A feel-good, funny second chance romance proves it's never too late for love in the small Texas ranch town of Silverlake.

Firefighter Jake Braddock is used to fixing things, and he's never met a problem he couldn't solve--except for his sweet ex-girlfriend Charlotte Nash.

Charlie Nash has been a big-city girl ever since her family made a clean break from their small town,

Walk Me Home is a heartwarming story that will delight fans of second chance and small town romances. Author duo Liza Kendall made me fall in love with the Braddock family and the town of Silverlake, so much so that when I finished this book I was disappointed I have to wait to read the next one.

I can't believe here I am writing my first review of 2020. Where did 2019 go? I hope for all of you 2020 will be a great year. I get to start out the new year with a new to me author. Or maybe part of a new author. They write jointly and I'm wondering it the Karen Kendall part is an author that I've read and enjoyed for years but haven't heard much in a bit.

We shall see.

I'm not a huge fan of second chance romance but this

I had not read any books by either Liz Maverick or Karen Kendall, but with this team writing together, I will read more. I enjoyed this story about Charlie Nash, her friends and family and her relationship with Jake Braddock. I can hardly wait for the next one.

Charlie and Jake fell in love as teenagers, but her parents were not happy with the relationship. Then, a fire claimed the life of Charlies grandmother and her family home, and Jake was blamed for starting it. Charlie's family moved away

Charlie and Jake had been sweethearts back in high school and they had dreamed of getting married one day. After a horrible tragedy, everything changed as their world was turned upside down and shook until it fell apart. A boiling pot of grief, resentment, misplaced blame, bubbling anger, bitterness and overwhelming guilt brought a swift and unresolved end to their romance.

As fate would have it, after many years had passed, Jakes and Charlies worlds collided once again. Each had agreed to be

Walk Me Home by Liza Kendall is the first book in a new series. A tragic fire, false accusations, betrayal and a bridezilla for a upcoming wedding. What more could any book ask for? I found this book to be heartbreaking and heartwarming at the same time, I laughed at the comments about the bride to be as she turns almost everyone in

I liked this story, but it took a while for me to get in to the characters. I loved the back story and the supporting characters, but it tended to be too detailed in certain spots. Charlie Nash returns to Silverlake to attend a family wedding. Being there brings up a past she has been running from. Firefighter Jake Braddock has had a rough go at life. Trying to escape his past, then Charlie returns and brings it all back. These two are just so gun shy around each other and want so desperately to ...more

The start of a new series which means many characters to meet. This was also my first Liza Kendall read and I am sure I will be reading more. A book charged full of emotions, regrets from the past, hurts from the past, unwanted sparks for old flames, to new feelings of moving forward and healing.

Charlie hasn't been back to Silverlake in a long time. Her family moved away after the tragic fire that killed her Grandmother. She left her heart in Silverlake all those years ago with Jake, sure she

Walk Me Home is a tender romance novel that will certainly get you emotional. The story follows Charlie Nash and Jake Braddock, high school sweethearts that were torn away by a tragic event. After the unfortunate event, Charlie's family casts Jake out and Charlie ends up moving away, leaving Jake in the dust. Years later, Charlie comes back into town for a family wedding and she comes face to face with Jake. Was their tragic history enough to keep them apart forever, or will their reunion be ...more

Charlie Nash is coming back to Silverlake, Texas because her cousin is getting a Bridezilla. But dealing with the crazy woman is not the only challenge that she will have to face. Silverlake is full of memories for Charlie and for Jake Braddock, her first love who became a firefighter and never left town.

When Jake's parents died when he was younger, one of his brother took on the role of father figure but with time, all the siblings more or less became estranged and Jake spent most

A second chance to right the past

The sweet cover grabbed my attention and the family-centric, emotional romance had me happily lost in Jake and Charlies drama-filled story

Theirs were two families hurting from tragedy. Each character had been impacted by the terrible hits that affected them so deeply. Ignoring things hadnt worked for anyone and with Charlie back in town this was the moment it couldnt be swept away anymore. With everyone taking sides, this was a battle that losing would only hurt

I came here for the second chance romance, and Kendall gave me that plus a great small town setting replete with family and friends with lots of history. Jake had a lot of reasons to be angry with the Nash family, and my heart ached for him, when I learned about his and their painful past. But, I loved seeing them trying to heal and move forward, and that's where some of those heartwarming feels come in. Drama comes in small doses from several sources, but culminates into something that put a ...more

Walk Me Home is a wonderful start to a new series by Liza Kendall. I was thrilled to receive an ARC of it, as it had me hooked from the first paragraph and kept me hooked through all the intriguing twists and turns of the storyline.

Charlotte Charlie Nash returns home to the small town of Silverlake, Texas to stand as a bridesmaid opposite her childhood sweetheart, Jake Braddock. She hasnt seen him since sixteen when her family left town following a tragedy that

I do love a classic Romance tale especially one that is focused on the young at heart. Walk Me Home tells the story of the on again off again relationship of Jake and Charlie of how they once got their love lost and thanks to a wedding, they are reunited again and determined to fix what was broken. This was a heartwarming story

Walk Me Home is a second chance romance set in a small town. When Jake was younger, his family was broken apart from tragedy and he found himself spending more and more time at his best friend, Brandon's, house. Pretty soon, the Nash's practically adopted him and he started to stay at their house full time. However, when his parents caught wind of his and Charlie (their daughter's) romance, they kind of gave him the boot. Shortly after that, the house caught on fire, and even though Jake went in ...more

Walk Me Home by Liza Kendall is the 1st book in her new Silverlake Ranch novel. We meet our heroine, Charlie Nash, who has just returned to Silverlake, Texas to be a bridesmaid for her cousins wedding. Charlie and her family left Silverlake years before, after a tragic fire destroyed their home, and caused the death of her grandmother.

Jack Braddock, our hero, and a firefighter in town, is determined to avoid Charlie at any cost. Jack and Charlie were teenage sweethearts, and have not seen each

Charlotte "Charlie" Nash has returned to Silverlake, TX to serve as a bridemaid in her cousin's wedding. A tragic fire drove her and her family out of Silverlake years ago. It is really tough for her to return but she can't let her cousin down. The fire claimed her grandmother's life and it was blamed on the teenager living with the family at the time, Jake Braddock. Charlie and Jake had feelings for each other back then but the tragedy destroyed the relationship. Jake was 100% innocent. He had ...more

I received an ARC from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

I liked this one, although it was a bit heavier than I was expecting. It's a contemporary romance, but with a lot of baggage from the past (that's not a bad thing, I was just expecting it to be a little lighter than it is). I liked the main character, and also liked the relationship between the main character and her best friend, and that the best friend is the love interest's brother. However, although most of the plot made

I LOVED this book!

It checks all the boxes:
☑ Hot firefighter
☑ Big city girl who returns to her hometown
☑ Family drama
☑ Adorable dogs (and cat)
☑ Crotchety old man bent on revenge
☑ Amazing friends
☑ Bridezilla
☑ Second chances

Jake and Charlie...who love each other even though they try VERY hard not to. So many hurts that the years have not lessened the pain. Two families that are trying to piece their lives together. Walk Me Home has ALL THE FEELS.

I can't wait to read more by these two talented

This book wasn't for me. I've realized that I don't like small town romances. There was far too much drama with the wedding and funding the fire department and not enough of Charlie and Jake reconnecting and talking through their problems for me.

Thanks to Berkley and Netgalley for my ARC in exchange for an honest review.
