USA TODAY bestselling author Stephanie Bond was seven years deep into a systems engineering career and pursuing an MBA at night when an instructor remarked that she had a flair for writing and suggested that she submit to academic journals. But Stephanie, a voracious reader, was only interested in writing fiction–more specifically, romantic fiction.

Upon completing her master’s degree and with no formal training in writing (her undergraduate degree is in computer programming), she started writing a romance novel in her spare time. Two years later in 1995 she sold her first manuscript, a romantic comedy, to Harlequin Books.

In 1997, with ten sales under her belt to two publishers, Stephanie left her corporate job to write women’s romantic fiction full-time. In 2011,

Stephanie launched a self-publishing business. Since that time, she has sold more than 1 million copies of her own books. To-date, Stephanie has published over 70 novels and has over 6 million copies of her work in worldwide distribution in numerous languages and formats.

This is what I like to call a "bridge" book in a long running series. It doesn't really solve any of the characters problems, it just moves things in a different direction. I will be interesting to see where the final books take us. I have loved this series and am sad to be looking at the final two books. This time around Carlotta comes to terms with some earthshattering news, Wes is close to taking charge of his life and the romantic square, well, it's still a square.

Carlotta Wren's life is looking up, professionally at least. Personally, it's still as messy as it always was. Carlotta has come to the earthshattering conclusion that everyone lies, ever her. Now, she has to decide how to reconcile that fact with what she wants to do about it.

Her new job as the Director of Atlanta Neiman-Marcus Birdal Salon comes with an assistant. She chose a nemesis for the job because Patricia is really a hard worker with a great sense of fashion. On a business trip to Dallas Patricia manages to get herself killed and Carlotta lands in the middle of the investigation. Her first call is to Jack Terry, one of the points on her square, and although he gets her out of hot water, they seem to move farther apart personally.

Cliffhangers for both Carlotta and Wes have he moving right to the next book.

Ready for more

I like this series but the books are way too short for the price. Should be more than an afternoon read. I've been reading them since the 1st one came out 13years ago and it's a ridiculously long wait between books considering how short they are . I'm ready to see Wes grow a pair. I'm ready to see Carlotta move forward, though maybe she is. I could be dead in a year and a half so maybe I'll never know!

I like the series, characters and writing style, but this book was very disappointing. First, it was ridiculously short. I finished reading it in just a couple hours. Second, absolutely nothing was resolved in the book. One character died, another character went missing, a third character was fired. Then the book just ended with nothing resolved! I felt like the author gave up and stopped writing in the middle of the book. I’m so annoyed!

WHAT A MESS

Her promotion goes bye-bye, her father isn't her biological father, her assistant dies, her brother is total wreck and she has to choose which guy to have a relationship with. Hang onto your hat there's lots more.

I probably should stop reading this series. Carlotta's life is a train wreck and the sad thing is that a lot of that is due to the decisions she makes. Just when you think she's getting her shit together she sabotages herself. This time around the latter didn't happen, but it does seem a bit like the universe is against her. Her career just went to crap, her family life is tenuous at best, Wes seems like he's being sucked in by another bad person, this time around it's his dad, which honestly at this point is not a shocker. And you know that the 2 tests that Carlotta ordered are going to royally mess things up. It almost has me looking forward to the next book.

Nothing new nothing decided

Nothing much happened at all. Story lines from previous book continued but not concluded or even added to. New murder not solved.

Body Movers Series

I have enjoyed all the other books but this one doesn't solve the crime or wrap up anything. Would rather have a completed book. This is more like a novella.

The Perils of Pauline have nothing on the Body Movers series. Just when you think it couldn't get weirder, it does, and that another cliff hanger is beyond imagination, it shows up.
I can't wait for the next one, and I hope I don't have to wait too long, because I have to know what comes next. The characters are growing and changing, there are twists and turns, and of course, lots of laughs and word pictures that verge on being too vivid. I love the series. These days I need a diversion from reality, and this is my diversion of choice.

10 Bodies Lying

I couldn't put this book down, thoroughly enjoyed it. I was happy at first for the career opportunity for Carlata, but her last decision was best. Randolph's character has taken an unlikable turn. All in all great sequel but it left me wanting more. I hope the next one isn't too long.

Yes I would highly recommend this book and series. I have enjoyed all of Stephanie Bond's books and am looking forward to the next serial.

Good book, but ready for the series to end

I read some negative reviews and was not looking forward to reading this book, however, I’m glad I did. I think it was very well done, though short...price maybe could have been less.

I have truly enjoyed this series, and it has lead me to reading most every book Stephanie Bond has ever written....which I also love. As for the Body Movers, I love these characters, and love the twists and turns the books take, but I’m really ready for the series to be over. I had thought this would be the last, but apparently there are going to be at least two more!?!

On a positive note, I really, really, really hope Carlotta ends up with Coop. Go Team Coop!!!

Mixed emotions

I’m a long-standing fan of Carlotta. I thought this books showed exceptional editing and story plot. I loved that Jack didn’t try to lead her on. Plus TEN points for Coop for the apology. Bond did her due diligence to her devoted fans treating all with TLC with such a well written and well executed themes. While it was a great book it was extremely short and very expensive so much so it kept me from giving it five stars. That’s the Short and sweet of it, it wink keep me from buying the next book but I might wait until it’s on sale.

While I’m glad she continued this series I’m done with this author. This book doesn’t end on a cliffhanger it’s ends like someone ripped half the book out. Mid-chapter. Completely abrupt, no attempt to wrap up a plot line. WTF? Who is the editor? Too slow releasing books too. How disappointing. This series really could have been great.

I wasn’t a huge fan of this particular book in the series. I felt that the description of the book didn’t really accurately portray the storyline... so I kept waiting for something to occur that never did. Additionally, I felt like the book just ended in the middle of nowhere.

I've enjoyed this series but this book merely transitioned the story forward a little bit with little substance and action. Disappointing.

OMG. I think this series is ending in 2 more books and they have been really short lately.

FYI I try not to add spoilers, so I'm just glossing over the summary.

Usually in this series there is a mini mystery that is solved and the bigger ones are ongoing but in this case the mini mystery was not solved.

Carlotta is working towards opening an Atlanta based bridal shop for Neiman Marcus. She and Patricia Alexander go to Dallas to get trained, and there is a murder. Carlotta is considered a suspect, and also she goes into the hotel room to collect information, as per usual. But the murder is ruled an accident. (Yes, she's still investigating, and that is the cliffhanger this time)

Meanwhile Wes is hating working at the golf course with his dad. He gets some very nice visits from Mouse, and hires Chance to work with him. He gets more info on his sentencing from the incidents in Vegas, and it turns out to be a great solution for him - only now Meg is missing in Europe so how can Wes ever get a break? And shouldn't her parents be in charge of finding her?

Oh, and Carlotta visits Peter who is not faring well in prison, and he has another piece of info he refuses to tell her.

I have no idea how this series can be solved in 2 more short books, but I'm beginning to assume that I won't be happy with the ending. Boo. Unless it is still ongoing after the 12th book which wouldn't be bad, but I assume since the summary says Carlotta gets married that that is the end?

Enjoyable read.

This is the 10th book in the Body Movers series. In this book, Carlotta is still reeling from the revelation that her mother dropped on her. And she in a state over the things that have happened on her life. But she’s excited to start a new chapter in her life with her new job. When her and her assistant travel to Dallas for training, she expects to learn all about the running of a bridal store. She doesn’t expect to find the body of her coworker.

Reading this book, was like getting reacquainted with old friends. I’ve truly enjoyed this series, and this was another wonderful read. Carlotta is such a strong character. And you get invested in her and Wesleys lives. You are rooting for them. Definitely recommend this book, and this series.

Where's the rest of the book?

I love this series and wait impatiently for each new book, but this one was disappointing.
It was too short and ended just as the plot seemed to form.
The characters and story lines in this series are well written and are cleverly intertwined. This novella set up those stories well, but just as I figured out the direction of each and settled in for the ride, the ride was cut short. Like realizing someone tore half the pages out of the book just as you got to the good part.
This didn't feel like a cliff hanger as much as a trailer for the next, hopefully, full length installment.
Please don't make us wait so long for #11.

Ready to read the next one

I have loved this whole series. I'm ready for the next one. Charlotte and the whole gang are a great set of characters. I would like to see Wesley's life straighten out for good and for Peter to get out of jail and just be a good friend to her.
As for Cooper and Jack, I've always been a Jack fan. BUT I am now tean Cooper. If Jack really loved her, he would share his life and things about his self worth her. Cooper seems to always be there for her. Unless things drastically change, I'm staying team Cooper.
The 4 stars is only because of the abrupt cutoff of the book and we'll have to wait awhile for the next book:(

The author should have ended the series with book #8 when the Randolph drama was resolved. Instead the 2 books after have been extremely boring with the whiny Carlotta & Wesley not being as happy as they'd hoped to have their parents back. Neither of them has a backbone to address any issues in their lives; Carlotta is so pathetic that she couldn't even find a real therapist to deal with things. It's impossible to pull for any good ending for these 2 losers but I really just want the series ended now so thrilled that I only have to suffer through 2 more audiobooks to be done.

I listened to this book in Audible. I was waiting for the next chapter when the narrator said “The End”. What? I’ve enjoyed this series but this installment left me disappointed. The murder wasn’t solved, Coop didn’t have to move any bodies, there wasn’t any steam in this book, etc. I felt the author got bored or had to meet her publisher’s deadline and just didn’t care how the story ended. Hopefully #11 will be better.

Carlotta has gotten a promotion and sees her life really turning around. Carlotta has been asked to open a wedding boutique with her as manager. She askes Patricia, nemesis since grade school to be her assistant, much to everyone's surprise. She hopes a business trip to Dallas will cement their new relationship and make the wedding boutique a success. BUT as always somethings goes wrong.
The book ends with an unanswered questions that made me have to listen to the next book in the series. :)

This series exhausts my patience and there's nobody to blame but myself for why I haven't quit the series. Phoned in is an apt way to describe the nothingness that happens in this book, mystery not really, romance also not really. Nothing gets resolved here and there's a fair amount in need of resolution and I'm going to guess that things get haphazardly explained at the very end of the final book. I didn't hate this like some others in the series but I also didn't like it much.

Too many secrets, lies, murder, dick pics (not real pics), and a lot of laughs. Carlotta and Hannah are a crazy match.

Hannah says that everyone lies; little white lies to deep hidden lies.
Unfortunately, Carlotta has been believing lies about her self worth and talents. Even the fake Dr. Denton tells her that she may be the problem. When lies get mixed with emotions and tangled with family drama, Carlotta has to face the truth and ask the right questions.

A really compelling read

This book leaves you anxiously waiting for the next installment. So many unanswered mysteries. The characters are engaging, and well defined. Please do not make us wait too long before we join Carlotta on her next adventure, and get some answers to our questions.
