This book is a perfect blend of heat, humor and heart, and heat.... Did I mention the heat? Hot damn! Greta and Jacob are fire together. I loved Jacob and I miss him now that the story is over. I loved watching his heart open up as Greta crash landed deep within it. I loved watching Greta discover and grow into herself. Super fun to read and can't wait to see more by this author.

I love stories like this , where the two meet and hook up then part ways only for fate to bring them together again. But then her being from the upper class and him being a working man making his way with a career he has bled for.
Greta needs to grow up and decide if her love for Jacob is strong enough to get past her parents and the social society she grew up in.

Fairy Tale Lies is a peek into a budding romance between an unlikely couple drawn together despite significant obstacles. Greta is from wealth; Jacob is from the proverbial wrong side of the tracks. For fans of the bad boy trope, he's got the leather, tats, and motorcycle to boot. Oh, and he works with his hands - in more ways than one ;-)

There are serious issues keeping them apart, but serious connection drawing them together. The cycle of their relationship - a myriad of ups and downs - felt r

If you like well written romance with a good story line and interesting characters then you need to look no further. DK Marie does everything right in her debut novel, Fairy Tale Lies. Having recently started reading romance this book would have been enough to get anyone addicted to the genre.

Greta and Jacob meet randomly when he delivers a chandelier to her mother's home, and their chemistry is so potent, that they can't help themselves but to indulge in a steamy hookup. However, while the hookup is HOT HOT HOT, it doesn't end well when Greta's stepfather comes home early, so she panics & shoves him out the door, making him feel very dirty, and that's that, or so they thought. Fate intervenes, and they come face to face again when he ends up at her father's company, and they're task ...more

Okay, I'm going to admit that I'm a closet romantic. I tell people my favorite genre is Sci-Fi and Fantasy, which it is, but I also love a good romance. Especially one that is as well written as D.K. Marie's, Fairy Tale Lies. My husband wanted to take me on a romantic weekend getaway, so I thought, I'll bring a nice book along to read while we're sitting at the campfire. Without giving away too much, (I hate spoilers) let me say that the chemistry between Greta and Jacob was electric. I wasn't a ...more

They do say opposites attract. Fairy Tale Lies proves it.

What do you do when you love someone of a different society status and their snobby ex and snobby mom creates problems?

Greta was born into the elite, upper class. Her ex fiancee is worst than a douchebag. Her dad is strict but pretty cool in my opinion. Her mom and present husband are snobs. I watched Greta grow through this story. I understand her not wanting to create more chaos but she needed to take a stand against her mom and not let

While I don't read much Contemporary Romance, I thoroughly enjoyed Fairy Tale Lies. It was the perfect opposites attract romance between Greta (a wealthy, privileged woman) and Jacob (a rugged, slightly rough around the edges, blue-collar man). Their romance was steamy (and had some killer sex scenes) yet believable. DK Marie didn't shy away from some of the issues that would likely come up in a relationship where partners are from different worlds socially. I felt like she had the characters wo ...more

DK Marie’s a voracious reader. Her number one love is romance and devours any and all of its genres, but also enjoys thrillers, horror, and non-fiction. Basically, if there are words on a page and a spectacular story, she’s diving in, heart and soul.

However, there’s one thing she loves even more, and that’s writing her own steamy contemporary romances. They’re a mixture of heart, heat, and humor.
