Franklin W. Dixon

Dixon was also the writer attributed for the Ted Scott Flying Stories series, published by Grosset & Dunlap.
Canadian author Leslie McFarlane is believed to have written the first sixteen Hardy Boys books, but worked to a detailed plot and character outline for each story. The outlines are believed to have originated with Edward Stratemeyer, with later books outlined by his daughters Edna C. Squier and Harriet Stratemeyer Adams. Edward and Harriet also edited all books in the series through the mid-1960s. Other writers of the original books include MacFarlane's wife Amy, John Button, Andrew E. Svenson, and Adams herself; most of the outlines were done by Adams and Svenson. A number of other writers and editors were recruited to revise the outlines and update the texts in line with a more modern sensibility, starting in the late 1950s.
The principal author for the Ted Scott books was John W. Duffield.

This was the first Hardy Boys book I have read and while it is definitely young adult (missing lots of details and some scenes are cut short) the plot is good. It kept my attention for the short read that it is.

I knew they wouldn't but i really thought my favorite detectives would die by the hand of a ruthless man. I fell in love with Emu and Salamanji's relationship. It was the perfect human-pet relationship. I mean, a pet falls in love with you to the extent that it can't even eat outside your presence? A bit far-fetched but it's something we'd all wish to have. Shout out to all animal lovers. I didn't like the doctor or her partner but the chimps were incredibly crafty. I'll leave it at that

The story starts of with Frank and Joe or otherwise known as the hardy boys. Frank and Joe work at there favorite place, the zoo. Princess Salamaji of Rashipah has given the zoo a beautiful snow leopard. A sudden dramatic twist occurs when they realize that the snow leopard and the princess are missing. The hardy boys got a mystery on there hands that is ready to be solved. The hardy boys set out to find them and they discover a very important clue, a elephant and a little elephant are together. A robbery occurs and they must trace the robbers in order to find the leopard and princess. They find more mysterious clues that lead them to a jungle. Soon they are put to the test when they have to survive in the jungle from things such as snakes. The kidnapper who reveals himself tries to hunt the hardy boys down. The most hardest animal they have to face in the jungle is the kidnappers themselves. After being able to get away from tigers, they finally capture the kidnappers and free the snow leopard and princess.
I liked how this was a mystery book. This book had a lot of suspense to it, at first I thought the kidnapper was the princess because snow leopards are very rare and expensive now. I like how this book had many clues that made me exited every time I read about clues. I like how when I read it I feel like I am actually there. I didn’t like how the hardy boys couldn’t easily of escaped the jungle, it took many chapters in the jungle.
If I were to recommend this book, I would recomment it to mystery lovers. I would also recommend it to people who like suspenseful books and action books. I wouldn’t recommend this book to people who like fantasy books. I also wouldn’t recommend this book to those who aren’t mystery lovers.

April 10, 2016I decided to read Hardy Boys because i have read a couple of them before and really enjoyed it. Also I'm really into books that make you think or about detectives. Like the book because it made you feel as if you did not want to put it down, thats how i felt. Something new that i learned from this book was that don't judge everyone by how they look or talk. they may be really nice or really deceiving. An interesting character in the book would be Emi, the snow leopard. This is because Emi was really well trained and had formed a really strong bound with Salamaji (the princess). Whenever Salamaji was in trouble, Emi was always there to rescue her. There bond was so strong that they could sometimes communicate with each other. Also Emi and Salami were both raised together and they became really good friends.

THe Hardy Boys have to deal with another criminal. This time the criminal has stolen a prize possession of their friend.
They have to start from scratch as the criminal left no clues for them to follow up from. They suspected many people and the criminals were no of them. After that another robbery occurs and they have to find out who did that too. Is it the same criminal?
I would rate this story 4 out of 5 stars as I really enjoyed reading it and the setting couldn't have been better!

I really like The Hardy Boys series. They have an interesting plot and plenty of twists, and this one is no different. I think other teens should read this book because of the clever detectives.
