Really loved this one, but expect it won’t be for everyone. Completely flipped narrative. Pretty dark story where the FMC is the all powerful bad guy making the alpha MMC completely submit to her. Super interesting take and perspective on the role reversal.

Delectable Reign
Yo! This. Book! Xavier Neal’s Unleashed is dark and deliciously devilish! The power playing is on that Game of Thrones level.
Remy Kessler, the FMC is my new she-ro. She’s the BIPOC, modern day Cersei, just more badass. She owns the figurative Iron Throne, ruling it with her brain, beauty, and her brawn! It’s so thrilling to see this kind of heroine in a romance.
Remy is a fallen angel, undisguised. She reigns over her family empire after her father’s sudden death. While running the show, she is also trying to find his murderer. Overseeing her depraved business ventures, she takes a liking to a man she bought to fight in to-the-death matches. Yakov becomes her pet in the most inhumane sense and he’s loving it. Check your trigger warnings before reading..this one is code red. Sexual deviance runs rampant and is continually used a power tool. It’s not for everyone but I found it brilliant in this context.
Remy and Yavok slowly build on their connection while struggling to keep a power balance that doesn’t make Remy look weak. The spice is reaper level, and coupled with the unveiling of the MCs vulnerabilities, the romance is truly captivating.
Enemies are lurking, seeking to overthrow Remy; that external conflict impacts the couple, as well as Remy’s inability to trust.
A fantastic cast of secondary characters rounds out this dark romance/murder mystery and the ending is a glorious demonstration of wicked poetic justice.

If you like dark and sizzling romances, you need to read this book. If you like books that push limits and break boundaries, you neeed to read this book. If you enjoy books with BDSM and violence, you need to read this book. If you like well written compelling stories that will pull you in and engulf you, you need to read this book. And if you like characters that will challenge your perceptions and steal your heart, you need to read this book. Yeah, I'm really saying that you NEED to read this book! There is simply so much that I would love to say about this truly amazing book. But, in fear of my joy and enthusiasm generating spoilers; I am going to try to keep it short. Remy and Yavok’s romance is stunning, complex, complicated and unique. Dark and yet often sweet. Brutal but at times tender. Shocking and yet with a familiar feel. It is fresh and fantastic. This book simply checked every box for me. It stole my breath, kept my on the edge of my seat and captured my heart. It ended leaving me completely satisfied and incredibly eager for more books in this captivating series. What a read! (and you really need to read this book!!!) This is my honest, voluntary review.

Well that was an amazing read that had my emotions all over!! I was gripped by the story immediately. Yavok is special and I loved him from the start. Remy is intense, and takes a bit to warm up to her but boy oh boy, she's FIRE!! It's a dark world, twists, danger, nail biting suspense and epic. I can see this being an amazing SYNful series!!

I struggled with this one. It wasn't because of the writing, or editing. After consideration,I think it was the first time I have ever read this storyline and characterization. Was it still hot? Yeah. Were the characters believable?...Sort of...due to the skills of the author they were presented fully. However, I guess I personally am struggling with the antiheroine aspect and toxic masculinity of the h.

Different but...

Once again killed it!!!! I must say while I loved Yavok right off the bat, Remy I had to slowly understand her to begin to like her. It was a different kind of relationship because usually the strong Alpha type is the man and the woman is the weaker one. Not saying Yavok was weak, just the circumstances caused the difference. In the end all was well but what a ride getting therd. Enjoy!!!!

Unleashed a great but challenging read

Okay, I had a hard time with Remy throughout the book. I really loved Yavok and was anxious to see him win.
Ms Neal was excellent in writing a story that pushed your comfort zone and made you pay attention to areas you my have wanted to ignore it hide.
This love story kept your interest, if only to find out whether Yavok would get his HEA.
I recommend this book it's definitely a keeper.

Give us, us free!

I... don’t know how I should feel about this?? I was getting into it then Remy made Yavok perform a sexual act on another person... and it just made me feel violated for him in that moment. Her abuse of a submissive. Hell even if the roles were reversed I have never read a book where the man made the woman suck off a stranger. Maybe I just haven’t come across those books?🤷🏾‍♀️ Now, even though it’s not really addressed in this book I’m going to assume Remy is young. That’s the only reason I can think of for her to have the tantrums she threw. Spoiled only child syndrome. And if Yavok were a real PET! Freaking Animal Control would have taken away her pet so quick! And put her skinny behind in jail! Pet play/Sub life or nah! Do better. Be best.

Dangerous Alpha Female Beware!

Remy and Yavok’s relationship had a very different relationship that is rarely displayed in romance novels but does occur in life. It was nice reading about this female alpha. It was a bit frustrating when Yavok spoke in a foreign language only because I could not translate what he said, which was difficult when he spoke in English because the translation application does not translate this. This being the case, distracted me when following the story.

I'm shocked. I haven't read a book with such a vicious FMC in quite some time. I was taken by surprise by the fight scene in the first character. I immensely enjoyed the twist of a dominant female, and this book has me longing for more heroines like Remy. Give me more savage female characters!!

Not sure

The book was well written as usual but I guess I had trouble really getting into the story. For instance how Yavok ended up in slavery was a bit unclear ( I am assuming it was human trafficking out of prison) and what the business and Sin was really about was also glossed over. I am not sure I liked how she kept him risking his life in the ring. If she cared about him then why. Also the author kept talking about her power but we didn't see much evidence of that (no description of business meeting et) however we saw plenty of evidence of her cruelty. There was, I felt an amalgam between a Dom/sub relationship, a slave/master one with a bit of Stokholm thrown in. Quite confusing at times. Hope the next one will be more convincing.

5 Deliciously Dark, Forbidden Stars!!!

I was given this book in turn for an honest review.

He’s her pet, nothing more and nothing less. Could they possibly share something more, could her pet be the person she needs by her side, always; the type of man her father would have approved of, in the dangerous world she lives.

Xavier Neal has written a deliciously, forbidden, dark romance, that morally I shouldn’t love; yet against all my better judgement, I found I couldn’t get enough of Remy and her Pet. This story is one that has your mind constantly fighting against what is right and what is wrong, with this said, who is to say something is necessarily wrong?

The first couple of chapters were hard going for me, however, once I worked through the characters and their directions, I found myself needing more and more of them, and I couldn’t wait to devour the rest of the story.

Remy and Yovak have an undeniable electric magnetism around them from the moment they meet, that they both find hard to ignore or deny. Yovak wants to impress Remy, he wants to prove his worth, and Remy finds she needs Yovak, she needs the undeniable power he holds over her, without her losing the control and power she holds.

For me Unleashed is a beautifully, dark, magical, romance; much like the forbidden fruit. You shouldn’t love it; however, you can’t fight the allure of it, and find yourself immersed into their world, loving every minute of it.

Unleashed is for all dark romance readers. You shouldn’t love it, but you will.

Remy and Yavok Forever

If you like dark and sizzling romances, you need to read this book.

Xavier Neal has done again with this Dark and Sensual Book that takes you throw all Types of Journey with its BDSM, and Deadly Games. Ms. Neal has push the limits with this book, and I loved it .

Yavok was traded back and forth between Masters. But one look at Remy made him want to be a Better man. For what? To be bound and gagged? To be chained? Beaten? To be tossed back into another fucking cage and possibly sold to the next highest bidder?

Remy has lived in a dark underworld all her life. Fighting in a man's world she has to have Bigger COJONES to survive. But she did and she showed them how who was the Baddest was Spectacular.

She has inherited the Business, and it is now hers to keep. The one thing she has too have is Trust, Which it's hard too come by with the Poeple in her life.

But he came and changed the dynamics in her life for the Better.


Yavork also has deep issues himself. With being made too fight to survive and being toss had and foot made him have Trust Issues..


But when these two meet, it was like the Galaxy aligned for the Perfect Couple.


I love the Chemistry and the banter between Remy and Yavok.


He made her trust and the love you felt pouring though the book between them had me at Aww Moments.


This dark and twisted Book was Extremely Outstanding. Xavier you always comes with the Extraordinary set of Stories. Thanks love for all that you do.

Ok let me start by saying that im completely blown away by this book! I've read every book that Xavier has ever written and im quite proud to say that i've been one of her biggest fans from her start at writing.
Now, with that being said, i thought i knew Xavier, I thought i knew her writing, her personality, hell, i thought i knew her mind almost lol. This book proved me wrong! This is her first dark novel. I honestly wasn't sure how i would feel about it. I struggled a bit at first cus my brain was screaming at me that it was NOT Xavier's style. I think i just expected hearts and flowers and my brain was just on that track and wouldnt switch lol. Then i put my ereader down and made a coffee and had an internal talk with myself and started again with a fresh outlook.
I fell into this book completely! I couldn't put it down! At one point my kidneys about busted because i had ignored it for so long lol. Im in love with these strong women. Im in awe of the power they hold and the steps they take to ensure that they are respected at all cost. Im completely jealous of the men that they attract and the unrelenting love they receive from them. I cant wait to get to know the other members of The Synful Syndicate!

This is a completely new kind of story we are getting from Xavier and this dark and twisted read was fantastic! I couldn’t stop reading it. It is definitely a page turner that keeps you in the edge of your seat. Remy has lived in a dark underworld all her life, and it is now hers to keep. The life she lives comes with trust issues, deadly games, and always having your guard up no matter what. You never know who is lurking in the shadows ready to take you down. But, she has some of the biggest balls, and nobody should ever cross her. I loved her strength through this book.
Yavok is one of a kind. He has had a crazy life for a while, and being sold to someone tops it off. You will feel for him, and everything he has to go through. This man has a strong will to live, and a compassionate heart. He is the little light that Remy needs in her life.
Their relationship is off the charts. There was so much push and pull, learning to listen and compromise, and death wants them both! I absolutely loved being in their world and I hope we get to see them again.

Pet Peeves

So Yakov is sold into servitude under the worst circumstances....fight or die...no grey area....you simply go from master to master....living in a cage...surviving on a set of skill set only learned in desperation and despair.....living like a dog....treated like a dog....yes Pet.....so then we have the Master....Remy....yes....she was named after the drink...by loving parents mind you....is rich and powerful....a Queen amongst loyal followers....no one dare contradict her.....her word is the law in the House of Syn....so why is she miserable and tormented.....she can have any man she wants....go anywhere she pleases..I'll anyone she wants...why does she feels like she's caged...who is really the Pet....why is she drawn to Yakov....a pure spirit who has to kill to gain freedom....and she kills on a whim.....it's the dark romance writing by a woman called Xavier....twisted and poetic

I've never read anything that stated to be a dark romance before so I really wasn't sure what to expect with Remy and Yavok. It was an adventure to say the least. Kinda like a love/hate dynamic. I went back and forth on how I felt about Remy. There's no doubt she's a strong, take no prisoners type of woman. In her world she has to be. Everyone pretty much fears her. Especially after her father died and she took over completely. That is until Yavok entered her life while fighting for his. Yavok is quite opposite. It's hard not to like him. He is a man who lost everything after taking revenge on a man who hurt his sister. Life wasn't worth much until he was bought by a woman who will become his Master in every way possible. Their dynmaic is one that's hard to comprehend but it works for them and makes for an entertaining journey.

Unleashed is freaking amazeballs! Xavier Neal found the perfect balance between dark, twisted ruthlessness and the steamy heat that comes when the heart is laid bare. This is more than kinky sex (which there is plenty), bloodbaths (lots of that too) and power exchanges.
Remy is tough. As the one in charge, she can’t afford mistakes or a weakness to survive. Although Yavok is many things, he refuses to be either. Together they navigate their way through the messiness that comes with her authority and his submission.

It continues to amaze me how easy it is to get lost in the worlds Xavier Neal creates. There are so many moments that linger in your heart, that leave you gasping, needing to know what comes next.

There just isn’t adequate words to express how awesome this book is!!! Remy and Yavok are deep, complex characters and although their love affair takes place in a dark, dark world, it is a beautiful romance none the less. Yes this is considered a dark romance and includes dark subject matter at times but I would recommend this to anyone who loves romance novels. Truly a wonderful story and brilliant, insightful writing.

So this dark romance book was a first for Xavier. Needless to say, I of course loved it. I have read many dark romances and this one is one of my favorites. It has all the elements needed to keep you engaged throughout the whole story. So many crazy twists and turns that had me pausing to collect myself in order to continue. This is different than her other works so please keep that in mind! I hope you fall in love with Remy and Yavok like I did!

A good type of different

This book was different, obviously, a good type of different. Never have I read a book where the heroine was dominant and the hero a willing participant of being dominated. This book was a refreshing read from the usual “man must be in control”.
