I needed a job, and he had a special position just for me... Man seeking woman; the job description was vague, but money was all I really needed. On the verge of losing everything, I decided to take a chance and respond to the ad. Turned out the man on the other end of the phone was August Burke, New York City's hottest bachelor. Tall, muscular, dripping in sex appeal, his voice made your thighs tremble and your heart race. Most women would kill for one night with this man. Except, what he wanted from me was way more than any man should ever ask for, and I'm not that desperate. But, he won't take no for an answer. He decided he wanted something, and that something was me. His offer could fix all my problems, it could erase the weight I'm carrying on my shoulders. Only, I'm not the type of girl who will do anything for money... Am I? See how far this billionaire heartthrob will go to keep what's his. A girl struggling to make ends meet, a man who has the power to change it all, and the one request that brings these two opposites together. This is a full length novel, with a guaranteed HEA.
August and Ella’s relationship developed so fast. One minute she had serious doubts of accepting his proposal and the next she was so eager to have his baby!!! There was no emotional exchange, August’s friends were nonexistent and the couple didn’t even go out. What happened to, Ella’s friend, Kayla? Did she stay with Justin or moved on? August proposed to Ella, but there was no story of their marriage.
When I saw that this was 490 pages, I was a bit intimidated. We’ve all read books that have dragged on and on. But I was completely surprised when I reached the end. I had been captivated beginning to end. August finds out that his late father had put a clause in his will that he must have a child by age 35 or loose his inheritance. He knows he doesn’t want any of the gold diggers he dated in the past, so puts a very vague ad in the paper. Ella came to NYC to teach music at Julliard, but can’t even get a part time job as a substitute. Despite the final notices piling up, she flips out when she hears what August wants to hire her for. But she finds herself out of options when she’s handed an eviction notice. August and Ella are immediately attracted to each other, but not only do they have to get to know each other, Ella has to learn to navigate the rich world, August’s snooty mother, and the press. I felt completely satisfied when they reached their HEA, (and when August dealt with a nasty side character!)
3.5 stars most of my like comes from August. He was born and raised rich but he was so down to earth. After meeting his mother, it's a miracle he was such a great guy. It was mentioned that she was not around much after the divorce from his father. It appeared August was more laid back than Ella. The story was good. The plot was a little rushed. It might have been better if the story was a little longer. Ella went from thinking August was crazy to can't keep her hands off him overnight. The relationship was sweet and I loved the playfulness between them. They fell in love fast but just didn't realize it until the end. For a short story, there were a couple of outside things that didn't fit. Why did we get the half story with Kayla and Justin? The ending was kind of abrupt. We get a quick hint of August's mom and Kayla. I love that we got to see Ella;s dream come true.

A light hearted read from one of my favourite authors is always welcome and this one certainly had me laughing out loud with the sassy, sarky quips from the great character of Ella, so down to earth, it was so refreshing! A quick read that you will not want to miss and that I can recommend as the perfect story. The sexy August Burke shocks Ella with his offer of a golden opportunity for her, will and can she bring herself to accept his contract? She’s in debt up to her eye balls and desperate but her aspirations of being a full time music teacher are slim at best. Will Ella be a good fit for what August wants and how can he convince her? I know if it had been me with this opportunity in front of me I would definitely think twice after meeting his mother! I laughed so hard when Mr Pink scratched August’s unmentionables 😂. Can this fake business opportunity be what they both need? I voluntarily reviewed this book after receiving a free copy

So we have an opposites attract scenario in this book, as you have guess this was a story of a man place an add for a woman since he needs to do this fairly quickly and now we have our story... It had its funny side and of course steamy side and sometimes they were annoying and the story sometimes just left you wondering but all in all fairly enjoyable.

This is one heck of book. The characters are amazing and the storyline had such a smooth flowing plot with enough chemistry between the couple that could start a Forrest fire. I was entertained from start to finish.

Man Seeking Woman by Leah Holt is perfectly refreshing ! I'm typically a dark romance reader, but I really needed something light and fun and this book fit the bill. I read it all in one sitting - I just couldn't put it down. Do yourself a favor and treat yourself with this one!!

August saw his father’s last will and he couldn’t believe in the fine print. August knew his father and he couldn’t believe what he had put in his will. August would have to fulfill his last request as stipulated in his will. Ella is sitting in her apartment with all her bills on the counter bills she could not pay. Her friend comes over to cry on Ella’s shoulder about her boyfriend. Kayla tells her to look in the paper when her friend sees the ad that August posted. Ella was really thinking about calling the number but Kayla was trying to talk her out of it. Ella called August to find out about the job he was really sketchy about what the job would entail but he told her he wanted to meet her for dinner. Ella goes over to tell Kayla and to borrow a dress and shoes. August and Ella meet for dinner and he had to tell her what was going since she was getting ready to leave. Ella’s decision to take August up on his offer. Ella moves in with August so it looks like they are really together. August takes Ella to meet his mother and he told Ella his mother was a piece of work. Ella was starting to feel a little apprehensive with all that was going on. She kept reminding herself that this was a contract. Ella and August were getting into a rhythm and it started to feel like a relationship. Everything was okay until Ella opens the paper and saw the pictures. Will she leave without so much as a note. Will she stay and have it out with August. Did his mother set everything up for them to fail? Do they have a chance for a Happy Ending.
4 Stars Review by Elizabeth Late Night Reviewer Up All Night w/ Books Blog
I am all for books about arranged relationships so, Man Seeking Woman by Leah Holt is right up my alley. If you love books about arranged relationships, dig in.
First, we meet August in the Prologue and we are not told why he is acting the way he is acting. Then we meet Ella who is just trying to get by living in New York. When Ella’s best friend tells her about an ad in the paper she goes with her gut and answers it. Was it worth it?
While I liked Man Seeking Woman it was fast-paced. I felt like it could have been paced a bit slower so they could have gotten to know one another a bit better. I get that they were on a time crunch but still in some parts it felt forced. I also did not like that there were more mentions and interactions with August’s mother than with Ella’s mother. There were also questions left unanswered when the booked ended that left me wondering if I skipped something.
Overall, it was a quick read and it held my attention. While there were some things I did not like, I enjoyed reading Man Seeking Woman.

I just love Leah Holt's books! "Man Seeking Woman" opens with August in an attorney's office reading a will and being outraged. Something in the wording had him questioning everything he knew, everything the attorney had done, and every decision made by his father. We find Ella in her New York City apartment lamenting over a previous conversation with her mother. About how once she graduated from college she should stay in their little Rhode Island town, teach school there and once she had her credentials in line, then move to New York. But Ella just knew she was going to be contacted by Julliard School of Arts to become one of their Music Teachers. It hasn't happened and now she was being contacted by every creditor she owed for payment on a past due bill. This was such a fun, light hearted read. It had it's moments of angst and drama, but the story flowed in such a way with characters and sub-characters you couldn't help but fall in love with. There were parts, especially the first night they spent together that I laughed til I had tears. This is just one that leaves you with all the feels. You definitely want to read this one.
Not gonna lie...the whole "breeding/baby" thing kinda pisses me off quite often. Especially this one - the hero has to have a baby to keep his inheritance...so he puts out an ad. "Have my baby!! Cash!"
This pisses me off because these books make having a baby sound like...a quick trip to the supermarket: BABIES: Aisle 3.
Having a baby is - while natural - dangerous as all hell! In addition to that...it takes 10 months for those suckers to percolate AND the woman's body goes through all sorts of incredible, some what dangerous and occasionally permanent changes both physical and hormonal.
It's not the sort of thing people are just hoping to do for a stranger and a payday. Yeah, I get it...surrogates are a thing and somehow Romance writers have romanced this idea full hog. Guess what: surrogates are not a walk in the park, either. That shit cost a lot of money + health care + (and here's the kicker) the surraogate can decide Nope! I'm keeping this one. Move along, people. It doesn't happen all the time...but it does happen. So. Not a topic to make a romance.
the book cover totally pulled me in, I am not sure if I have read anything Leah Holt before or not? I am leaning on the NOT reading as of yet ... 'til I grabbed up this read, wait ... i didn't realize I have read a book, wonder if i have read more? i get confused these authors have such similar names, oopies!! ... OH MY GOODNESS ... such a great read. I didn't want it to end. I must say I had to remind myself that August was a person, I have met an October in real life ...his nickname was Toby. but it can get confusing with these odd folks names to be sure you are realizing it is a person. Am I the only one there??! I am kind of curious but kind of concerned over Kayla, Justin (hope I have the right name?) and Fran (August's mother, the woman needs some real life teaching, for reals, LOL!)? Wait 'til you read about Mr. Pink ... giggles!! i love it when a cover, that book cover is so right ... some times it is smart to listen to your existences. so awesome!! must read. LOVED IT! I have curious if this truly has ever happened in real life? the point of the book I mean??! I wanna know???!
OMG! I love, love, loved this book. This book is fun, romantic, not without obstacles, two people from different walks of life coming together for the greater good. August has been thrown a curve ball when he finds out his father’s will has stipulations that need to be fulfilled by the time he turns 35 or he loses everything he’s worked so hard for. Ella has been trying to make ends meet as a teacher and coming up short, as in really short as in her time is running out as the bills pile up and rents due, which she has no money for any of it. Desperate times call for desperate measures and for these two, they will do almost anything, and when Ella answers August’s ad in the paper neither one of them knew how much their lives would change from that moment on. This story was good, it’s so hard not to keep going and give it all away, but no spoilers from me, you have to grab this book, you will absolutely be consumed with August and Ella you won’t be able to put this down. I reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.
August Burke is reeling after receiving news in his late father's will. Now he is on a mission to keep everything he rightly deserves, but to meet the requirements he first needs to find the right woman. Ella came to NY hoping to fulfill her dreams however so far all she has done is crash and burn. On her last leg she reads a want ad and feeling she has no other choice decides to call. August and Ella definitely do bot have a good first meeting, but sometimes life throws people together and fate decides when and how. These two are from complete different worlds yet they make it work and soon their business arrangement becomes more real and feelings become stronger. A meddling mom and some insecurities threaten to get in the way, but they fight through it all and get their hea on the end. This book was sweet and steamy. It does however jump around a little bit and I feel like things were skipped over and time lapsed without any really flow. Overall it was a good book and it kept me riveted.

Enjoyable, funny, a captivating read ….. This was a quite different book but Leah Holt and was a very funny and contained read which I thoroughly enjoyed and would recommend to other readers that wanted to be enticed by something just a little different. Ella had a huge weight of responsibility on her shoulders and only wanted to do the right thing, August was in a different boat all together a rich as they come with a reputation that was well known, although not necessarily truthful as word of mouth is so often over zealous in tit’s story telling. There was a very good sense of humour in the writing of this book and I found myself laughing out loud on several occasions, the plot was well written and both the main characters scenarios had been well thought out and was a very pleasant read. I voluntarily received and reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy I thoroughly enjoyed the book and look forward to reading any future publications; keep up all the great writing.
August Burke is a man of great wealth, a fabulous New York penthouse, beautiful women on his arm and heir to the Burke Brewery. He is also a man with a huge problem. A change to his father’s will requires him to become a father before the age of thirty-five if he expects to inherit the brewery.
Ella Day moved to New York to pursue her dream of teaching at at Juilliard. She has spent the last year looking for any kind of steady work as a teacher but rent, school loans, every day living expenses and competition for limited jobs, even as a substitute, have taken their toll. An evening of wine drinking with her best friend, subsequent firing from her substitute job the next morning and financial desperation move her to answer the small add in the local paper. MAN SEEKING WOMAN.
What a great book, the first novel I’ve read by Leah Holt and it won’t be the last! I received an ARC of this book for an honest review.
Instead of an over the top alpha male trying to use and dominate a simple girl for his purpose, this turned out to be a sweet over the top romance with a fairytale ending. The whole “must have baby or lose inheritance” plot has been used again and again, making it a genre of sorts. This one was well written with very good POVs that enhanced the storyline. I liked August and his non malicious character. Always the gentleman, especially with his hate filled mother who he remains respectful to in spite of her vicious tongue. Ella was also quite loving and respectful of Kayla and her decision to stay with her verbal and emotionally abusive boyfriend, Justin. In fact, this couple was full of sweetness and love from start to finish, it just took a bit for them to admit it to each other.

This book made compulsive reading, the chemistry between Ella and August addictive. by sewsummore Ella was broke and about to be kicked out of her apartment when she answered August's advertisement for a woman. In order to keep his inheritance his father's will stipulated that he had to father a child or loose the lot. Determined to win, August begun searching for the right woman to bear his child. When he first saw Ella he knew he had found that woman. Their attraction to each other was there from the beginning and by the time she was pregnant he knew that he loved her and would tell her when the time was right. This book made compulsive reading, the chemistry between Ella and August addictive. The characters came to life the further into the book I read and have no hesitation in recommending this book. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and have voluntarily read and honestly reviewed this book.
You know what would have made this story about August & Ella interesting???
An ending that you didn’t see coming A MILE OFF! But... I guess the title kinda tells you what kind of book your getting.
Off course Ella was going to except August offer to have his baby, otherwise...no story! And Of course she was going to sleep with him/ have sex with him instead insemination because once again NO STORY! And Of course they were going to get close, share personal experiences and fall in luuuve ....once again ...yep you guessed it ...no story. And Of course it was going to have the ever predictable epilogue happy wrap up ending.... Yawn
What surprised ME was the record speed in which Ella went from shy, timid to out right sex crazy. Yeah, little bit of a slow burn in the beginning but after that things went from 0 to 100 pretty quick. This book it typical romance entertainment. Only 27 chapters, quick read .No big surprises here kinda book three stars
I loved this story. I can’t imagine a wealthy man would find success putting an add in a paper. Seems there would be a lot of unwanted attention because of that, but it was still sweet that August and Ella find each other. They were both really likeable characters and their chemistry was off the charts. Now, Ella’s friend, Kayla I could have done without. I couldn’t stand her continuous tolerance of her idiot boyfriend. I don’t know anyone who would put up with the things he would say. He had no redeeming qualities. Ella tried to be supportive but Kayla just shrugs and ignores the constant verbal abuse. So ridiculous. That little side drama just frustrated me. But I looked past all that to focus on Ella and August, who were completely love-able. I loved the premise of the story so I gave it 4 stars!!.
I have to say, it took me awhile to read this and it wasn’t the fault of the book, a girl just has to work! Still, it was very easy to get back into the story.
The contract baby trope isn’t one of my favorites, but I do enjoy when they play off other tropes. This one had Cinderella and friends to lovers. I think while Ella & August did get down to the business right away, a friendship did blossom and August did become her savior. Enabling her to still be self sustaining (oh man, I just love that) and give her just enough of his lifestyle without pushing it onto her.
Ella does have her doubts, but I like that she opened August up to new opportunities. Perhaps he realized with all his privilege, he still managed to live a limiting life. Maybe Ella opened a few doors for him? Something more than just a baby.
From the girl who usually gives us dark reads, we now get an awwwwww story. Man Seeming Woman is a story of a girl who just can’t find her break and a guy who must do what he never dreamed to keep everything he’s even known.
It starts with a simple ad in the paper. When curiosity gets the best of Ella she picks up the phone to inquire about the job. When she agrees to meet Austin in person for a meet and greet it feels more like a date, but she’s desperate, so here she is. When the last feather falls and she finds herself evicted she agrees to Austin’s deal.
Austin can’t believe his luck when he meets Ella. She’s exactly who he’s been looking for and time is running out. He’s been working his entire life to make the family business bloom. His only obstacle now? He must have an heir to keep it.
I am usually not one for billionaire romances, guess it depends on my mood. But this book wasn’t like your average. This book was hilarious and not pretentious at all!!
A rich man who needs something only a woman can give or he loses everything he is entitled to + A woman who gave up everything to make a life in New York who is now broke and homeless = ONE HELL OF A BOOK!!
It was crazy the instant lust these two had but super believable. Shit I felt it instantly. This book was crazy good because not only was it sexy but laugh your ass off funny and beautiful and just what every girl wants.
This was a quick, steamy, charming, funny, and perfect book. This is a MUST read!!
**I received this book as an ARC and in return gave my honest review**
Ella is a girl trying to live out her dreams to join Julliard and be part of the orchestra. The only thing she's getting is deeper in debt. August is a man on a mission to get all the things coming to him after his father passes away. One small catch in the will, August must have a child before his 35th birthday. After placing an ad in the paper, August basically gives up finding someone. Ella is so desperate for help, she answers the ad. One thing leads to another and soon Ella is pregnant with August's child. Problem is there might be more to their situation than either had anticipated, August's overbearing mother, Ella's best friend and the future Ella wants for herself.
Super sweet but super hot read! I received this book as an ARC and am giving it my honest review.
August Burke is a successful businessman who can't believe the outrageous clause that his father, Jerrod Burke, has written into his will. Because there is no way around the clause, August takes an ad out in the newspaper "Man seeking a woman". Ella Day is at the end of her rope trying to live the American dream in living in New York City. She has a stack of bills and an eviction notice that prompts her to call about the ad. Even though August and Ella aren't in each other's social circles, can they hope to make this relationship work? Will the clause be able to be fulfilled before August turns 35? I loved this story of two people growing into love for each other even though there are obstacles to jump over. They bring out the best qualities in each other. ❤
I truly enjoyed this book!!! Leah Holt gives us a funny, yet romantic and sweet story that you cant help but fall in love with the characters. August needs to fulfill his dads last request and the one to help do this is Ella. She is in desperate need for money and with August giving her a chance to change her circumstances, how can she say no. Once these two got going however it began to feel more like a relationship than a business arrangement which then leads to feelings and emotions getting involved and it will change the game forever. Definitely would recommend this book to any one who enjoys a well written easy read full of wonderful moments and intrigue.
I absolutely loved how the author wove this story about August and Ella. This is truly a must read for anyone that loves a really great steamy sexy love story. Ella applies for a job and great angry when she misunderstands what August means. August is desperate to have a child but it has to be with the right woman. Ella has maxed out her credit cards and been evicted from her apartment. She has no choice but to agree to the business deal. But things don`t always work out the way you plan, oh yeah and let`s not forget to throw in and interfering mother. Wow really loved this book.
