This is such an interesting story, one that the author refers to as Australia's only political assassination. While it is an interesting story about the widespread corruption surrounding Mackay's murder, the book is written so badly that it's difficult to follow the storyline, the characters, and the timeline. The author jumps from different dates in the same story giving a confusing account of before and after events and people's actions. Maybe if I re-read this book a few confusing facts would become clear but I think I'll give it a miss. There has to be better books on the subject and this book tweaked my curiosity enough to get me looking for them.
