War is brewing in the hood. VOORHEEZE is raging after the death of his big homie, T’RIDA, and with blood in his eyes and pain in his heart, it’s time to paint the streets blood red! CLARKOLA is called to step up to a position of leadership that he eagerly has awaited. Now, he's primed to take control of East Palo Alto.
Meanwhile, a new team of young beasts, Y.N.M, is emerging and they're as lethal as death. SUTTON, their leader, has decided to take NEVA DIE to war. He and his team of young hyenas will test Neva Die like never before. When the smoke clears, who will be left standing?
While the street drama builds to a crescendo, Voorheeze has a new agenda. He’s declared war on the Milpitas Police Department for the death of T’Rida. In this bloody and all-out battle for vengeance and supremacy, who will emerge as the unchallenged GORILLAZ IN THE BAY? Whose lives will get snuffed out? How many families will shed tears before the final bullet is fired?
De'Kari is a promising author whose work is nothing short of amazing. De’Kari’s work provides readers with an authentic glimpse into street life. He currently writes urban fiction but plans to cross over to other genres.
The author was born and raised in Northern California. The author experienced a challenging childhood. Riddled with abuse, neglect and witnessing violence first-hand. His early years were dark and pained due to the dysfunction that surrounded him. He was often uprooted and moved from place to place. After various placements with relatives, he found himself in foster care. He eventually turned to the streets which consequently led to a lot of bad choices. In turn those bad choices led to youth authority, jail & prison.
There is more to this author than the street-life. He always had a love for writing. In school he excelled in creative writing. He would always live-out the story as he was writing. Through his most difficult times, he used writing as a way to escape from his surroundings.
In additional to writing, he creates poetry, writes songs and does artwork. He loves spending time with family, fishing, sports and helping youth.
He is happy that he is finally able to share his writing with others, putting his passion to work!
Great book! Author De'Kari you did it again, another great book. As a new author you are on fire. Keep up the good work. I haven't always been a fan of urban fiction but when reading your books I feel like I am watching a movie with lots of action and much more...
Again the author hit us with the gritty side of gang life beyond the "money, cars, clothes and hoes". The story and characters were developed. The pace moved quickly. There was some type of action at every turn. The author did a good job of pulling me into each scene with his attention to detail when it came to describing the characters and scenes.
As far as some of the technical aspects there were issues with sentence flow, missing punctuation and at least one scene that appeared inconsistent with what we were told only a few sentences prior. All in all, this was a solid read and I enjoyed it. My score, 3.5 stars is due to the issues with the flow and structure. I looked forward to what I assume will be the final book to wrap things up. Hands down this is some of the best Street Lit I’ve read in a long time! I gotta say this book was even better than the first one! This is a series that I can see being played out in a movie! Not only is the storyline well developed but its attention grabbing as well! Great job once again De’Kari.
I love the cover of the book! Ok De'kari you did it again. I was hesitant about this book being as good as the first because T'Rida was all that. I didn't want him to die but he went out like a boss. I didn't think you could bring the other characters to life as well as you did T'Rida. But you proved me wrong. Voorheeze, French Tip, Clark, Levell, the twins, Tut, too many to mention, they were all interesting. I love how everything came together. You had some big time shockers in this book. Things I didn't see coming. You are a very creative writer. You had the word count up there too. Officer Hedgecock, for some reason I can't stop laughing at that name. You didn't disappoint with my favorite scenes either. 😂. Don't have me waiting forever for the next book. I will be messaging you bugging you. I think I know something and I need that next book to see if I'm right.
I have searching trying to find the words on just how good this story really is and just how well excuted. The writer bring us right back to the action and doesn't pause so you can catch your breath. I have to say again that I love me some Jason. This is the man, A thinker, fixer, doer and a person who loves hard. Now I have few things to say about this momma of his,but I'll keep quiet. Really heifer!.I mean you go and do your own thing and leave him to predators in his on family. Now I want to know during all this where the neck is Gunz.. Also Danika ,girl get some steel. Also when my man gone catch a break to breath.Looking for the next episode and I'm sure its going to rock like this one!
Lawd author, you done took my soul yet again. 1st T’Rida and now Jason. But I’m really confused about, Lisa and Danika, are they real? Is Clark really dead? Did Jason get shot twice, once at Anne funeral and then Clark funeral? I guess I have to read book 3 to find out. I really don’t want to bc I’m tired of losing and crying over the characters I like. I felt Jason pain when his mother said those ugly things to him. She broke his heart and mines too.
Oh my... that ending can't be. Did this author really do this to me? I won't give the story away, but I will say this was definitely another banger by this author. I can't believe I read this book so slow becuz I didn't want to miss anything. Now I need the 3rd book to find out what happened.
Man i hated Clark n Anne got killed, but was mad tht their mom blamed Jason. Sutton finally got his just due after all he killed his sister bc he wanted to be king of the streets. I can"t wait too read part 3 to what's nxt for the crew n if Jason dies ir not
I can't express how good this one was. Every page was one exciting turn after the next. Then Young Mafia Niggars were not to be underestimated, they were just as ruthless and calculated. Anticipating part 3 since 2 was as good as part 1.
This book is a beast. When I tell you just when you think you know how it will play out boom a twist. I highly recommend this book. Can't wait to read part 3
Book 2 of the series Gorillaz in the Bay was just as good as book 1 of the series!!! It's like a continuous story!!! De'Kari is an excellent author that never disappoints me!!!
