Annie used to believe in all that happily ever after crap, until the day she found out her Prince Charming husband was a conman with a wandering eye. On the same day she booted him to the curb, an alien fleet double-parked over Earth and life as she knew it ended. To survive she joined a militia unit and used her unique physic powers to fight off the alien invaders. She was so successful she earned the swell nickname of the Grim Reaper. Now she must fight for her own freedom because Saul Jones, a Coletti-hybrid warlord, has decided she’s his and he won’t stop until he possesses her.

General Saul Jones has his hands full. Not only is he a four-star Marine general, he’s also a Coletti warlord. To complicate matters, he’s the Coletti Overlord’s liaison to Earth and one of the patriarchs of “the” Jones clan. Raising his blood pressure even more is his teenage psychic daughter who has found her mate before she’s of legal age. Can you say raging hormones? Not to mention the headaches of dealing with all the interspecies head-butting and Central Command. He has a million and one things needing his attention and at long last he has discovered the other half of his soul. Annie Russell aka the Grim Reaper. Instead of running into his arms, Annie’s running as far and fast as she can.

I was a 9-1-1 dispatcher for thirty-one years and to keep insanity at bay, I took up writing. Not to worry. The insanity isn’t catching – much. Other than the addiction to chocolate and the twitch in my left eye, I’m good. I just finished, Stilettoes and Gunpowder book #3 in the Gemma Stone series.

Nothing says, 'I love you' and I want to play hard to get to a Coletti Warlord like sic-cing a flock of birds to crap on the guy and assuring him that he'll never catch you as you tear off into the Arizona desert on a dirt bike. General Saul Jones, US Marine General and hybrid Coletti thrills to the chase and know he's met his match in feisty Annie with the incredible psychic powers and a touch of witch magic. Easy and fun, spicy and exciting, each new installment in the Coletti Warlords series are addictive and engaging.

Sassing Saul is the tenth of the Coletti Warlord sci-fi romances. The series works best when read in order as Saul has been a prominent character since the beginning and Annie was introduced in the previous book. The worldbuilding and current plot grows through the series and these later books assume the reader has read the series in order.

So, yes, our handsome silver fox General Saul, head of the wild and rambunctious Jones clan all gifted psychics and the best defense earth has against alien invaders with a taste for the flesh of earthlings. He along with the other earth leaders has allied with the Coletti- a race of warring and pillaging warlords who got themselves into a bit of difficulty when their conquering, marauding ways landed them with a war torn world and a dying race if they can't find compatible females. Enter stage left the Jones clan.

Saul and the other Jones have sacrificed being completely human to keep their planet and people safe, but now it is Saul's turn to find some happiness in it all- if he can get the sassy, wary Annie to give love one more chance. Unlike the Coletti, he understands full well that earth women will resist being tossed over a guy's shoulder and hauled off as his. He wants the infernal woman to want him back so courtship is in order. If only the Earth First psychos and the Rodan would stop attacking and plotting long enough for him to have a nice dinner, a dance, or a walk on the beach with the gorgeous woman.

Annie has been courted and wooed once in her life already. She gave the wrong guy her heart and he cleaned out all her money, cheated on her with an old widow, and later tried to turn her in for bounty on psychic women. Never again, she insists. She tossed aside the rose-colored glasses and went to war against the alien invaders earning the nick name Grim Reaper for her kill count. Now, here she is again being chased by a determined male. After a while, she wonders if he might just be different and worth being caught.

Saul and Annie's story was full of the usual madcap fun and excitement of sexy flirting during the chase, action-packed fights with the alien enemy and humans who are little more than traitors and terrorists against their own race, and an overall good time. There was lots of time with previous couples- the girls night outs were the best- and my favorite scary alien, Adan, ready to eat the bad guys or out draw them on the street of Old Tuscon, whatever comes first.

These always read fast and fun for me. Definitely a guilty pleasure and one of my most anticipated reads of the year. Those who enjoy zany and spicy fun in their sci-fi romance should definitely give this series a go.

Side note: The first two books are out of print, but readers will have no trouble beginning with Vexing Voss and going forward from there.

My thanks to the author for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review.

I love that there's another woman, besides someone from the Jones clan, that can stand up to these Coletti warlords. I love Annie.

Sassing Saul is the tenth book in the Coletti Warlords series, and whilst I don't think it completely necessary to have read all of the previous books, it would probably help.

This book is a quick and easy read with plenty of action. Not all aliens are good guys, and Annie is involved in fighting the bad guys as much as she can. With her psychic powers, she is very good at what she does and gets herself a reputation as the Grim Reaper. Unfortunately, this allows her husband to track her down and try to sell her. She makes her escape and finds her way to a different town, where she gets a new job. This has the knock-on effect of bringing her to General Saul Jones' attention.

Now, this is where it lost me. Saul and Annie spend most of the book apart, and he insists on treating her like a defenceless female when he knows first-hand just how capable she is. There was no attraction between them either before or after the mind-wipe (which I didn't like at all.) A lot of new (to me) characters are introduced to Annie in quick succession and she immediately has an amazing bond with all of them. This was okay, but it all happened so quickly that I was unable to fully 'get to know' these new females before the action kicked off again. This is where reading the previous books would help!

All in all, it was a good read that kept my attention throughout. I have no hesitation in recommending it, but I would also go to the next step and say to start from the very beginning of the series, as I think this will only help with your enjoyment.

* A copy of this book was provided to me with no requirements for a review. I voluntarily read this book, and the comments here are my honest opinion. *

Always a fun time with the Coletti!

What I love the most about these books is the lighthearted tone and undercurrent of straight-up fun that is spread throughout. It's like Annie and the rest of the ladies are on level 100 and their enemies are on level 6, so there's an almost invincible, "no worries, we got this" vibe, and it makes for some funny situations!

Annie was coming off of some tough times, but when life chewed her up and spit her out, it made her tough as nails. She was definitely someone you did not want to mess with. But Saul tried. Boy, did he try. But he learned quickly that Annie was not some shrinking violet he could command and expect her to listen. That, too, made for some funny situations.

I enjoyed catching up with characters I met in previous books, specifically Casey and Hothar, and I hope to revisit Saul and Annie to see how they are doing in the next book!

(I was given this book in consideration of my honest thoughts)

Great story mixed with great characters. Action and adventure packed into great storytelling. Every time I read any part of this series I'm drawn into it's universe again , I'm saddened when the book ends and I have to leave. Can't wait to visit again.

Book 10

Choose 5 stars because i have thoroughly enjoyed this series, but this book lost some of the enthusiasm of the others. The plot and characters was ok but i couldn't get behind the overall story. I hope we have another in the future. Well done

Fun Action Filled Series

The books never let me down. Sarcastic kick butt heroines and uber manly Coletti warlords. But what I love the most is the women are the heroes in these books with the men trying to keep up and providing awesome support. And the humour, oh my the humour. So funny. I am so glad Adam played a role in this book. I really am intrigued by his character.

Finally Saul's turn

Great addition to Coletti's series! Lived Annie and Saul.
The usual hijinx abound in this edition, and the bad guys quickly learn not to mess with the Grim Reaper! 4.5 stars, .5 for typos and missing words.

Sassing Saul is the latest book in Gail Koger's Coletti Warlords series! I have loved reading each and every book in this series, and always look forward to the next one! Just like the other books, Sassing Saul, has a "little bit of everything"........uproarious humor, sexy hot alpha males(even if they're aliens)😏, feisty, strong minded and strong willed kick ass females who give these males a run for their money(to make things allot more interesting )😉, adventure, interesting characters and of course, the best one of all...........fan yourself HOT,Passionate Kisses and not just physical sex (scenes) , but mind sex ones as well! Oh MY!!!! 😍 In Sassing Saul General Saul Jones encounters Annie, who may not be a Jones female, but is a powerful Psychic with some unusual powers. He gives her an order, "and" of course, it's an order she just absolutely has to refuse!! 😏 So she runs trying to evade being captured by him. Now, you need to read this book to find out what happens, and when you do, "fasten" your seatbelt!! It's going to be an incredible ride.......and read!!!

Loved Saul and Annie
General Saul Jones, the patriarch of the Jones family and hybrid Coletti Warlord, is Zarek's right hand on Earth. He has found his mate. A powerful women the last of her line of Scottish witches. She has been right under his nose for years.
Annie Russell, has an MBA and was a successful business women. When her beloved maternal grandmother became ill she walked away to care for her. After her death she thought she found love, only to be betrayed. Then the invasion happened and she put her pent up anger into killing the Tia-Kok and Rodan. She found a job at a wild west show and tried to stay under the Coletti's radar. Young Casey Jones, aka Annie Oakley, figured it out, but kept her secret. Now she has been found and Saul Jones has staked his claim
When Saul finally catches up to his very resourceful mate, he is as furious as he is proud. Casey gave him her back story and he is up to the challenge of wooing his mate. So a resort vacation is planned. Zarek and Detja, and Casey and Hothar are joining them. Annie is having trouble letting go of the past to see a future, so Zarek mucks around in her head, and gives her the peace she needs. When duty calls the women are left behind. Detja plans a ladies night, Kaylee joining in. The Jones female curse follows them where ever the go.
Kidnapping.
Street Fight.
Dragging Shrek to Vegas.
Fun fast paced and steamy. Great Alien invasion series. Hoping the rest of the Jones men Ethan, Caleb and Jake and maybe Uncle Derek get a story.

Gail is one of the very few authors on my auto-buy list and she has never yet disappointed. This story is no exception. It's based on earth so it's not quite as over-the-top, balls-to-the-wall, non-stop action as some of the others in this series but I enjoyed reading Uncle Saul's story and I adored Annie. She is a fine match and a true mate for Saul.

It was great catching up with some of the characters from previous books. I gobbled this story up and am already impatiently waiting for the next one. I tell myself that I shouldn't read these books so quickly but that is what re-reads are for. lol

One thing really bothered me about this story though. The "You're the woman and you must stay behind while we men do all the fighting" when all the women are warriors in their own right. It's getting old and it was even worse in this book.

You will probably enjoy the story more if you read some of the other books first, but there is enough explaining at the start of the book that you should be OK. I highly recommend this series and the first books like "Vexing Voss" are some of my favorite 'alien' books. I have spent many happy hours with Gail.

Laugh out loud funny! Gail Koger has done it again. She has delivered another rip roaring Coletti Warlord story. Annie is so much like the Jones women she fits right in with them. Her attempts to run from Saul are reminiscent of all the Jones girls flights from their Coletti mates, and are hysterical. Love Love Love this series!
Come on Ms Gail; get busy writing the next Coletti Warlord book.
I am waiting for it!

Annie is definitely sassing Saul!

Annie Russell has had it with men after her husband Hell Smith spent $70,000 of her in heritance and slept with the eighty-five year old next door neighbor. She kicked him out to hopefully never see Hell Smith again. Annie used her talents to protect Arizona until she met General Saul Jones and he figure out that she was psychic and he was her mate that she didn’t want.

I enjoy reading any of the Coletti Warlord stories because not many science fiction romances are funny with all the situations they get into.

Annie got her gun & then some,LOL!

Definitely 18+
The Coletti hits just keep on coming in this series. I liked that the hero and heroine were older in this book but were still sexy. As with all of Gail Koger's books the humor was awesome and had me laughing out loud.
Can't wait for the next book in the series!

Wow

You've done it again. Once I started to read it I couldn't put it down. Annie is so funny but she carries a lot of heart ache. I'm not going to give away the story as that is not fair to the reader or author. A amazing story and laughs the character's are brilliant well written. Would definitely recommend this book to anyone a brilliant read.

Somehow I forgot to read this one when it came out. Unheard of for me.

Another glorious romp with a Jones, this time General Saul Jones, who comes across Annie, and knows she is destined to be his. Of course, she isn't as on board with this notion hehehehe.

Humans first continue to be a problem with the occasional appearance of the Rodan, who think humans are tasty.

Lots of friends pop in for cameos and Zarek & Detja play important roles, as always. Detja shouldn't be allowed to plan weddings!

Disappointing

I love the storyline but the repetitive onomatopoeic phrases such as kablooey, and snikt & Schlick are annoying.
Ms Koger uses the same phrases for all her characters which is very unrealistic.
Please try and use different words in your novels Ms Koger.
I do enjoy the snark, but not some of the same, repetitive dialogue.

Sassing Saul

Annie is a 37 year old woman with a deserved nickname of "The Reaper" and she is a siren and a witch. She has kept her psychic powers under the radar with help of the military she worked with. Then she met Casey Jones and chaos ensued including General Jones.
