A very short look at the Days Of Want apocalyptic series. It's hard to tell what the series is going to be like given this one peek at a character's tale.

I picked this up for free from Prolific Works.
It's an introduction story to the author's Days of Want series. In fact, there's a preview chapter from the first book at the end which I didn't feel like reading.
EMP seems like a pretty good theme but I felt it was a bit short on action for my taste. I got bored. Not what I was expecting.

Not bad. The dialogue was a bit stilted and formal, making it come across as unnatural.

This is a great introduction to the world of the Days Of Want Series. Even though this isn’t part of the Days Of Want Series as it does not feature any characters from those books this is set in the same ‘universe’. We get to see the world ending events from another perspective than those of Maddie Langston in Turbulent. This book works well for us fans of the series who wanted to see more as well as a great lead in for those new to TL Payne’s writing. You get a real feel for how the series works and a taste of the author's style. As a standalone story this works perfectly well too as it doesn’t rely on having read any of the other stories nor does it leave you with any cliffhangers. It a very well written fast paced apocalypse short story that gives you an idea of what the series is about. Recommended for new readers as well as fans of the series.

💖💓💙 A very good start to this EMP series !
Erick Wynn is furious.
While he would like to stay with his eight and a half month pregnant wife, he is forced to fly to work.
Just arrived at the airport, there is a complete blackout and soon after there is panic...
Unfortunately the worst is yet to come...
-------------------------
A very good start to this exciting post EMP/post apocalyptic race against time !
We follow Erick's adventures with great interest.
The story is captivating and reads very quickly.
I recommend this prequel.

Did I really pay .99 cents for a short story that took me 10 minutes to read???
I like this author very much and was happy to pay .99 cents to read a short story of his that was the beginning of another book that I very much liked...until I read it. It literally took me 10 minutes to read this. If I had realized that it was so incredibly short, I would not have wasted my time or money. The story itself was ok. Not long enough to really get into it and not long enough to go into many details; more like a summary of a story.

Sudden Chaos
Sci-Fi
T.L. Payne
⭐️⭐️.5
• ᴅɪꜱᴀꜱᴛᴇʀ • ᴘᴀɴɪᴄ • ᴇᴍᴘ •
The writing style at the beginning felt clunky. The sentences were often very short and it read as a list of things that happened or a summary of a report, which made it hard for me to become completely immersed in the plot.
The pacing was quite slow, too. It made me want to skip chapters to get to the more action packed parts.
Sometimes the dialogue felt too formal and stiff. It didn't fit the MMC or the different situations.
I wish there were some more realistic fighting scenes with feasible reactions

Really enjoyed this short novella prequel. An EMP has gone off plunging most of the country into chaos. How will Erick possibly get to his pregnant wife? I liked the suspense without all out violence and gore right away. Some violence but in all honesty understandable given the situation. Will be looking at next book in series. Received novella as a freebie and am voluntarily leaving my honest review .

Awesome EMP Fiction!!
This is awesome EMP fiction with a happily ever after! I can't wait to read the next book! I am intrigued by T. L. Payne's EMP fiction concept and the characters could be nonfiction as well as fiction. A perfect ending to my night (after finishing the book) and now I just hope I don't go into a book depression because this was a literary highlight of my day.

Beginnings
Sudden Chaos is an excellent start to this new series. Erick, stranded at O'Hare International Airport is eager to find his pregnant wife Amy, when the lights go out! Erick does everything in his power to find Any and his newborn. The preview to the series is a delight that will leave the reader wanting to know more. Very good beginning.

I got this book free from the author. It was a short standalone about one of the characters from the series. It tells his story from the start of the EMP and their connection with the other characters. It was good but really short. This character wasn't one of the main so I had to remember when he came into the story. It ended so abruptly, I felt like there couldve been more to it.

Good Start to a New Series
We are introduced to half of the family when a disaster strikes. His concerns, rightly, are to get to the other half. Short, easy read, and enough to engage me and I will look forward to the next book.

Not quite in the same class as Franklin Horton or Angery American, but worth the read. One thing I liked was that the "standoff" scenes didn't take 3 or chapters. A group of trained, combat hardened Marines wouldn't need 4 chapters to put down a group of civilian thugs.

It was well written. Not my usual read, I'm not a massive fan of post apocalyptic EMP but it was good.

Thanks to the author, T. L. Payne for the complimentary copy. Sudden Chaos is a short post apocalyptic EMP survival book.

Novella
Ericke and Amy and baby. Having read all of the days of want, this smaller novella about one of the families, gives incite into a family of survivors in the first days.

The book in itself was great. However, it needed to be finished. So much more could have been written. 3 stars for an unfinished story.

Another apocalypse book, however this one focuses on something else rather than some of the desolation. Was nice to see it being caused by something other than zombies for a change.

It's definitely a short story, it’s very short. It started out good but then slowed down considerably and then stopped. Nothing happens.
