Collection of lives, dedications, and cults in short vignettes. The whole project is quite helpful for the lay reader to establish some familiarity, both with the major national saints and with the forms of veneration which promoted them. An additional help which I had not anticipated is a thorough survey of the literature, which can be compiled from each chapter's end notes.
