Where to start. I wouldn’t call this an 18+ read. More like a 15+. A mature audience warning, rather than being rated R. I’ve read darker battle scenes and stronger sexual themes in YA. It’s the baby murder in the prologue, that gives it the MA15+ warning from me.

I’m going to have to address it straight up. I found the Prologue destressing and would have stopped reading the book had it not been that I was part of this blog tour. I am glad I kept reading because overall, I did end up being enter

Sealer's Game is the first book in a new fantasy romance series by Kathy Coleman. It has a taste of Greek Mythology to it's dynamics, but it is a world all it's own. Apparently there are Sealer's who are very similar to Gods with powers. Depending on whether they are dark or light, determines the dominion they rule over. About two thousand years prior to the events of the book, a Sealer, Ruby, gives birth to a baby whose father is of the dark. She then decides she must murder her child. Before s ...more

Legends claimed there had been a quarrel between the Gods of the living and the Lord of death long ago. Having any knowledge about the Court of the Dead was generally frowned upon. Carita knew more than a moon maiden should. That she had been given no choice in obtaining the knowledge wouldn’t matter if the truth was revealed here.

Moon Goddess Ruby is the last of her kind and it is dire that she choose a man to father her child. Though it is a serious situation, Ruby plays a manipulative gam

I haven't read a fantasy romance in a while and I really liked this book. Ruby is a Sealer, Moon Godess who lives in another realm, Lucian is also a Sealer, the Lord of Death and resides in the earth realm. However Lucian and Ruby had once been betrothed but then Ruby tries to kill their son. Now there is a prophecy that says if Lucian and Ruby don't have another child the world that Ruby rules may be doomed. However Ruby will never consent to having another child with Lucian and the last person ...more

This is a super interesting fantasy story, with a complex world and characters that have developed personalities. While the blurb contains a detailed description of the plot, there is a lot more to the story than that. There are secrets, games between gods and so much more.

Let me tell you a little bit about the world. It reminds us of the Greek mythology, of a time in which gods were mixing in human affairs, or, better yet, they were mixing humans in their affairs. Here we have something similar

*I received a free copy of this book which I voluntarily chose to write an honest review for.

Talk about some great world building!! It starts on page one dropping into a world of Gods, powers, and plots. Carita is thrown into this world when she is chosen as champion by Ruby. After some training she is tasked with helping hold a competition for the best man to become the father of Ruby's baby. What she doesn't know is that there is a prophecy about the baby which changes things. Lucian must fath

Sealer’s Game is a great fantasy that sucked me into the novel right in the beginning and kept me hooked the whole way through. The world building is the strongest aspect of this novel. With bits of Greek mythology, the world is also strongly unique. I enjoy world building in fantasy novels and Kathy Coleman has written a beautiful world, I could easily see when I was reading.

I think the main characters had some faults that made me a bit disconnected. However, there were several side characters
