This is the 1st book I read by Donna Doyle. I liked the food mentioned in the story 📖, it sounded delicious 😋. I'm sorry the rest of the story 📖 didn't interest me.
A lovely written Christmas mystery with Sammy Baker in the middle of it all ,but this time she has three feisty and vibrant caracters drawing her in. The radical grammas has lost a member to murder and want the bakers help in thier cause , and help the baker gives. Now I've finished reading "Christmas Puds and Killers "I'ts your turn to aquier a copy and start enjoying this short read as much as I have. 🙄☺ Kat
A woman is murdered, the pudding-baking sleuth interviews some people, concludes whodunit and goes to tell the sheriff. The police apparently haven't done much investigating themselves. The ending accuse-and-reveal scene is quite unrealistic, the final twist something the reader can't guess beforehand. I did like that it was a clean read with decent characters, but a bit more mystery and drama would have spiced it up.
Little did Sammy Baker know that providing cakes and learning to make Christmas puddings for a fund raiser was going to lead to being a murder investigator. This short clean read is a wonderful cozy mystery and a fun read complete with energetic grandmas cheering Sammy on, a skeptical policeman, and a marvelous cast of small town characters. Recommended for a little Christmas spirit pick me up.
This wasn’t a long story, but was just long enough and not overly drawn out like some books. There is a character for every reader! I loved the different person, ages, and mindsets incorporated into the story. God is center stage, without over doing it. The characters rely on their faith in God, and are real, down to earth people.
Who killed Maureen? That is the question! Donna Doyle introduces all the suspects, and then leads us on a journey to decide who the murderer could be and why. Sammy, Helen and the Radical Grandmothers work together to solve this mystery. Read this book and discover who did it! Happy reading! 😊
A short story that haved little of everything... laugh, drama, mystery, problems and solutions. A story in which you can feel part of the main character. The best thing is a clean and faithful centered. Thanks Donna Doyle. God bless you. 🙌
I have enjoyed reading Donna Doyle's books! Such a great writer. She grabs your attention at the 1st chapter and you have a hard time putting it down!! Love how she weaves in spiritual moments!
Cute quick read. Didn’t realize it was a Christian series but luckily I’m not being beat over the head with it. The characters are sweet and I love them. The story is entertaining. I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
I really like this series. I only gave it a 4 star instead of a 5 because I feel like it could have been a little longer than 80 pages long. I was going to binge read the entire series, but then I decided to read another few books from other series' that I began reading already, such as books from Wendy Meadows, Mildred Abbott, and Tee O'Fallon. However, as soon as I finish these books, I'll return to the Donna Doyle series Baker's Dozen Cozy Mysteries and finish the remainder of them. Good reading!
A delightful quick Christmas read with intriguing characters. This is my first book of the series and I can’t wait to read more. Mystery, murder and yummy desserts!
Definitely not a great series. There a strong bible-bashing theme throughout the book and the character development and story are not strong. I'll be abandoning this series.
Third installment of the Christian Cozy Mysteries: Bakers Dozen series. Very tame in language and action. Characters from the other books appear but overall can be read as a standalone.
Frustrated. Author did excellent job of explaining whodunit, but just sorta explained why. And there is NO explanation AT ALL about HOW! This is third one i’ve read. I truly enjoyed the others, but i am stymied here. Did i miss something? Please send me message if you remember reading this one.
