Master and his faithful and loving minions have been through dozens of dungeons, battles, and death-defying challenges. Both the fallen god and his women have grown their powers significantly, and now they have fixed their sights on Baudouin, the power hungry king of Tintagal.
They intend to destroy him and nothing will stand in their way.
Not even another group of fallen gods who may be just as powerful as Master.
When You Have Unlimited Vaguely Defined Powers Challenges are Boring Domestic bliss, plan to next conquer Tintagal.
Baudouin the leader has some negative history with the crew.
Reuniting with two of Annalise’s brothers for short ride to the frontline of the battle between Tintigal and Tamarisch. Banwolves on the ship. Master tames the dominant male Banwolf.
Carmedy crisis of confidence.
Way lopsided battle where overwhelming forces of Tintigal are taken out by Master’s power easily, with his side not suffering a single death. Four Gods showed up to participate in the battle on Master’s side for no known reason.
Meet the next god Nergal. He reveals some interesting additional details about Master. Then the team cuts him down pretty ruthlessly. And his dying breath he claims they could have been allies.
Inexplicably team is back to riding bantams, the banwolves left behind.
Arrive at Sangiam. Fighting blood curdlers, long distance discussion with Haruhi about interfering Gods.
Defeats a god that was a childhood friend. Master’s God name comes out.
Master then has to reveal his backstory and how he fell and was outcast by the Gods. Isolde his first human lover. Eros his second true mother.
Haruhi is under attack so Master translocates to her, easily saving her from four god-mages, killing three. Then claims her more completely before returning.
Killing evil bride killing Baudouin at his wedding ball. Rusalkas get their revenge.
Four other gods want to join in with Master’s cause for the fun of it. It is revealed that Isolda, Masters long dead original love, has descendants, presumably Master’s descendants also?
It seems conflicting emotions abound in the MC in this book. As the ‘God of the Underworld’ his real name is finally revealed, and his mission to take over the world then destroy the heavens is well underway, but he is also a loving husband with 2 wives and 3 other girls who he is willing to do anything to protect. Sometimes I feel the character is too loving in the way he treats the girls, and they treat him, but living as long as he has his previous loneliness may have impacted his relationships. I really like this series and its pace is about right, I hope more people read this series so the author continues to write more.
Th is series started out pretty simply, with a formula. Find a god, kill a god, absorb their powers, take over another country, spend some time getting to know the four minions.
Slowly, however, the depth of the mythology behind the gods has come to light, and the backstory to the dungeon god himself, and the four minions, though apparently soon to be five, each developed their own personality, quirks, and abilities. This book a lot of revelations come to light, and the story expands greatly as new forces and players come into the light. Well worth reading so far, and I do hope the author continues it.
This series has always been fun, but with the fifth book, Eric Vall has greatly expanded the story. New characters who could possibly be allies, but their plans may not be entirely aligned with our anti hero. Master no longer operates in a vacuum either. Forces are now moving to oppose him. Also, he spends more time making ghost noises with the girls.
I definitely enjoyed this one more than the rest. With each book in this series there are more developments that just make it more interesting. It's also nice to know his minions aren't locked to the original four. I love the possibilities some of the new characters represent to the series.
This whole series has been a joy to read . The characters are unusual but have the same hopes and fears and loved as every one else. The main villain changes gradually through the five books from a monster to a being that is still vengeful but is turning to justice and love.
Fun and excitement continue with the 5th book of the Dungeon Master series, and in this one we get further stories and information about the gods, their realm and our favourite fallen God himself.
But that revelation at the end? I'm looking forward to the next one! Already downloading to read!
This series just keeps getting better and better. I just love the world that has been created in this series. The relationship between the characters makes this series so fun to read. I can’t wait for the next book.
This book was good for how it has filled in the backstory of the MC and flesh out who the Master was as a God. Overall it was solid with decent growth of the plot and character development.
This is an enjoyable series which I hop continues. I did like the earlier ones better but If the author decides to end it I would hope he would write at least one more book to give the story a satisfying conclusion.
Overall was on par with the other books. I enjoyed the read. I do like that more gods, creatures and plots are being introduced but I do wish more creative magic or new spells would be brought to the mix.
The story continues as Master and his minions continue their march across the northern territory bringing more godly power to Master and territories under his rule.
I love this series are you kidding me.The dark lord is a nice breath of fresh air compared to a goody two shoes hero blah.Keep the series alive brother
This is a well thought out and intriguing series. With all of the copycat, mind numbing books out there, this is one series that should continue. Thanks Eric
When your a the Evil God and mortals are being evil, its your job to kill them for those whom you love and the peoples of the kingdom. Another fun read!
This is probably one of the best of the series and adds several new potential allies. In addition to his minions the Master meets four other gods with the same goal as his own. We also learn more about his past and why he’s angry with the others in heaven.
