Pretty good. Needed more sizzle.
I really enjoyed the premise of the story. Holiday time is the perfect time to give to others and that’s what this book is all about.

However, things didn’t quite go so well for me with the story. I really did not connect well with the female lead, Olivia. She was rude and abrupt and acted as if she was owed something just because she ran a nonprofit. While that is a big part of the story, just the way it came off to me was not pleasing.

Many thanks to Mira Books and #NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read this book. What follows is my unbiased review.

It's never too early to read a touching Christmas story that has a focus on kindness and building community and Sheila Roberts has done a great job in this novel set in the community of Pine River.

Livi Berg and her father are still grieving the death of their mother and wife and the non-profit group Christmas From the Heart, is Livi's way of honoring her mother and the wor

If you are a fan of Hallmark Christmas movies than this is the book for you! I can easily see this one as the plot to a movie. Guy turns down a charity donation to Olivia and now her charity can't fulfill their mission to provide Christmas gifts and food to the less fortunate in her small town. And when Guy's flashy car breaks down on the side of the road who should happen to pick him up? This was a clean but predictable holiday romance to get people in the holiday spirit.

I received this book from NetGalley in exchange for my fair and honest review.

I have read several of Sheila Roberts books, and I really enjoyed this one. Olivia runs a charity and Guy has taken over as the CFO of his families business. Sparks fly from the beginning before these two ever meet in person. I found the story well written, and spoke to my heart concerning the vast difference in todays world of the haves and have nots. Can these two people from totally different backgrounds, find a HEA

This is a cute holiday romance. But, I did have a few problems with the story line. #1: in this day and age you do not pick up a stranger from the side of the road-a big no no. #2: then. you do not put the stranger in your car and take him to your house-crazy. #3: you do not leave him in your house alone. This could have made a good murder mystery, lol

When it is hot as heck outside and there is nothing cool to do but reading as everything else makes you end up a sweaty mess, it is the perfect day for a speed reader.

I received a temporary digital Advance Reader Copy of this book from #NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

From the publisher, as I do not repeat the contents or story of books in reviews, I let them do it as they do it better than I do 😸.

Christmas from the Heart has helped so many people in the small town of Pine River, Washington, and Olivia Berg is carrying on the tradition of her mother and her grandmother and great-grandmother. Running a non-profit is difficult at the best of times, but Christmas seems to be the time they all are asking for donations.

This year they are falling short. Times are tough everywhere and this year their major donor must say no.

Guy Hightower is at his wits end with his two older brothers lack of pl

Take a small town, Pine River, add a generous hearted girl, a Scrooge like Corporate rich guy, and a lovestruck country boy and what do you have? Another hit by author Sheila Roberts! This story warmed my heart and got me thinking of Christmas even in this 100 degree weather in Alabama. Olivia Berg is head of a non-profit called Christmas from the Heart. She works all year with small pay trying to raise money to make the holidays a little merrier for the folks in Pine River and surrounding areas ...more

A big collective "Awwwwwww......" This book attempts to answer the age old questions: if a person Really can change and is it just as easy to love a rich man as a humble one? (at least in this particular story's instance)
As the holidays near, our hearts may turn towards charitable donations and such. It would be great if "Christmas from the Heart" was a real nonprofit organization world wide. People could step up and be a bit more like the main character: Olivia. Olivia is generous, caring,

Christmas from the heart was sweet story with the spirit of the festive time of the year, about money issues, trust, hope and righting the wrongs.

Both main characters were sweet but hard on business trying to save their organisations. The one getting corporate family own company back into shape and the other one getting enough funds for non-profit charitable organisation "Christmas from the heart."

When Guy Hightower cut the compensation for Livy Berg's organisation she wasn't happy. She tried t

I'm a big Sheila Roberts' fan and I was a little disappointed in this book. It was a cute holiday romance but I felt it was repetitive in places and the actions of the main character, Olivia, were sometimes annoying in the extreme.

Olivia runs a charity called Christmas from the Heart that depends on corporate donations. She is very disappointed when one of their biggest donors, Hightower Enterprises, is unable to donate and stops returning her calls. She tracks down the CFO, Guy Hightower, and

Livi lives and breathes for the non-profit company she runs. Her grandmother started "Christmas from the heart", then Livi's mother took over and now it's in the hands of Livi.
This year Livi is struggling with getting enough donations. Even their biggest benefactor can't help them this year.

Livi lives a comfortable life not wanting or willing too much for herself. She settles for less even if she dreams of more.

Suddenly a stranger is stranded close to her home due to a car breakdown, and
Christmas from the Heart by Sheila Roberts is a lovely Christmas story, filled with the spirit of giving for the holiday season.

Olivia Berg's family charity, Christmas from the Heart, has done wonderful things in her small town. I always love a good Christmas story and this one certainly fits the bill!

Christmas from the Heart nonprofit needs donations for the holidays and their biggest contributed canceled out this year. Livi was devastated and had to try to make ends meet.

While out she stopped to help a gentleman with car trouble. He had to stay in Pine River till they could fix his car. There was no room at the Inn so Livi had him stay with her and her Dad not knowing who he really was. He managed to help her with the

I think this was a pretty decent take on a modern day scrooge story. You have Olivia who runs a charity Christmas from the Heart, and Guy the CFO of Hightower Enterprises that refuses to donate to her charity even though they always have in the past.

I didn't like how pushy Olivia was in trying to get money, she was outright rude which doesn't really work in the charity world. You also have Guy who feels guilty and may have come around if not for her insults but his business is also struggling.

Christmas from the Heart from Sheila Roberts gives us a mixture of forgiveness, family and new beginnings. Olivia’s nonprofit organization, Christmas from the Heart needs funds for Christmas when her biggest donor has decided that they weren’t giving this year. Guy wanted to reorganize his family corporation and one of the nonprofits he decided to not give to is Christmas from the Heart. What could happen when Guy’s Maserati breaks down outside of Olivia’s town, Olivia picks him up and the only ...more

3.5 stars - I liked the premise of this book but had a hard time connecting to it. At the beginning, when the readers are introduced to the characters, they both came across as judge mental & critical. Olivia seemed like too much of a narrow minded judge person to run a charity. Guy seemed the more likable of the top of them until she criticized him & he got his back up. When Guy was stranded in Pine River, Olivia still had the attitude of what this guy with money would do for her charit ...more

This book reminded me of Lifetime and Hallmark Christmas movies, and that's definitely a good thing! Maybe one day this will be a movie?! Guy Hightower has cut off corporate donations to Olivia's Christmas charity. That's huge for her and now she's going to have a tough time making a happy holiday for families in Pine River. She's got a lot on her mind but she does stop and pick up the guy by the side of the road- his Maserati isn't exactly made for snow, among other things. Funny thing- he turns out to be Guy. This book surprised me so much. Olivia is the CFO of Christmas from the Heart a non profit. Guy Hightower is the CFO of Hightower Enterprises and this year he decided not to donate to Olivia’s charity. As in real life, life happens and Guy finds himself stranded some miles out from the small town that happens to be Pine River where Olivia lives. She also happens to be the beautiful girl that pick up the stranded Guy Hightower. As in any romance you have to build trust and learn how to forgive. H ...more

Her largest contributor has declined and Guy Hightower becomes public enemy number one. Until a car breakdown has Guy and Livi spending time together right before the holidays and they are falling for each other. Except Livi doesn't know Guy's true identity. This is a story about a girl named Olivia who can’t seemed to get passed the fact that Hightower Enterprises won’t give their yearly contribution to her nonprofit called, Christmas from the Heart.
And through a series of events these two people end up together and find out it’s a very merry Christmas.
Olivia got on my nerves and I found myself skimming just to finish. It could of been much better. I think I might stop reading Christmas stories because they just feel like novellas to me.

I loved Christmas from the heart. It had a little but of everything. Livi has a huge heart for helping people and Guy is an overworked CFO trying to keep his family business from going under. When Livi is discouraged with Guy's company for scaling back their donation to Christmas from the Heart she worries they will not have enough to provide for all that are in need. When she picks up a stranger at the side of the road she has no clue who he is and how her life is about to change. Dive in for a ...more

Truly Christmas from the Heart

What a delightful read, once again Sheila Roberts has not only spun a delightful tale, she has also done it such a way that has your emotions going from sad to mad, from laughing to shouting.

Perceptions are just that, perceptions. Whatever frustrations Livi thought she had were nothing to what she was going to face. Problems with her
Christmas charity and two males vying for her attention. One the known, the other unknown.

I like Ms Roberts books and I liked this heartwarming and sweet Christmas story.
It's full of Christmas spirit and it made smile and root for the characters.
Ms Roberts can surely write a book that will keep you hooked and this one was no exception.
I appreciated the well written cast of characters, the lovely setting and the atmosphere.
It made me wish it was already Christmas.
A good reading experience, recommended!

I went into this knowing it would be pretty corny, but it was even a bit too much for me. I didn't really love the story line, and I actually wasn't a huge fan of the characters as well. I felt Olivia was a bit too entitled and a little rude, and Guy sort of bored me. The whole thing just played out like a Hallmark movie and not a particular good one. All in all, it just wasn't my cup of tea.

Touching holiday story with a focus on giving and helping others. In this day and age it's nice to read heartwarming stories. This is the kind of story that would make a good Hallmark movie. I got just as mad as Livi did at the beginning, and I thought Morris was not right for her. I'm glad he changed his mind. Quick read, the kind you curl up on the couch in fall/winter with a fire going.
